  1. Berwick love giving teams a thumping this season! What is the record for 4 point away wins in a season since their introduction?
  2. It was random!!! Well it actually wasn’t it was a controlled display by Berwick in a match there they should have had a few more points on the board!
  3. Ow joy the great bogeyman is back “just wait and see how poor Berwick is on the TV”. That bogeyman isn’t as scary this time as it was last year after Berwick produced an excellent meeting on the TV, which Nigel and Kelvin actually explained rather well. As they so often do, both do a great job getting the sport over. Rather than worrying about meetings that can be poor, I will stick to anticipating what could be a great battle between two sides who are starting to form a decent rivalry this season due to the balance of both teams.
  4. For years Workington have put together sides that have been grossly overrated at the start of the season. There is no hard luck story this year, they just have a very average 1-7.
  5. Based on current form, probably not! Nothing wrong with wishful thinking though. Clubs need to use when they can to promote and get fans through the turnstiles, it is sensible to use Edinburgh’s current run of results as a selling point?
  6. Predicting that a side who have went 23 matches unbeaten will win a match isn’t random.
  7. And nor can Berwick, Berwick fans, or the Berwick track. The Newcastle track had improved in recent years, for a pretty sustainable period actually and so much so that (like Berwick) it had changed the general narrative that was written before a wheal was turned. I hope that, whatever the problems are, they can get them sorted.
  8. No That it is. The discussion might be a bit healthier if the Berwick fan (customer’s) comment is taken for what it is then rather than the need for the defensive attitude of some.
  9. From what I have read the Berwick fan who attended the meeting (Newcastle v Plymouth) and commented on the track was actually a paying customer. Labelling customers, tarring them with a brush or going on the defensive when they make a point regarding the product that they are watching doesn’t strike me as a particularly healthy attitude.
  10. I fail to see what relevance the Berwick track has to this thread, and if I were using another track as a reference point to say “look at how things are there” it probably wouldn’t be the FIM approved track. But if a meeting at Berwick is what impacts the Newcastle track I suppose that is another thing to add to the list.
  11. They could have shown Edinburgh at home and we would have all had the chance to relive that Speedway classic served up from there on Sky a few years ago But it seems we never will as Sky haven’t shown an interest in returning to the racing mecca that is Armadale, second visit in two years to Berwick though.
  12. Kus has scored paid 11, 12, 6 & 8 on his last 4 visits to Owlerton while in the top 5 and against sides stronger than the current Sheffield team. He has also done that while short on confidence and in form far worse than he is currently in It is a hindrance to Berwick to be without him rather than an advantage
  13. if you are one of the people who get their thrills from knowing peoples personal problems watch Jeremy Kyle, that show as made for people like you. In this instance it is pretty clear that what is going on in the person involveds life is absolutely none of your business.
  14. It appears -- and we do not wish to breach confidences -- he is experiencing acute personal emotional problems which were severely compounded by a family telephone call during the meeting, which affected him to such an extent he felt no longer able to carry out his official duties. http://www.berwickbandits.co/article/bandits-boss-apologises It does actually. The forum/social culture and the need to know every detail is quite repulsive.
  15. I think that the poster you are quoting knows more about the situation than you. I don’t think that you have backed up your earlier post with either fact or substance, just your opinion. Thanks for taking the time to reply though.
  16. Can you expand on this post? It seems like someone just taking a bit of a hissy fit rather than there being any substance or fact.
  17. It was evidently called off because the sport is risky enough at the best of times let alone when rider’s visibility is decreased. The “throttle goes both ways” but asking riders to go around at half pace, with low visibility is both cheating the public and risking the riders safety. I think that people forget that as well as being GP riders, the riders also have family’s and children that they probably think of when fans are expecting them to hurtle around in dangers conditions for the sake of another couple of minutes of “entertainment” if that is what you call riders risking their necks.
  18. You are having a go at riders because they didn’t want to risk an injury? This place is a nut house.
  19. Newcastle went down the top heavy route once before when they got their team building wrong. The year they signed Bjarne and Robson and it didn’t really work then either. Yes, it was a while ago but I think that when you sacrifice the bottom end to accommodate someone with an average in excess of 9.80 + you are asking for trouble, and a defeat to that Redcar side is trouble.
  20. The guy who used to race for Newcastle about 15 years ago? Surely not?
