  1. Apologies, it's probably down to me not wording it very well. I should of said he's the new promoter.
  2. Dave Darcy announced as the new owner of Leicester speedway.
  3. I always know when we've got a new postman, or a temporary one because my magazine arrives a day late and is almost always unpicked (slightly opened) in one corner. I guess that's because it's sent in a plain brown envelope. Poor old postie must be gutted when he peeps inside the envelope and sees pictures of men dressed in leathers.......there again.....
  4. Good decision by the BSPA. I personally wouldn't cross the road to watch the mercanary little pillock or his grinning sidekick Handoncock. Bog off and continue to peddle your wares overseas.
  5. I'm sorry bit Simon Lambert has been given two chances at Leicester, at both premier & elite league level & has failed at both. He consistently pulls up before the end of a race & never ever acknowledges the fans at the end of a race. No thanks.
  6. RIP Dave, you were very much a part of the best time in speedway, the 1970's.
  7. I don't care how much money Monster throws at the sport, they should NOT be allowed in the pits area crawling all over their sponsored riders. Red Bull don't do it and neither do any of the other riders sponsors. It's bad enough watching the riders constantly sucking on straws like a bunch of six year olds all the time without the so called Monster pigging Joe gathering his little band of riders round him like some infants school playground gang. Also, in a sport which now allows betting, speedway has to be very careful in my opinion over allegations of race fixing. The sport never recovered fully following the People's expose thirty odd years ago.
  8. Never been fooled by the Mr Nice Guy Crap. Good rider, but he & his monster gang of mercenary bullies are, in my opinion the worst thing that has happened to speedway in a very long time. Can't stand Hancock or Woffinden & as for that tosspot MonsterJoe, get rid quick while speedway still has an ounce of credibility left.
  9. Dave Darcy was interviewed on Radio Leicester this morning (I didn't know Radio Leicester knew we had a speedway team). He stated categorically that the Lions would be riding in the Elite League next season, with new sponsors, although he couldn't say any more until after the AGM.
  10. Meeting postponed again until 22 October. Someone's taking the piss now. Can't be bothered anymore.
  11. I don't post much in here nowadays, but a few things really puzzled me watching last night's meeting. 1) How can Coventry supporters complain about the stadium being sold for redevelopment if they don't bother to turn up to support the sport? 2) How can our sport ever be taken seriously when you have a team manager, who's team is being well and truly thrashed (at that time), standing behind his riders making stupid "bunny" ears, and laughing? 3) How can our sport ever be taken seriously when a team manager being interviewed on Sky, when his team has just been beaten at home, babbles on about wanting to get to the chip shop? I really don't want to see Brandon demolished, but Coventry came across as a bit of an unprofessional joke last night to be honest, with absolutely no passion being shown whatsoever.
  12. Shiny new stadium in Swindon next year? More chance of me porking the Queen.
  13. Is there any other sport that insists on showing one man & his dog in the crowd after every bloody race & one man & his dog when the riders are on the winners rostrum? Oh & Woffinden swigging from his bottle continually during the Danish national anthem, ignorant .......
  14. Sad news to arrive home to. Another of the original websliders who have left us. RIP Shazzy.
  15. As a staunch Leicester supporter I think someone's taking the Fosters. There is no way on God's earth I'm going to buy a season ticket to watch national league speedway. We've joined the so called elite league to have more local teams to ride against & we've replaced one of them. The sport I love is a bloody joke.
  16. Brilliant. So I'm now paying more than I did last year to watch National League speedway now that we've been promoted into the Elite league. Is it just me who's seriously missed something here?
  17. Oh God, what have we done? Am I seriously expected to pay more next season for two Elite league season tickets, to watch National league riders? A lower standard than I was watching in the Premier league??????
  18. Thanks for that. We get enough sh*t from our own so called supporters.
  19. Fair comment & I hold my hands up. It's obvious that the pro & anti Leicester posters in here are never going to agree, so for the sake of my ever increasing blood pressure I'm going to just stop reading any of the posts & get on with what I enjoy most, watching speedway & supporting my team. Good luck to the Lions, lets hope we finish with a bit of silverware at the end of the year, & I hope everyone has a safe & successful season.
  20. Lol I rest my case. Goodnight Robert. x Funny how Robert signed out just before you signed in isn't it.
