Yes, that’s something we have all encountered while in Cardiff, the people of Cardiff wandering around all weekend pointing saying “ow don’t they dress funny” that definitely happened, happens all the time, it is all you hear.

What kind of a twit turns up at Speedway and says “it is like watching racing surrounded by Train Spotters”….. There are a small % of people who attend speedway who are old or wear dated clothing other than that most of the people in attendance are just ordinary dressed people who you wouldn’t look twice at on the street - despite being "geeky" about the workings sport I don't think there is a "geek" element to it, any regular of any sport is a "geek" by that definition eg guys cheering fat blokes chucking sticks at a board is as "geeky" as it gets if you wish to boil things down on such a simplistic level

There isn’t a logic to what you are saying though - it is just straw man creation as shown by your “the fans have been treated like mushrooms” comment, how does that even apply in this particular instance? Woffinden and Lambert didn’t attend an open practice session. It might have been an optional invite and likely wasn’t even supposed to be as high profile as it seems to have become on here given it has never been announced on the BSPA site etc or so on. You have said it is expected fans turn up for meetings, yes but not on the proviso all riders attend a spurious practice sessions. There isn’t a correlation between what you say “wanting the National Team to do well” and this session - On the basis of “I want the National Team to do well” I could demand they practice 24/7 and then position it is as me being offended if they don't but in reality I would be talking nonsense. No one, not one person has set out to lie to you or hide something from you here or set out to damage the National Teams chances.
-
With all due respect, what are you talking about….. In the grand scheme of things it isn’t actually impacting you either way if a rider was or wasn’t at a practice session yesterday.

I enjoy and like loads of things that seemingly irk loads of people, must be in my nature to be a nark. The tactical nature of the sport that runs right through it from track, to programme to team structure. I enjoy the team building aspect of the sport, seeing sides structured and built over the course of winter and how it plays out on track. I like things like variety, 4s, Pairs, Individual, Team Meetings. I also oddly enough enjoy things like tactical rides, guests and even on occasion R/R and seeing how sides and managers negate different situations. Always felt these are things that could have been pushed as USP’s for the sport in a geeky tactical war games style. The fact there is such a wide and varied range of tracks and surfaces to test riders abilities and team attributes. Always felt these sort of things pulled together would have made for a strong computer game which could have helped with the sports image in the way other sports seemed to kick on and find new audiences on the back of decent computer games. Albeit in reality they probably would have only appealed to a niche audience….an audience of speedway fans.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

So what if he did go to Vegas? Good, good on him and thank Christ he is still in a position where he can - and great that he has a home that will afford him as comfortable a position as possible in later life, that is an amazing thing, great to see that for an injured rider. You’re comments re what is made by him, and was or wasn’t made by others is flat out disrespectful to the people of in particular Berwick and Sheffield who put on meetings and events to raise funds for Ashworth, it is disrespecting any fan in the country who put their hand in their pocket and contributed to guys like Ricky Ashworth, any injured rider or the SRBF, it is distasteful - you’re just to dense to realise that, either that or posting it with the sole intention of provoking a reaction which makes you an absolute cretin, as is anyone that shares that thought with you - making reference to others who supposedly think like you offers no validity to your thoughts or posts, not one single iota. -

No, no it isn’t – you are deluded. The vast majority of right minded people don’t become “fed up” with someone who ends up in a wheelchair as a result of a speedway accident. You, and whoever the hell would spend time in your company might have led yourself to believe “a lot of people” think that, they don’t. They may have grown tired of Ward’s general behaviour and conduct pre-injury but that is not connected to his state of peril or what has happened to any other rider irrespective of their nationality, people can and do separate the two things. You are showing yourself up to be a complete and utter moron referencing “DW43” in the way you do. As a part of your brethren, the community you chose to join and seemingly understand so much about you should have the brains, the savvy and the sensitivity to be able to remove your thoughts about Ward the person and the situation he found himself in and how the speedway community reacted to it. You crass classless idiot. -

Posts like this are the reason people reply, because this utter gibberish doesn’t deserve to go unchallenged and also being utterly obliterated due to the completely insensitive nature of the content. Attempting to portion a form of guilt or even a slight tint of blame at a guy who ended up in a wheelchair over the Ricky Ashworth situation is vile, genuinely disgusting, it shows a complete lack of sensitivity or understanding towards both situations and the good work people put in to aid both riders. You should stop aligning yourself closely to injured riders or riders who passed away, its crass in its nature whether you either know them or are using their situation to spawn a reaction. -
Is that really unique to days gone by? Is that not the story of just about any rider who has ever raced in this country? The instances when a rider hasn't been loaned out are the ones where riders have progressed their career with their own club.

