  1. Best wishes to Callum Walker who's sudden sickness bug has now turned into a nasty longer term issue that may take weeks to recover from.....bet he wishes he just had a badly kicked shin now
  2. Nobody knows if there is an H in Box or anything else as the fool refused the test.
  3. On form and on paper this looks like a good night for the Brummies with a prolific heat leader trio that have the very real threat of all scoring maximums. For Kent to keep in the running its important to avoid any last places and pick up spoils when they come their way. Greenwood has been patchy so far and RR for Walker is unlikely to return much whereas RR for Stoneman should be respectable. Could be one of those nights where a dodgy decision or bit of controversy swings it either way.
  4. Kent got away with it last night and held on to progress to the next round due to the determination of the remaining riders which says much to their credit. Plymouth were always in trouble with RR for RTD and lightweight reserves added to by Laker falling bizarrely during a stopped race and subsequently taking no further part although no reason given as to why/if he was actually withdrawn but fair play to Sheppard for grinding out his 7 rides. As for Boxall what a tool. Brings the curtain down on a career surrounded by poor decisions, plunging his home town club into the mire and turning himself into a speedway & grasstrack outcast.
  5. Struggling stoke are finding it hard to even get guest riders and almost impossible to get full time signings. The Wallinger decision looks like a major lemon and losing Atkin does huge amount of harm to the whole team .
  6. First time ive been right all season which puts me 1 up on Rogers.......probably nicked the idea from me anyway. of course its abuse of the rules but if the loopholes are there.....
  7. I like both riders mentioned and Sam more than anyone deserves a break, Embleton was everywhere for a while but seemed to struggle keeping up with the travelling plus both on 3.00 are probably better waiting to sign fully somewhere next season. More bad luck for Brum though with Leons injury.
  8. Definitely goes to show the concern at Brum when riders of Dugards "quality" is quoted. However joining Plymouth on a 4.00 average so only could have replaced the misfiring Walker and still feel Callum has a few more points in him than Kelsey.
  9. I think the wording in the press release that was telling was "As a result, speedway isn’t that high on his priorities anymore" im not sure that Kelsey specifically wanted to stop riding but the family felt he wasn't giving it the required level of effort. That said Plymouth is an insane choice for a Newcastle based rider but perhaps were the only club to offer equipment as part of the deal?
  10. Given the positive reviews the U19's & Top Gun at Sheffield received it would be a nice twist if the 16 lapper was put together to trial some new talent ready for the other reserve berth / number 2 positions next year? As stated watching the same old compete every year could be considered dull?
  11. Didn't see a Mildenhall match in the fixtures? IF Flint is unable to ride and its RR for him then its a disaster for Brum and can kiss any remote hopes goodbye. IF Walker came down with a last minute sickness bug it could mean RR for him and guest for Flint.......#whatwouldEastbournedo
  12. Wood leaves and Lawlor given a chance. Just keeps raining on Sheffield.
  13. Never rains for Brum. Id be straight on phone for possible guests Danny Ayres? Then kicking Walker straight in the shin so its RR for him and guest for Leon.
  14. Clearly the first priority is best wishes to the injured riders and to Hampshires pocket after lending Stoneman a bike and seeing it written off. Accidents are accidents and i don't believe there was any genuine malice from either Edwards or Brennan apart from being a little over hyped by the management. Blatent time wasting is another issue and with Luke Bowen receiving a fine for tape touching on the Island i would like to hope that Powell received the same and that he had plenty of local supporters to see another poor display at Central Park. Ultimately despite being a heated affair upping the level of local rivalry is good for both clubs and will enhance crowds for future meetings.
  15. The problem that has existed throughout is that everyone has constantly been told his passport is coming through, it is in the post, has arrived etc but until it is actually seen and witnessed it does not exist
  16. Harsh reality is Cradley have picked the cream from the Southern group and the averages from 1st August show a 10+ point difference between the two sides. Brum are better than the performance against Plymouth and will know how the track is providing the weather stays hot. Even with an unattached 3 pointer at reserve that is largely where the difference will occur. Difficulty most neutrals want to see Cradley dumped out but if they are to have any chance of survival winning is a must and nobody wants to see a team fold even if it is the Heathens.
  17. IF there was competition for spaces in all classes at the youth rounds then yes a grading/ability guide should be used but sadly as there isn't then all track time is valuable to riders of whatever level. Obviously safety should be paramount and riders being lapped need to be aware of approaching riders, maintaining a line etc but its still a yardstick. A rider could be top of the pile at any track mentioned but would never truly know their level until they get to the Nationals.
  18. Yep definitely got that one wrong but delighted for the Warriors. No doubting Hampshire was a shrewd booking and Ayres stayed upright and imperious all night. As for Buxton its going to be a tough year especially when Tedham & an unattached 3 pointer (well done Jamie) get 10 (paid 13) vs 2 at reserve. Add in Whitmore who is badly out of his depth at NL level and there are problems. That said good to see Coles back and scoring points and also good to hear there was a good crowd in attendance.
  19. Experience plus the opportunity to ascertain where a rider really is in terms of ability and progression. Riders only improve racing better riders.
  20. Going to be a tough night on the Island with the heat and a huge must win for the Warriors and a big threat in Buxton coming to town. The big hitters of Morley & Bowtell absent will be a worry for the home side. Booking Hampshire to guest for Widman could be an inspired move if he performs as he has recently or seal the Warriors fate if he has an off night. Not many places that Buxtons reserves will go and look the stronger pairing, think whoever gets the best from RR will edge this one and fancy Buxton to register their first points of the season tonight.
  21. First time ive read that statement this year.
  22. Absurd is constantly calling for riders to be replaced when the alternatives will not strengthen the team. Latest GSA show Bellego 6.10 & Smith 2.00. Combined 8.10 minus 0.54 to bring back under the 42.5 point limit = 7.56 for two riders. Answers on a postcard who those riders would be and how they would strengthen the Swindon side.....
  23. Massive damage done at reserve last night and in all fairness to the RTD & Leek are not exactly a renowned threat at 6 & 7. Brum have known this situation has been coming all season yet have largely chosen to ignore it and now its coming back to bite them. An off night for any of the main team is going to cause issues and im sure Flint can be forgiven a poor one. Not sure how much longer Walker will get? Seems to be spending yet another season not progressing.
