  1. I lost respect for him after seeing him smack his mechanic round the head after a televised race. If that had been me, I would have smacked him back.
  2. Lawson would have been my first signing if i was in charge. For me he was the rider of the year and him and Fricke were such a good pairing. Masters isn't a heat leader at this level i'm afraid and isn't consistent enough to carry Becker.
  3. The Crewe track was round a cricket pitch.
  4. Very sad news, one of my favourite riders. RIP Malcolm
  5. I'm just reading the latest guff in the speedway star. Does anyone really believe that this will ever materialise? Absolute pigsh1t from Russell & that w@nker Osbourne. 😡
  6. I was at the stadium today & it looks a mess. Fingers crossed speedway is able to return soon (by soon I mean next season).
  7. Well perhaps i'm just easily pleased. Sounds like i'll be the only one turning up for the next meeting, but if anyone else does bother, i'll be the one in the grandstand wearing rose coloured glasses.
  8. I apologise for having an opinion different to yours. End of.
  9. Well after fifty five years following my two teams Leicester & Long Eaton, I thoroughly enjoyed last night's meeting. To all those who continually slag off the track, racing & everything else to do with Leicester speedway, may I suggest that you find something else to do on a Thursday night, before you have no speedway team to support. And to all those idiots who said there was no overtaking last night, what planet were you watching from, because I saw plenty off overtaking.
  10. Is anyone else having problems with the picture breaking up? Coverage has been crap tonight.
  11. How come Simon Stead didn't get a medal? Very poor that.
  12. I've always supported Lambert in the past, but tonight be confirmed what a jumped up little twonk he is. "The track was a joke" "I've already had a word with the referee about Thursday." I'm pigged off with these end of season mercenaries turning up for a big end of season pay day, who probably end up with a league winners medal, but don't give a chuff about British speedway. If you can't be arsed to commit to a full season riding over here, don't bother to turn up for a couldn't give a sh*t which team I ride for, for the last two weeks of the season, big bonus.
  13. Nice gesture from the Lions management. They have released a statement tonight saying that, instead of giving out whistles to the fans if they qualify for the play offs, they will give each season ticket holder a free spliff as a thank you from the riders for supporting them through this difficult season.
  14. Second week back with the Royal Mail, Friday afternoon, too late for today's postman & still no sign of the Star. Not impressed.
  15. As Leicester season ticket holders who have travelled the country watching speedway for the last 54 years, my wife & I have decided we will not be paying out over the top entrance fees for a watered down stocking filler of a meeting like this. If the top Premier league riders can't be arsed, then neither can we. More proof if proof is needed, that however much you try, you really can't polish a t*rd.
  16. Who the hell designed this week's front cover? Chris Holder looks about 90. I really do think the front covers are long overdue a makeover as they are now the same old every week. Just my opinion of course, if people disagree with me, I'm happy with that.
  17. Yes i thought that was a great gesture, especially from a guest.
  18. Wouldn't make any difference to the rider if the crowd have their heads down or not. Most of the Lions riders don't even look at or acknowledge the crowd on either the track walk, or on the lap of honour.
  19. I'm currently in the process of listing my entire collection of speedway memorabilia, which i have decided to sell. I sold my collection of race jackets recently and having retrieved over fifty years of stuff from my bulging loft, it was fascinating to go through it all and find things that i had forgotten i had. The one thing that i wont sell however, is a signed, framed picture of Bill Kitchen that his wife asked him to sign whilst literally on his deathbed. It must be the last autograph he ever signed and it takes pride of place in my office at home.
  20. R.I.P. Steve, I really enjoyed our trips to Cardiff together.
  21. R.I.P. big Al. Had the pleasure of spending some time with him in his workshop & house, a really nice guy.
  22. I was talking to someone last week & he was telling me he used to go to Blackbird Road & loved speedway. His next comment was "it's a real shame Leicester hasn't got a track now". He was amazed when i told him they did have one & it had been there for over a decade. Sadly, speedway is the best kept secret in Leicester. It's never mentioned on either of the Midlands local news stations, or anywhere else for that matter, not even when we did the double in 2019.
