  1. Reading the release it also said Redcar were going to respect his privacy. Im not going to pretend i like or respect Barker because i don't but as he has stepped away from speedway he is entitled to have his private life left private and not be subject of fishing exercises by those who know little but assume much.
  2. Widman has been riding all season and will be tonight i expect.....its racing that he hasn't been doing.
  3. I think Central Park would be torn down by the crowds bare hands if that happened. Was purely in jest i 100% hope that it will be a cracker and really wish i could make tonight. Think it could be a track that Wirtzfeld goes well on, think King is a gating tart so will see which one turns up. Much more will depend if Widman turns up or not because currently IOW look stronger without him.
  4. Wasn't in attendance but still loving Ayres Force One proving he can still do a very good job at higher levels and providing pure entertainment as ever. Best Wishes to Kyle and the Bickley Family never easy to lose someone close.
  5. Hopefully not however a 7-8 point rider won't come cheap and options are currently limited. Obviously BWD is the standout name on the list the others in the mix like Becker or Sedgeman would require the sponsor paperwork, costs etc and its well known Rogers filing systems are questionable so might be a one rider option but can Brum afford him?
  6. Very pleasing to see that even though the trophy finals have been done away with this has come down to a one leg shoot out between the Kent galacticos and the peoples champions Warriors. Whilst the strong performers have all been discussed it will come down to the lesser lights to settle this one plus who can keep the most relaxed and enjoy the experience as there are young riders throughout and the pressure levels will be high. Had just a win be needed on the night it could be a real cracker but needing a margin of 7 makes the Islanders chances that bit harder. Keeping my fingers crossed for all square after 12 heats, 5-1 to Warriors in 13, 3-3 heat 14 and then curfew (joking) then see what happens in 15.......
  7. No expense spared from Kent then as Andrews is a long distance traveller but certainly in good form and often good around Central Park. I have to admit i was expecting Jason Edwards (although he may be examming also) or guest of the moment Connor Coles however Richard is likely to do a good job for the home side.
  8. The point could well be crucial as it looks a bigger task for the Warriors needing to win by 7+ rather than any win will do.
  9. Normally i would 100% agree that it will be the usual home win but if the Warriors can jangle a few home nerves early on the pressure might start to bite. With Spooner already out much will depend on the guest booking and whether its RR for Alex or Jordan? If Kent go for a cheap option things could get a bit squeaky.
  10. Certainly an open line up. Would think only Wright & Howarth look genuinely likely to get through. The other 'big' names are having patchy seasons and i feel there are plenty of spoilers in this line up. Certainly wouldn't be surprised if Ayres & Bacon are close to getting through.
  11. Fortunately the plucky island warriors have managed to make this into a title decider and will travel to Kent looking for a win of 7 or more points to take an unexpected but would be richly deserved trophy. For the Kings there are fingertips on the trophy but they have fumbled before and the expectant result on the Island didn't come meaning a bit more pressure upon the home side and creates a meaningful fixture for the paying public but how will this one off fixture unfold?
  12. Couple of changes and the Brum side instantly look much better. Oystercard was never a number 1 (although the only thing he is currently doing is sticking 2 fingers up to the supporters) not sure what he is doing this year but must be either running on the cheap or on a guarantee as this level of poor can't be sustainable?. Stoneman has a huge set of stones and that brings plenty of points and hopefully can stay fit for once. I really feel for Zach as its just not working for him, even a move to 5 isn't as hung out as you would think and yet his confidence is still shot. I fear he will lose both team places soon and may consider a short break from the sport but has too much talent to not come back?
  13. Of course he will, its the done thing. Bit of confidence from a team that wants him and more importantly riding in position id wager he is on for 8 points.
  14. Whilst im sure costs are down for some it certainly looks a clanger to throw that may riders into the same qualifier (except for all those lucky enough to watch it). There are going to be higher calibre riders at Glasgow & Zarnovica that don't get through than some that do at the other venues.
  15. Sadly i can't see this one doing much for Somersets home attendance. Could quite possibly be a big thumping for Scunny here but hopefully they offer a bit of resistance and luckily with Ayres in the side there will always be 100% effort given.
  16. Certainly be interesting to see how Mark Riss fares in this competition? The pedigree suggests he will be at the sharp end when the championship draws to a close although smart money must still be on his German compatriot.
  17. Thats just what Scunny got humped by when they visited Leicester. However i would expect the Lions to go over 50 again this time. Richie out of form and Ruddick standing in at reserve still doesn't dent the home chances that much as RR for the visitors and riders who don't go that well upon the track. Its nice its a local derby but sadly the class difference between the two sides is a bit too wide.
  18. I know he was missing last night but Pavitt has 1 point from 8 rides so far this season which is a worry. Stoke don't have the star reserves but if both chipped in every meeting it could be the difference. IOW landed the points last night but had to rely on the spearhead again and full/piad maximums are not guaranteed every week. Verge is having a great year and RTD chipping in nicely but unusual off night for Chad and usual off night for Widman made it closer than it probably should have been.
  19. The preview has Spooner & Gilkes still out but Ablitt set to return with Clouting guesting and RR for Alex. Kent should still have enough fire power at home though as it would need the expected performances from Ayres & Edwards to be well backed by Brooks & Wallinger plus a reserve to mount a challenge. As for seasonal aspirations much will depend on how fit the others are when Leicester visit on June 10th as that looks potentially a really key match.
  20. Yep definitely early days and plenty of team changes to come yet throughout the league and bad luck can strike any side but still fear this will be the battle of the bottom 2.
  21. Fingers crossed silly things don't spoil the meeting tonight as it looks quite well balanced (providing all riders perform how they can). Warriors should have the edge here but there are plenty of question marks against both sides.
  22. The problems are numerous but expectation is probably the greatest of them all. Eagles fans have become used to winning matches and trophies but expecting to be strongly competitive in the first season back up whilst maintaining the local British ethos is optimistic at best. Historically away success is nice but home wins are what most want ad in all fairness home demolitions are what a lot of Eagles fans desire. However with 25% of the league fixtures done play off hopes already look slim so the promotions best bet is to build or work with the team to get Fortress Arlington back rather than strengthen for their travels.
  23. So Perks signs for Swindon. Its been widely circulated that riders can only do 2 leagues this year and not all 3 so guess its so long cubs? I guess Jack Thomas is already nicely set to replace him if that is the case?
  24. In fairness Morley's average was up a little due to his knowledge of Lakeside last year but in the majority of meetings this year he has been getting 4-5, couple of duffers at Glasgow & Leicester but won't be the only rider to do that. Whilst progress hasn't been rapid it was unrealistic to expect him to end up on a 6+ point ave by now. What better 2 point riders are about to replace Wood & Bowtell? If either is released they will be snapped up elsewhere. Not sure that Dan Spiller could come in on less than a 4.00 average and Ethan was not high enough in standard last time he was over.
  25. I thought Mark Riss had retired......although i was then told he was also going to focus on Longtrack now so what do i know!
