New Costs Coming Fir Riders
Shale Searcher replied to barncooseboy's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There has recently been a couple of manufacturers solely selling made to measure and standard sized Speedway cut leather racesuits, and did not seem over priced, didn't buy any so cannot comment on their quality or serviceability.... Anyone know anybody who's bought/tried them....? -
Where Is British Speedway Going.
Shale Searcher replied to mc1874's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Modern laydown bikes don't handle deep dirt very well, so I have been told on several occasions by riders and ex riders alike..... And the silencers make them even worse.., add in to the mix super light flywheels, slipper pistons and the engines just die in the dirt....... -

Leicester V King's Lynn Saturday June 7th

What a sorry state our beloved sport is at this level, what with foreign riders creating little or no loyalty with UK clubs or their fans, and the top foreign dogs using UK clubs to to obtain pre season training/testing before there Euro League seasons commence!! There just isn't any feeling of them being "our riders" anymore, can you still get riders photos centred in your clubs rosettes? Or are the rosettes centreless with a bit of Velcro, then you just but photos of who's riding for you tonight and bung um in the centre!! -
Do you honestly believe that?

He's like the proverbial "poo and fan scenario" sooner or later one of his statements will come true... Laguta/Leicester, Larsen/Coventry.... Law of averages say that summat he says will happen, will happen, just like the "poo and fan"!!!

Shale Searcher replied to Blackbird's topic in National League Speedway
Lions cubs won this, 47-46, very good meeting, last heat decider after Lions 14 pts up halfway stage... Jon Armstrong, blew away cobwebs scored a 6 tactical ride, beat quality opposition at this level, decent crowd in as well.. Well done to all concerned.......... Hope Alex Wright is ok after trip to hospital.. -

Eastbourne V Leicester 31/5
Shale Searcher replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yep! The old Blackbird Rd, raked and graded between each race... Apparently the riders don't want the dirt raking back, especially over the slick as its like riding on "marbles" and that's from the horses mouth... -

Was the Ryan & Fish crash the one mid track bend 3/4 that also took out 2 airbags? Had only just tuned in and saw that and then my pc crashed as well, so didn't find out who it was...... Looked nasty, but no intent.... -

Only managed to get glimpses of the meeting on bet365, who did the fish knock off and what heat was it......? From what I did see, turn two coming out, and turn three going in looked a tad diffiult tonight, bit rutty and a bit to much grip for comfort... -

It says on wiziwig Bwin and unibet, would this have any sort of commentary on it, or just picture and track announcer if lucky or unlucky, depending which track!!! -

Wiziwig is showing this meeting as being on Sky sports tonight!? Can anyone confirm this? -
Yes, what happened to the rev limiter? weren't they being trialled last season? How did it work? I cannot work out a safe method of limiting revs, surely if you are mid corner and you gave it a bag full of throttle, would the engine splutter and slow causing another bag full of grip which would fire you in a straight line to the fence? if you were flat out and bordering the rev limiter, how would you get the back end to break-out on a very grippy track without the extra burst of acceleration of the rear wheel? Again you end up spearing the air fence! Again!!

Leicester 2014 . Elite
Shale Searcher replied to jim the whipper's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Didn't know we'd been on bet365 3 times, even including away fixtures.....! Time to talk to Dave you lot, Tom, Dick and Abdi can't do anything on here...!!! -
IF you have 4 engines, made to exactly to the same spec, tolerances and materials, would they perform identically? Also assuming all the settings were identical and the same fuel/oil and plug were theSame. Initially on a test bed, then in identical rolling chassis with the same ignition system, gearing and finally tyres inflated to the same pressures... How long would it be before they started to perform measurably different, if they performed identically up until the "rider" was introduced......

Who's the new track man then.........?
