Mildenhall V Kent (nt) - 6th July 2014
Old Crusader replied to Mimmo's topic in National League Speedway
Seems like a toss up between the weather or Mildehall winning today. Let's hope it's on and Kent at full strength surprise us with a win. Will only happen if Simon & Ben M are on top form.To be fair Benji is just back from injury. Who's covering for Aaron today? -

Interesting comment about Len. When did he say this? For a business man that is suicide. The reason I'm interested is that although he's the co-promter at Kent he seems to be calling all the shots! We seem to be heading the same way! But as he said he's the oldest speedway promoter in the WORLD. -

Well spotted. I didn't think that Brendan was returning either yet. Where is Garrad?

Thanks TMW I think I'm starting to get the drift (excuse the pun) now Kent Kings got an airing on BBC Radio Kent this morning. Len Silver, David Mason, Simon Lambert and Danny Ayres were interviewed. If you want to listen go to BBC Radio Kent online. It was the early morning show with John Warnett and the time was about 8:45 am.

So Benji is back and Luke has to make way. Interesting explanation on the Kings website. I still don't understand how, as Len says you have teams out there that far exceed the points limit now but we have to stick to a limit when changing our team. He wants the rules changed and I agree. Wish I knew and could understand what the current rules are.

The latest statement from the co-promoter of the Kings seals our fate this season. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.25834 We won't be challenging for any honours this season, maybe next year, if there are any fans left.

Absolutely gutted! I got rare permission to leave work early to race down to the stadium in time for the start. Wish I hadn't bothered. Stoke riders got faster and Kent went slower! I bet Mr Vatcher was impressed with Ben. Even when we got out of the gate the Stoke riders passed us in the first lap. David Mason especially seems to lack speed. I thought it was hard on Aaron when was excluded but from the main stand it was difficult to see who was at fault. Jason Garrad was well off the pace but was probably to be expected. Simon and Danny were unlucky in the first running of Heat 4. However have to entirely agree with everything said by Greyhoundp

This looks like a very tasty encounter. Should be some good competitive racing but I expect Kent to win. What do others think?

I think you'll find he's a bit hacked off at the moment. According to his twitter feed he wants to ride for Coventry. May be a heat of the moment thing though.

I don't know when you last attended but when I went on the last Bank holiday I thought the track improved and the presentation fine. I wish I could make it from my workplace for 6.30pm. Looking forward to when the start time goes back an hour!

Considering the Demons line-up and the fact that we have Ben and Simon, this looks as though it should be a comfortable win for the Kings. Famous last words?
-
Sorry I don't get to Rye much these days. What is the story with the landfill, if you don't mind revealing it?
-
Why? Is it due to the weather forecast?
-
Brilliant post TWG! I'm much better informed now and chewing my nails.
-
I can't believe there is still no preview on the Kings website! The promotion should be building some excitement/ anticipation for every home meeting they put on! Words are failing me now.
-
Who will be riding for Leicester? No news on this meeting on K Kings website.

Kent V Coventry Mon 2nd June
Old Crusader replied to Old Crusader's topic in National League Speedway
Thanks for your reply RocketBen 1, but it seems more complicated than I thought. So you are allowed to replace one of your riders to his average. But if you want to replace others you can only do that to the 40 points limit. That would mean that Cradley could only replace one rider as they are at 54.24 way over 40. Is that right, I know it's difficult to word? -

I think I'm beginning to understand the team points building limits once the season has started but can someone confirm if I have it right. I've never looked into it that deeply before. The maximum team points at the start of the season I believe is 40. However if you wish to or have to replace riders during the season this is based on the GSA at certain times in the year. At the moment based on the latest GSA, Kent have a total of 37.12 points. Therefore is that the limit we can build to? Whereas Cradley are at 54.24. So if they lose a rider/s they can build back to that total? -
Followed the match at Mildly on pb yesterday and was quite impressed the way we fought back must have been quite exciting if you were there. Thought we were coming away with a point! However faded again at the end. We will need to be on top form today and keep the pressure up. Hopefully at home we will have an advantage? 4 points from a heat leader is not good enough. I expect Aaron to perform like last week and sure Danny and Luke will fair better at home. Let's see if we can s n a t c h all the points today LOL!

Looks as though this will be another tough encounter for the Kings. But you never know, if the team clicks together on the day we might a point. What do others think? Don't know why there are hashes in my post, not me, the word I used was s n a t c h.

We'll have to wait for the Kings new team declaration now. No news on the Kings site at the moment. Aarons first meeting could be back at Mildenhall, which should be a bonus for the Kings.
