  1. Me too, forgot to renew subscription in 2009, never got a lapsed reminder and haven't had it since..... And the irony is, I now have a Speedway, I didn't most of the years I subscribed!!!!!
  2. Yes, just covering tracks with tarpaulins is not the answer.... As you say, it keeps moisture in and sucks it up to the surface.. A roller blind type of cover would work, stored on rolls just above and behind the fence that were then pulled over the fence and downwards and fixed to the ground, say a couple of feet into the centre green would work, but it would require new drainage solutions as well to take the water run off away from the track surface.... and the covers like this would not be cheap... I have often wondered if a spray-on solution might be an alternative way forward.. Some sort of waterproofing compound that could be sprayed over the racing surface that allows the majority of the rain to run to the kerb and then down the drains.. I have no idea if a substance that can do this exists? But it's an idea?
  3. Eyesore? Blimey! Take a drive down Woodgate!! its like entering a war zone! Smashed up buildings with graffiti, small fires regularly burning, half knocked down buildings part boarded up, burnt out cars, missing roofs, and all sorts of rubbish dumped... Oh, and rough sleepers and junkies aplenty, that's an eyesore...!!
  4. Well, when is this meeting being run, and is it on Sky? Talk about going off topic!!
  5. Where's this up for sale mullarkey come from!!
  6. Or covers on rollers, that are at fence height just the other side of the air fence, you then pull um over and down over the kerb and they stop (like roller blinds) and pin the inner end to the grass, the edges would have large velco areas to seal the pararallel joins over the track..
  7. Pour poof reeding fromm hte Mercery yett agaan!
  8. On Monday night at the double header, when Poole had secured top spot, JG said to Tatum and viewers that Poole, now the LEAGUE LEADERS would get the first pick of oppositon in the play offs....... That didn't sound silly, or daft or even out of place.... The play offs attract the largest league crowds of the domestic season, keep the majority of teams "interested" right up until the last day 6/7 meetings as still in with an outside chance of getting there if they had a bad start to the season........ What really can be wrong with that?
  9. Was the GP qualifier in motors tv last night? :-( Is the EL riders champs on tv anywhere/anytime?
  10. It's bang out of order, us avoiding wooden spoon, was as important to us as other teams play offs!! You're either fit or injured, especially in a 3 day period!!!!
  11. And if my grandma had wheels, she'd be a wagon!!! All guff until 2015 season is decided on, ie team strengths, FTDR, Etc... If you have 2 jobs, you call in sick for one Monday, go work for other Tuesday and then call in sick for first job on Wednesday, you're going to get into trouble.......
  12. Perhaps if more UK clubs reacted like this, we wouldn't be treated like practise tracks by all these foreign mercenaric riders....
  13. You are spot on GB! The system absolutely needs retaining, but fine tuning.... including a route into the main body of the team if their ability improves to the level required, perhaps to replace an injured second string? We need to be encouraging the young Brits as much as we can and be getting shot of the over hyped, overpaid, under performing, poor quality foreigners that ride over here.... and yes, the PL need to be on-board for this system to function the way it is intended to....
  14. Are injuries allowed in Sweden? Are guests allowed in Sweden? Is R/R allowed in Sweden? Just asking?
  15. Rough night for the Lions, meeting dragged on mainly due to multiple falls, and the associated 're-runs, plus once we lost Bates, and Max severely hampered by what looked like quite a painful dead leg or something had 3 rides in 4 races!!! The track was ok tonight, some very hard fought first bends which resulted in riders dominoing caused a lot of lost time, and as the night cooled, it got a tad greasy on top due to the track surface leeching moisture out the atmosphere.
  16. The racing improved as the riders rear wheels removed the slop off the racing lines.... Why didn't they get a couple of riders from each team to start on opposite straights and do 5/6 laps not trying to catch each other up, just to clear the racing lines of the slop, 5/6 laps, change the riders, 5/6 more laps, then change riders again..... And within 20 mins or so you have a dryish racing line.. even then you could grade over some drier shale that had been covered.... Resume racing at 9/9.30pm and you'd have got a fair result.. Yes????
  17. The, weather for Sunday is totally dry, with temperatures around 19c for Brandon and 17c for return at Leicester.... Perfect for Speedway!!!
  18. That about sums it up, [have 3 GB riders per team] That is not progress!! PL is a self serving league, (no to fast track) If 7 rider teams, you need more than 50% UK born (difficult to enforce any limits with Euro law) but hey ho, would foreign riders really bother to complain? So, 3 UK born team proper riders 2 Non UK European or 1 Euro and 1 Non Euro rider 2 UK born fast track scheme riders at reserve
  19. No, I speak fact only, check the met office warning, the rain area has been modified, nowhere near as north as it was forecast for.. I am simply
