  1. Lakeside will be OK with the weather this evening as well, won't arrive until around 23:00/Midnight....
  2. Yep, the EL and PL are more akin to the WBC and WBA than the Football Premier League and Football League.......
  3. Rain due in West Midlands this evening and overnight, it's arrival and its strength is not 100% clear cut, might not rain till 8.30, then only light drizzle until after dark, pressure not falling as quickly, if pressure rocks back to originally predicted figures then rain from 18:00 check again 3pm.... (Not thundery, just possibly persistent) Convective stuff to follow after 12:00 Sat afternoon...
  4. Swindon v Kings Lynn was sh!te last night according to bet365 stream, strung out racing in a lot of the heats.. Definately an illness found in Speedway supporters, Rosus Tinteditus Glassesus.... No cure I'm afraid....
  5. It said in an earlier post the track would not be wide enough For FIM meetings and parts of the rugby pitch would be removed and track extended to meet FIM regs.. For GP and SWC they will lift part of the rugby pitch like they used to at Wembley... So that is exactly what I said and you replied no!
  6. It's not the riders fault, he wants to ride and earn money, it's the promoters choice....... Stick with an inexperienced young, British lad, or a poor Polish rider, easy.... Get rid of the Brit Kid, keep the Pole, and bring in an old Aussie... Don't worry about the future of British Speedway..... That's what the Elite League is for......!
  7. So, for elite league matches its an Elite League standard track, yes? Then, when holding an FIM meeting, the track dimensions will be altered, (like old Wembley) areas of rugby pitch removed and replaced with bits of temporary track to meet FIM track dimensions, Yes? So no home advantage for Team GB!
  8. Yes, that was in the early 1990's ...... I heard that it was currently a capped points pay limit of around £150 per point for riders 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.... this season, so a rider getting a 12 point max and ht 15 win would earn a basic nights pay of £2,250 If a rider of a decent calibre, riding home and away in a week in the EL scoring say 12 pts at hone and then say 10 away would gross points pay for the week of £3,300, add to that 5 rides in Poland, 4 rides in Sweden (another (£3,300 say) and he's grossed £6,600 for the week, not bad.. But, and its a big but, add travel costs, mechanics wages, engine services, broken parts, consumables etc and a bigish chunk is quickly eroded off that £6,600 then taxes, insurances, and well, what do you all reckon fellow fans.........???
  9. Ok fellow methanol fans, how and when will this happen? At the moment there's a group of reserves that are good enough to hold down elite league second string births....... When can this actually happen and what will the procedure be to leave the scheme? For example, if say Dakota North got injured and was going to be out long term or rest of season, what would happen if Swindon wanted to replace him with say Jason Garrity or Lewis Kerr or even promote Steve Worrall? The names/clubs are just for examples sake....
  10. This is true, unfortunately, in origin of the species speak, Speedways DNA is a closer match to Boxing and Snooker than Football and/or Rugby...
  11. From where I watch, I wouldn't be aware of that, also, I don't go on fb now, haven't been on it for months... For that very reason (bullish!t and backstabbing)
  12. When was Perry (Hounded) out? As far as I know he was released to enable Leicester to sign Josh Bates who is a lot younger than Perry.. Perry in my opinion is one of the older fast track reserves and in my opinion was probably not going to improve much more as a rider as he is now, and will quite possibly never make it as an Elite League rider... In my opinion..
  13. I don't understand why though, the clips on the interweb seem to indicate passing was easily possible pre alterations, it looks like it rode bigger in those days as well, today riders seem to be almost permanently on full lock most of the way around, hardly ever having their wheels inline..... Did the track shape changes happen when laydowns appeared? Cannot seem to find any definitive timescales to yes or no that question..
  14. Speedway at all levels needs to be competitive, but where do you draw the line in constantly trying to balance teams out strength wise? For God's sake, even the National League use guests from other teams!! All three leagues need their heads banging together!
  15. £1,200 for an EL 1 to 5 for winning a race? You're joking, surely?? Perhaps just maybe in Polish 1st division, but here???
  16. Name another sport that allows a team to replace team member/s with someone else from another team in the same league, or any other team in the same sport?? Coventry New this would occur with Andersen, and again when they signed MJJ, so who's fault is it really? You sign foreign riders, you take the risk that they will miss matches, so don't sign em! If you do, these are the consequences..!!!!
  17. Speedway finances have ALWAYS been shrouded in some sort of secrecy in this Country...... WHEN was the last time league clubs announced official attendances along with team results??????
  18. Surely, the first priority is to stop the existing supporters leaving the sport in droves first? As you cannot easily fill a bath with the plug out? Let's get the plug securely in place first....??
  19. The reason I ask, when watching Eastbourne v Poole on tellybox on Monday (I am Leicester) so would not have gone had it not been on tv... I noticed he had a Jawa fork and bike covers, but never got a close enough look at the engine to satisfy my query.... In the under 21 qualifier at Leicester a few weeks ago, the only Jawa mounted rider in the field was Lasse Bjerre, it's just not a popular choice these days it seems....
  20. I agree, the fixture as a spectacle has been devalued through no fault of his own... What I am saying is that if meetings could be called off, then in this case, only KL should be allowed to...
  21. If Coventry made the personnel changes and already knew that would leave them vulnerable in fixtures already written into the fixture list, then it's Coventrys own fault. I can see why this also effects the team they are riding at crowd wise as well, but only KL should be able to cancel or not, but it's meetings like this that then set a president of what happens in the future..... Allow this to not go ahead because of an understrength team, self inflicted as well would further de-professionalise the league....
