  1. Don't see how it was wasted....bit of white marker turns 'a' into 'p' and stick 'on' to the end. Thomas into Thompson is a pretty easy switch Although maybe in the revolving door of speedeay these days the names should be velcro like the numbers.
  2. Plus side is Ipswitch have saved a few quid on getting a new race suit made.....
  3. Aside from the fact that the cause the meeting was run for far eclipses any petty squabbling between two governing bodies i would be soundly staggered if said committee member was in favour of the ban and the fact that he received a warm reception from all would bare that out....certainly warmer than other members / co-ordinators might receive.......that reminds me when are the youth rounds held at Kent this year?
  4. If a ship has been steered into an iceberg sacking the captain or not, its still likely to sink. The Directors appear to have relied to heavily on LR up to this point and have graciously let him go. What it takes for Brum to get out of the mess doesn't matter as long as it happens.
  5. Surely witholding services and a ban on the way?
  6. To be fair the ignorance at the start of the season (thinking/hoping/expecting) crowds of 1000 for a break even figure. Id question if that figure would be regularly reached even if the admittance was £10. I admire the optimism but that has never paid the bills.
  7. Scores don't always tell a story though. Paid 12 and paid 11 looks decent enough but it was from reserve against other poor reserves (and one ride a meeting against Harry whos been getting beat by the mascot...probably). Riding in the 1-5 would have been a much tougher afternoon and a good haul would have been 4-5 points, i would be expecting Pijper and Harrison to easily achieve that covering his rides.
  8. Whilst extra rides for Pijper and Harrison strengthens the Comets, Harry having to take all 4 rides weakens them (plus there is the unknowns of how Luke Harrisons fitness will hold up on a hot day and taking extra rides. For the visitors much depends which version of Roynon turns up but Kai Ward is notably weaker than Vinnie Foord would have been.
  9. Crikey Harry drops from 7.11 to 3.00. Can't imagine any riders keeping thier place with that form. Thats worse than Dayle Wood and William Richardson. Interestingly Sam is very much heading in the other direction.....must make sunday dinner Interesting.
  10. Tragic. Those figures are barely sustainable at any level
  11. Apologies got that bit wrong. However one of Wood or Lyden will need to go up into the 1-5 and if Lyden happens to still be suffering from his work place injury the Simpson could be named as AR. He could then take 3 RR rides and Spooner the other, plus could take a ride each from Wood and Parker. Whilst Simpson might not be a world beater that situation certainly looks like it would generate more points than the current declared 1-7.
  12. 010.2 MATCH AVERAGES (MA’s) "A NDL rider, who is not in a NDL, ‘League’ Team Declaration will be given an Established MA after completing 4 meetings, irrespective of being home or away in any official team competition"
  13. Think you can name AR at any point this season not just if running RR and they can take any rides so in theory could take a ride each for Lyden, Wood and Parker.....you would fancy Simpsons chances to get a decent return in heats 2,8 & 14.
  14. "A rider taken out of a team cannot be re-introduced in that team within 14 days" obviously depending on when the declarations go through etc but Leicester away is 24th June so mighty tight. But he could be an AR for Edinburgh (or i really hope he ends up guesting for Leicester in place of Foord for the two meetings )
  15. Yep found it....thats a nice rule open to so much manipulation. So Simpson can sit out the Leicester Home and Away meetings (or be number 8/AR) then be redeclared into the team in time for Berwick at home.......and they wonder why people tire of the nonsense....
  16. Awful swap, going to be batterings like last year now. Parker was behind Fellows in his only league appearance and Fellows isn't close to ready either. Its now going to force either Lyden or the waste of a team place Aussie up in the 1-5 where they will score even less than they got at reserve. Question.....as Simpson is due to drop to a 3.00 on 9/6 does that still happen or is he saddled with his departing average or 4.46? Also interesting wording on the press release "Max's current NDL average is 11.83. To accommodate this in the team, Mickie Simpson makes way for the time being with Cumbrian newcomer to the sport Mark Parker coming into the side on a 3.00 average." It was certainly always the case that you couldn't be re-declared into a team during the same season
  17. Oxford will have to work a bit harder with weaker reserves but Richardson hasn't proven to be much of a threat so a lot relies on Warren. Top 5s for both sides have been excellent but Atkins on a hot streak at the moment could be differnce maker. Home win but a decent push. (Secretly keeping fingers crossed for 46-44 and a super heat)
  18. Whatever Harrys issues are its certainly not fair that he is passing them on to the paying Workington crowds. Has Warren turned it around? Big score but barely beat an opponent as most points were gained from mechanical breakdowns gifted to him. Think the next couple of matches will tell if he has had a confidence boost or lost his way.
  19. To be honest whilst the actions were despisably petty it has only had a positive effect on the Nora operations and gained a lot of support and interest from across the sport. Ultimately all publicity is good publicity and i hope it has not only strengthened the resolve of those involved but also tempted more to join the ranks.
  20. Someone better versed in these matters may confirm but chances are Edinburgh will still provide the minimum requirements of his visa (accommodation, basic income etc) just because he has lost his riding place with the CL side i think they are duty bound for the duration of the visa?
  21. Using Joe Hughes International (because they list prices) and selecting only the basic level items focussing on a single bike for amateur level racing with no donor parts id guestimate that it would cost easily £5-7K to build up a respectable new machine (not including cost of engine). Will chuck rough figures below but thats the tip of the iceberg.... countershaft £385 clutch £585 forks + damper £450 diamond £250 rear end £150 engine plates £120 fuel tank £100 air filter £50 tyres £120 (Front&Back) wheels £250 rear £180 front exhaust £350 (front pipe, silencer, heat shield) dirt deflector £300 carb £675 Total £3965
  22. Im not so sure. I think if it all clicks the Mildenhall side is a threat to anyone. Bowtell, Congreve and Butcher will relish the bigger spaces of the Northside track, in fact had Butcher still been at reserve it would be a very different tale. However an out of form Warren and a track that will terrify Richardson could make the difference. Still think Mildy will stop the Comets hitting 50 though.
  23. Biggest test to date for the Comets and the Fen Tigers too as the aggregate point from these two fixtures could be crucial. Both teams have a strong top 4/5 so will come down to fine margins i suspect. Will Harry McGurk or Josh Warren rediscover some form? Its likely to be a busy afternoon for the latter and the battle of the reserves could swing it.
