The team (iirc it was something like Kenni, Deek, Rene Bach, Dakota North, Lemo, Jason King and Anders Andersson) would probably win the Premiership now, let alone the Championship. Great days.
-
Sorry to see that Kenni has packed it in. Sad but not unexpected news. (I'm taking that from the SStar - sorry if it's been posted already).
-
Do you disagree that the standard this year is markedly lower than in previous seasons? Heat 2 is in danger of becoming an embarrassment - in my opinion.

Well, the best of luck to him. But I'm not enthused with the 2.00 limit or with the points limit generally - I think we're at the bottom limit of professional racing now. The very best of luck to him. But I'm not enthused with the 2.00 minimum or with the points limit generally - I think we're now at the floor of what is an acceptable level for professional racing

That we might consider shedding points at the top end to give us potential at reserve.

I'm sure you aren't the only person to have had that thought, Dandelion...

Scotland's B Team Vs Scotland's A Team
Terrace Grumbler replied to kermitfrog's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I may know less about the sport than I used to but I'd struggle to put together one 1-7 of Scottish riders. Suggestions anyone? -
Well that's she a lot of light on the situation, thanks all. I'll acknowledge you all in my forthcoming ten-volume Morocco-bound work, which I have provisionally entitled "Lost in the Third Bend Hole - The Men Who Polished The Diamonds". I haven't got that far with it yet; volume 1 will be Andrew Dalby to Barry Wallace while volume 2 looks like Bollocks to Diamond Dan.
-
If I recall correctly Eic Thornton is - or was said to be - a man of the cloth who, although he does not actually attend meetings, is sufficiently in the know to dash off the match report and (as it was then) the Diamonds column in the Star.

Newcastle V Berwick (sgbc) 09/04/2017
Terrace Grumbler replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Newcastle may run too many last places today. We can't be there which is a shame as I was looking forward to seeing Lewis B again. -
Just a thought on reading the preview edition of the SStar: are Barry, Eric Thornton and "fan" Doug Parker the same person? I don't think I've ever seen them in the same photo. We should be told!
-
Who's that, then?
-
For me? Ashley at #2, Lewi at #3 and Ludde at #4 I think Lewis would keep Lud on his toes and it would give us one of our tall scorers in heat 14. We're so pleased the season is just round the corner...is there any sign of The White Knight returning to BP?

Bring back AndrewbTully, I say!* *I don't really

From the point of view of being entertained on a Sunday evening I'm delighted to see RL back: but I hadn't thought he would re-sign and from a strictly results perspective was wondering about replacing him with Tero. If we had done that, the BCB could have filled his boots at #6 - I think a good number of matches will be won at reserve next season. Thank you so much to the club for organising this evening - rather a shame I was driving! It was great entertainment and my daughter enjoyed it as well - she is 12 and she'd not been in s concert room before - eyes like saucers!

Ludde in 2017? Yes, please. Ludde in 2017? Yes, please.

I think that Garrity is, or seems to be, one of the very few heirs to the tradition of riders whose personality shines out from beneath the helmet - Banger, Sean Wilson, Biffer Beveridge and Jason Lyons to name only a few. People whose attitude shone out (for better or worse). We have had what appeared to be troublesome riders in the past (e.g. Boxall, Hauzinger) and I'm sure George will know exactly who he wants for 2017, but I would welcome Garrity.
-
As regards Garrity, don't underestimate George's mam-management skills Or his man management skills even.

Garrity is a latter day Derrol Keats. Loved Dangerous, me.

This I like, with DP at #7.
