  1. Is that where you're staying Shazzy? It would be great to see you again.
  2. Anyone else staying at St David's hotel at the bay?
  3. The only thing that needs banning is Ole bloody Olsen from touching the tracks.
  4. "Pedersen clearly ran into Crump". - Sam Ermolenko yet again talking bollox. Please please can Sky get rid of this complete & utter tosser.
  5. Brilliant days entertainment, best wishes to Craig & David, big thumbs down to the incompetent staff in the ten pinbowling food hall - tossers, had a great day & good to catch up with False Dawn again, £4 per programme was a bit steep though.
  6. Blimey I do remember some bird smiling at me....I thought to myself either my flies are open or she's just farted.......sorry I didn't recognise you. Next time buy me a pint & I promise I'll smile back at you.
  7. All that trouble I went to having my hair done, buying a new outfit, shoes etc. & you couldn't even be arsed to come & say hello.
  8. That last race was worth the admission money alone. If Lee Complin had ridden any wider he could have filled my programme in for me on the way round. Great meeting, great turnout, best wishes to Richard Hall & Moggo, & can I just say that Garry Stead comes across as a really nice genuine lad who has every right to wallow in self pity & anger, but who instead has impressed me so much with his positive attitude. I know there will be good days & bad days, but I wish him all the very best for the future. Good to see a few forum members again, think I might pop along to Kings Lynn tonight.
  9. I swear I heard my sat nav say "f**k it, I give up". Is there any part of Sheffield that isn't being dug up?
  10. I was given the 6 dvd box set for Christmas after deciding not to buy it myself as I thought it wouldn't be much cop being so cheap. Well I was wrong. Up until now each Grand Prix DVD has been selling for £20 - £25 (which is why I didn't buy them), but the 6 DVD set was brilliant & well worth £20. I'll certainly be ordering a copy of the Cardiff GP (even with the threat of Nigel Pearson commentating), & well done to the people responsible for selling quality DVD's at sensible prices. Any chance of a free copy for being so nice?
  11. Flippin 'eck Shazzy, why didn't you say hello? I didn't see you.
  12. First of all congratulations to Chris "Bomber" Harris, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Commmiserations to Nikki P, Hans & all the other riders who crashed, unlike some tossers near me I didn't cheer when they went headfirst into the fence. It's a pity some people can't think of anything origional to post on the forum, & yes, the banner saying "taxi for Mr Pedersen" did make me laugh.
  13. I was lurking in the POW, but stayed downstairs. Nice to meet up with Nevs, London Witch & False Dawn again. Saw a couple of other forumers but didn't have the nerve to say hello.
  14. Cracking meeting, Holder, how on earth did he stay on his bike? Track should have been graded earlier, although I can understand why they held off watering it (probably still got a hosepipe ban in place). Well done to all the riders, I hope they aren't feeling too battered & bruised.
  15. You're an ex-Leicester supporter who lives on an island 9 hours away?
  16. I had a great time. Bought a hotdog for a quid, them stood in the rain drinking a cup of coffee....took me 3 hours to finish it.
  17. from the speedway museum & it's looking good. I'd like to thank Linda & George Barclay who made us feel very welcome & let us have a good look round all the memorabilia. Can I ask that as many of you as possible visit the museum when it opens, because Paradise Park is a fantastic place & you will have a full & very enjoyable day out ( & if it's on a Saturday you can call in at Rye House which is just down the road) before you go home. Once again thank you to everyone for your hospitality, I know all your hard work will be worth it. Lt.
  18. Sorry I posted the following in the general speedway section before I realised there was a speedway museum section. Thought you might be interested to know I'm delivering my collection of race jackets to the speedway museum on Saturday. I hope you all get the chance to see them, & support this fantastic & much needed museum. Lt
  19. Thank you for the Ray Wilson interview. I'm not ashamed to say he was my first real sporting hero. He was the sportsman who I most wanted to emulate & he inspired me to try my hand at speedway. I bought the leathers off him that he wore when he lead England to victory in the world cup at Wembley & I wore them with pride as I wobbled round trying to be a proper speedway rider even when I used to get booed at Coventry lol. My biggest regret is selling them. Thank you Ray for being my hero & an inspiration, you are a true legend & you are still my hero.
  20. I bet a pound to a pinch of sh*t you nicked their hubcaps before you went home though.
  21. Funnily enough Gem, I've been to Swindon, Oxford & within half a mile of the Coventry track today, & I actually thought to myself, I must make a real effort to visit Oxford & Swindon again next season.
  22. The thing is, as a speedway supporter I'm used to slashing in foul smelling fly blown swamps, but it's the new supporters who wouldn't be impressed. As someone else said, it wouldn't have taken much effort to get a broom & sweep some of the water away before opening the turnstiles. Also, I might have paid 50p for the privelage of buying a drink before the meeting, but after following the sign to the bar through the flooded bogs, & back again, I politely asked the guy by the grandstand gate how to get to the bar, only to be muttered at "up there & it'll cost you 50p", before he turned away & lost interest before I'd even thought about crossing his palm. Like I said, I enjoyed myself yesterday, but hopefully the Newport management will take note of comments like mine & try a little harder to make an impression on the first timers. I'll be back next year, let's hope they are too.
  23. You've obviously never tasted Everards beer, give me a pint of p*** anyday.