The top stars in the EL are riders like Doyle, Holder and Lindgren who have all been incredibly loyal to the league for the most part. If there was issues though resolve it the same way issues in speedway are always resolved….cash (and a bit of planning re dates and availability). An “EL weekender” would be a great idea (just as the 4s weekender is) - promote these events correctly, run it well first time and add word of mouth you will soon swell attendances IMO. It is the way of modern sport and sport attendees that they enjoy novelty events like this, the big game days held in Rugby Union which have now been introduced into Pro 12 etc, it has all followed on from the incredible success of one day Cricket, a trend speedway has been slow to react to if anything, but deserve praise for getting there now.

Robert72 stinks of MJJ, crass and utterly classless in an attempt to garner any kind of reply possible, but ultimately deserve to be ridiculed for their stupidity. If the idea of this thread was to create interest and see how many replies it could get it has taken a rather grotesque turn for the worst over the course of the last 5 pages or so. -

Run along and chat about speedway then rather than making an utter fool of yourself on here -

This thread is magic it's like watching flys to rubbish seeing Starmans need to chip in and now the "end this thread" while constantly contributing to the thread brigade Don't worry folks no one cares if you don't contribute to it -
You make it out like a 6 or 7 year old would come home like that....you have to be 18 before you can get a tatoo by that age it's entirely a life choice of a person if they wish to make that decision

Seems like the kind of thing a mechanic might try to get in a riders head* * I don't mean the sponge.

By who? You and a few other manchildren.... If you apply the same logic you have to Woffinden to the likes of Crump and Pedersen (who you admit you admire) then both are going to be remembered for their off track antics. Crump took a long time to mature, he spent years of his career acting like a petulant sh*t basically who swore his way through interviews, the swearing was something that carried on most of his career as he was a highly emotive rider. He also had a spell when his appearance was probably seen as unactable to the older generation, eg died long black hair, pierced eye brows etc….the horror of that "bad boy of the sport". Nicki well…..Nicki….he makes Woffinden look like a saint. FWIW, they all - Woffinden, Pedersen and Crump will actually be remembered as a great champions by the vast majority of fans as most don’t apply the same brass necked double standards you do. -
It’s like you sort of know what you want to say but don't actually say anything "you and the others on this thread who appear to have the problem" that's just a platitude, words for the sake of words, such a nothing statement….I am curios now, what problem do I have and what do I qualify as? What exact specific problem? Grand job by the way, despite not wanting to involve yourself in this thread, you have managed it….
-
Ow so it’s the part of the kettle. I qualify as what? homosexual? That’s what I “qualify” as based on posting on this forum? A post count of 687 means you “qualify” as someone who has a crush on Woffinden? Do you ever read what you type?
-
Yeah, that’s it I want to kiss him, I am attracted to him, it’s the tattoos you see…. Honestly, even by your standards what absolutely dross patter.
-
I am going to take a pass on your advice and keep replying away thanks, so...... maybe best to stop wasting your and other peoples time, but really mostly your time... by continually telling people to stop replying to threads.... So if it's that much an issue to you don't have to reply to this post....

Are you playing the part of the pot or the kettle today.....

Comparing the situation of Woffiden and the return to British Speedway to that of a player being sold by an English Football team, is, well, well I don’t know if it’s hilarious or utterly ridiculous, it is one or the other. I pity those are anti Woffinden the desperation is just sad, it is tragic to read grown men acting this way, mentioning things like appearance, tattoos and returns to British Speedway.
