Wolves V Poole Ela 5/5/14
Shale Searcher replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
HadWoffy misscounted? Some posters were only saying the other day that some riders don't even know who's winning let alone the score? Perhaps he thought they'd done enough in that heat...... -
Coventry V Lakeside 5th May
Shale Searcher replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sorry, the reply was not meant to be attached to your comment, struggling on android blooming phone!! It was in reference to an Adam Vickers remark about the track being slick... and perhaps it had been prepared that way with the rain threat.... -
Where Is British Speedway Going.
Shale Searcher replied to mc1874's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Slow down the bikes, add more dirt, ban all exotic materials, dump the joker, but most of all, the Elite League and Premier League need to work together!!! As it stands they never agree on anything.. until that happens nowt will or will be allowed to change.. At the moment, it's like Rugby League and Union, or WBF and WBC, constantly agreeing to disagree... -

It will take time for Chris Holder to get back to his pre-Coventry crash form, when Ray Wilson went under the fence at Blackbird Road in the seventies and got trapped under the greyhounds hare rail and broke his thigh, he never got back to his pre-crash form.... It's a bit different with the fact Chris Holder has age on his side, but some riders just don't regain their form after horror crashes.. -

Unlucky for Tom, promoters can't get much sleep these days with riders guesting/doubling-up and even trebleing up in some cases!! I know that word is dodgy, just went with android predictive!! Get well soon Tom. -

Also, I don't think riders are allowed to leave the track until the tapes have gone up on the last heat... Something to do with appeals.... Cob got stung the other year with this I have heard? Cov, not Cob!!!!!!!! Ooooops!! That'll teach me to read thread title properly! -
The Draft system was always going to be like this in its first year. How many clubs used to bring in unknown Poles, Fins, Swedes, sometimes, in fact most of the time it took half a season for them to become competent at completing 4 laps, let alone score points!! I think it's the fact fans have got so used to seeing "Ringer Reserves" especially over the last decade, some meetings heat 2 has been won in the same or quicker times than heat one! Go in, have a look at some old Speedway Stars from the 60's and 70's heat 2 race times........ They were mostly 3 to 4 seconds or more slower than heat ones..... Next year, how many of this year's drafts will be good enough to hold down a second string team place? I would hope 2 or 3 at least, there then should be at least one seasoned draft riders for each EL club to have one each, perhaps the number 7's ability/experience spread will be a touch hit and miss at the start of the season.. with some more New draft riders, but it's the right direction to go.... In my opinion.

I've done Scunny to Leicester in 68 minutes. Brandon only another 30 mins down the 69, should make it bar any delays..... -
Leicester V Belle Vue 3/5/14
Shale Searcher replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Speedway in the "good old days" was more like it is this year with regards to team make up.... most teams had a good 1 to 5, and mostly questionable reserves ability wise... Having "RINGER" reserves has been a trait of modern Speedway, reserves having 7 rides, notching up double figure scores had to stop.... -
Leicester V Belle Vue 3/5/14
Shale Searcher replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thats not the whole picture, ok, we 5-1'd in both reserve races, but they had a 7-2 tactical ride success, and were let down by Zagar, and Cook ran a last place as well...... Can't shovel all the blame on them, all the time..... -

Leicester Track Break In
Shale Searcher replied to Happy Hunter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well, here we go again! The thread is about the recent break-in at Leicester Speedway, it should contain sympathetic messages, perhaps offers of help to tidy up, perhaps loan offers of equipment etc, but NO, it has degenerated like every other thread involving Leicester Speedway into complaints about THE TRACK!!!!!! That subject has been done to death, and did not need bringing up in this thread.... What you lot gonna do come Saturday, if the stadium is ,not fit to open for the meeting against Belle Vue? then the next meeting, and the next? All of a sudden no track to slag off.... Well it would serve you all right. Disgusted..
