Thanks Ash, I can just about follow that, well explained. Well I didn't think that was too bad against Cradley away. Pity that Jack got that knock in Ht 6 and then to rub salt into the wounds was excluded. Disappointing that Danno didn't pick up any points from the reserve berth. Was brilliant listening to the live commentary on BBC WM it felt like you was actually there. Wish BBC Kent would do the same for us at Sittingbourne! Looking forward to Monday at CP now!

Who is eligble to take the RR for Aaron and is it one ride per rider?
-
With new additions to the team it will be interesting to see how they go. However I'm a bit puzzled by the announcement on the Kings web site. It says RR for Aaron in one sentence but in the team it has Hoskins and Smith. Which is correct? Surely we're not blooding two new riders in one night or does Chris think there's not a lot to loose and see who's most promising?

I last saw Danny ride at home v Kings Lynn and he looked smooth fast and in control. Even an opposition fan commented that he had come on a lot since last year. He is obviously very volatile when he gets frustrated. I also read that it was something to do with his bike at Rye House which was supposed to have been sorted. Obviously not. He needs guidance like they all do and is there anyone with experience to give it. Do we have a calm experienced mentor in our pits? If not, how will these lads progress without injuring themselves and others?
-
As has been said by others a team of 7 cannot carry three under achievers. They have had plenty of time. In previous years changes were made much more swiftly. Perhaps there were more riders to go around. However what have you got to loose, try another rookie. It's a shame because we have a good nucleus in Ben, Aaron, James and Danny. I think the writing was on the wall before a wheel was turned when Adam, Rikki, and Jamie were all offered a team place. At least Danno had some experience. Perhaps if there is not already, the guys could do with a mentor. When Eastbourne were at CP there was Martin Dugard and Paul Hurry in their corner. They could ask, is it me or is my machinery not good enough? Even when some of the three have been first from the gate they get easily passed and seem so slow, is it their bike or is it there ability? They need advice from experienced ex riders.

I think this is the final straw. Make changes or right off this season.

Rye House V Kent 6th June
Old Crusader replied to Dave Stummings's topic in National League Speedway
Looking at the preview on the Kings website I think we could have a chance of winning this. If Danny can show the form he did against Kings Lynn and Ben performs as we know he can, James and Aaron have a go and a few points from the others may just tip the scales in our favour. What do others think, or am I being naive? -
Mildenhall V Kent 19th April
Old Crusader replied to Old Crusader's topic in National League Speedway
I read that Jack Kingston will be back for this meeting. -
I fancy the Kings could get a result here as Mildenhall unfortunately have lost a couple of riders recently. However they may have some good guests and we may not have Danny Ayres due to his hand injury.
-
Does anybody have any news with regards to Danny Ayres injured hand? We have our first league meeting at Mildenhall on Sunday, will he be fit to ride?
-
Interesting to see Dan Berwick is in the line up. Is he making a come back, will he ride for the Kings?
-
Jake Rennison who rode for Canterbury late 60's suffered with polio as a child. I'm not sure how it affected him as a rider though?
-
Gustix I'm surprised at you that's lazy. Only joking! I'm going to make all efforts to get off work early to see this and support the kings. I can't believe we've got to this point. Well done! It's very disappointing about the planning application but I've not given up hope. If I was Mr Cearns and had got this far I would fight tooth and nail. It would be a tragedy if this venue cannot progress in speedway terms. I know I'm biast as a speedway fan though. I started watching speedway in 1969 at Canterbury where I lived and for as long as I can remember betting was strictly prohibited. Is there an angle to be gained as it is now allowed? Could the bookies who operate at the track cover speedway nights and generate some more interest and support? I don't know anything about betting as i only do the lottery. Maybe some of the complainers like a bet?

Was looking forward to being able to attend this one as it's a Bank Holiday. However the weather forecast looks dreadful. Does anyone know the make up of the teams? Even the wife said she'd go! She hasn't been to a live meeting for over 12 years! But then she's not a fan, just goes along with me if it suits her. But if she likes it she may want support her local team.

Who will lead the Kings into battle now Simon is out through injury? A real shame as he was really going well! Thought we were going to be in with a real chance of revenge over the Potters. Can we have a guest or will it be R/R? The real irony is he got injured guesting for Stoke!!
-
Because we can. That's what a forum is about. The info on here is usually more accurate and up to date than the Kings site. I don't want to read a load of waffle either just whose riding in each team. We can then discuss their potential on here.
-
I know there is a lot more exciting meetings happening over this weekend but who are in the teams competing Monday? What with illness, injuries, fast track etc you never know who's going to turn up!
-
Well done the Kings at Devon. Especially Simon 18 pt Max Danny 10 Aaron 9 Jason 4. How we did that with no Ben's Morley, Compton, David Mason is weird. however both teams had RR and two guests. But a wins a win and I'll take that. Does anybody know where half our team were?
-
Couldn't have put it better myself, well done. I think Morley must have some bad machinery/engine problems at the moment although he always seems to come up trumps for Lakeside but can't perform yet at Premier league, puzzling.
-
We're usually missing 3 riders so I still think you'll win by a fair margin, we won't be 'even stevens'.
-
I dread to think but I reckon Kent might manage 17! I always buy a programme but just releived I didn't spend my hard earned on a cap or jacket or such like. No offence, just having a laugh!
-
Has someone put a curse on the Kent Kings, I don't think I've seen such a bad run of luck apart from what Rye House are suffering. I can hear people saying the common denominator is Mr Silver but he wasn't riding! There must be a curse on him and Mr Sampford. Both teams have potential but are not living up to it. It's bizarre! Actually I remember this sort of bad luck when I followed Canterbury and Sittingbourne Crusaders. Perhaps it has something to do with old promoters, poor old Johnnie bless him.
-
As you say, his family have a history that goes back a long way in speedway. But Roger has been out of touch with the sport for a long time. If he knows what he wants to do then you're right, he needs to 'smell the coffee' and take over himself or appoint someone who will carry our his wishes on his behalf. But he is probably putting his trust in the oldest living promoter in the world. You can't get anymore experienced than that, can you?
-
I don't disagree with you but who would take over? Mr Cearns doesn't have any speedway experience and I don't think he wants to learn.
-
How are we going to stem the tide? Desperately need a win especially at home. Will David be fit? Will Ben be a number 1 rider tonight? Can Luke score a point or two? Let's hope so.
