  1. But he has only completed half as many laps as the others because he generally breaks down on lap 2
  2. The only difference between Mr Easters comments and the selection upon this forum who have debated if Adam Ellis should ride in the NL or not (apart from putting his name to his comments) is that he holds a position of responsibility within the league. If he wants Mildenhall to succeed then so be it and if they do it will be within the rules stated at the beginning of the season (the same rules that make Ellis eligible to ride in the NL). There may be rule changes next season "if" enough promoters back it but if not we will continue as we are. And as for how much the sponsorship was/is i think thats irrelevant, there wasn't a sponsor at the beginning of the year so even if it was £50 a team its better than nothing.
  3. For me whatever the comments were it takes a big man to apologise for voicing your opinions so i applaud you for that. In my mind i would much rather have a sponsor on board who is passionate about the sport and the goings on within it than one who solely benefits from the advertising. Keep at it Mr Easter better to have a voice and let people choose if they want to listen than have people wanting to listen and there being no voice.
  4. Theres a hint in there somewhere but im buggered if i can see it.
  5. The rider can compete in all 3 leagues however I cannot see Poole wanting him burnt out and with the Poole Peterborough links I think if Adam takes any PL place it will be there. Hard as it seems but matt ford calls the shots that effect even the NL
  6. Can't see Jack finishing the season at Cradley. Priorities have changed and he is now stopping himself and the club progressing. Someone will have to make the decision soon.
  7. Expected better scores from cupitt and kinsley. But otherwise as predicted. Basford sounded fast but a little wild? Track was probably different from normal. Can sam woods be a number 8 if he's not a flat 3 pointer?
  8. Copied from the Peterborough thread..... From what I got told after the meeting team changes will be happening and the name mentioned to me was Adam Ellis but club are unsure on costings as unlikely to be able to do all 3 leagues and would need to drop NL so they will need to make it worth his while as am sure he is on very good money at Eastbourne now. I understand there is an BSPA agreement that NL clubs release riders if they can get a PL place so have to wait and see. Another option that may become available is N Klindt who doesn't seem to be getting picked for Poland at the moment so if that continues he may consider PL again
  9. Peterborough vs Somerset thread. Latter pages.........
  10. Certainly not going to put the man down for wanting to give something back & nurture the future of British speedway. The age cap is a prudent idea and perhaps best to limit to those riding 500cc machines as that is where the majority of Tai's knowledge will lay? My concern is the word "cost" in the statement. If you want to give something the give it don't charge for it. Im not directing or implying that there is any profiteering going on but it would be lovely to read that the stadiums involved offer the use of facilities free of charge, Tai shares his wisdom free of charge & the riders benefit rather than pay for the privilege. Without knowing the full details there may not even be any costs........However all in all it sounds like a tremendous oppotunity for some and even if just a couple of riders benefit it can only be good for British speedway.
  11. Looks like Eastbourne's little book of contacts has run out as they are openly advertising for riders for the Buxton away match............sure the phone has been ringing non stop! And if the rumour's on the Peterborough thread are anything to go by the Eagles might soon have their wings clipped........
  12. As good as Adam is he is also there to be beaten and it will give riders who get one over on him (like Halsey yesterday) a nice confidence boost. Anyway big well done to Mildenhall on running Eastbourne close over the two legs and getting the home win. Form like that will see them have a decent season. I suspect that Luke Ruddick might be slightly nervous about getting his place back? For Eastbourne Knight seems to be really getting dialed in now and could be the season he delivers upon his potential. Reserves still seem to be the thorn in the side though. Powell is proving that his lack of Speedway experience is costly, Phillips in the wars again and now openly advertising for anyone who wants to do the away trip to Buxton............i mean seriously who would volunteer to go to Buxton!
  13. Not sure how much longer the promotion or fans will tolerate this? I understand and accept that riders have jobs but for planned fixtures arrangements should be made. Twice a season unavailable perhaps but twice a month? Think the Cradley big hitting heat leaders will all find double figures but who else will chip in? Kings Lynn are a strength in depth side so i think this will make a very interesting match this evening.
  14. Is Kingston working again or still getting over his crash? Would be a bit alarming if he cannot get the time off again?
  15. All seems very quiet from Stoke regarding the reserve situation? Was Millar dropped & MacDonald refusing to ride in support? Have they both been given the boot? Doesn't sound like the two brought in were the answer either (although everyone will struggle against Brum). Alarm bells must be ringing in the Potteries.
  16. Got it (i think) "Guest in PL" is the key piece of the wording. For once it appears that the rules are there (just badly written).
  17. On the Rye site it lists Bowen & Hopwood as the Brum guests which could point to a hammering. Woods is definitely out with Banks in and Bowdrey still recovering from injury means a baptism of fire for Macauley Leek. Also a humorous comment about other clubs wanting Locke for guest bookings........must be some teams who want to practice replacing their air fence panels.
  18. Just had a look at the green sheets and noticed the number of riders that are not eligible to guest in the NL this year. Can it be right or am i misreading them somewhere? As it stands NEG PLR Not Eligible to Guest as NL only Guest in PL, as rider declared in PL 1-7 Matt Williamson Lee Payne Zach Wajtknecht Tom Perry Darryl Ritchings Liam Carr Max Clegg Danny Ayres Nathan Greaves Josh Bailey Ben Morley Danny Phillips NEG Not Eligible to Guest as NL only Guest in PL as has achieved 4.00 or above in PL Adam Ellis Kyle Hughes James Cockle Luke Bowen Dave Mason Luke Clifton Jon Armstrong Ben Wilson Tony Atkin If this is the case then guest options are very limited this year......
  19. Very much so because if im reading them right there are hardly any eligible guests for heat leaders this year?
  20. Green sheets have Bowen as not eligible to guest in NL however im sure he has had one guest booking already? That said it also has Carr & Ayres down as not eligible who have also taken guest bookings? Is the sheet wrong or am i going crazy this late in the day?
  21. TBC? Have Stoke lost faith with Millar already? I know he was my tip to be dropped first but didn't expect it that quickly!
  22. Good spot. Also green sheets have Harvie Banks in the 1-5 so im guessing Woods has been given the push? Not an inspired replacement but he cant do any worse!
  23. That will be a huge miss for Birmingham even if both are not particular fans of Rye House? Depending on the guest it would clearly give Rye the upped hand with the heat leaders as i suspect it will have to be RR(grr) for Perry. Even so the strength in depth should take care of the long wild and mechanically unreliable Raiders tail. In a brilliant twist Priest will be riding for Brum at Stoke the day before...........
  24. Looking at the latest averages with all the Ispwich riders in the top 5 upping their aves it really does give very few options to replace Paco. Even Branford on 3.40 is too high i think? Turns out i cannot read the small print properly did think it was peculiar! Konopka would fit but i think he has had enough chances. If changes are made it might have to be for another NL 3 pointer. The Greenwoods both have PL experience, local lads Mountain or Kinsley are in good form as is number 8 Hume. As a supporter i would rather see a rider gain experience for next year and return on a flat 3 or just over rather than an overseas rider who would have to return on a 5.
  25. Other than wrecking the averages and deciding the result of several meetings before they have begun have the FTR changes actually helped in any way? Its pretty common knowledge that the FTR rates of pay were ignored in the first season they were introduced and i cannot see any reason why that is not still the case now. In addition heatleaders will know their points will be harder to come by this season so any with half a brain will have been asking for enhanced deals. Have the halfwits in heir attempts to cut costs actually driven up the cost of running an EL team?
