  1. What and how is this "Nitro" obtained, put, and benefit???
  2. It was invented by accident. In the late 19th Century a German scientist, Justus Liebig, discovered brewer's yeast could be concentrated, bottled and eaten. In 1902 the Marmite Food Company was founded in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, where the raw material was readily available from the town's brewers.
  3. Shadows on racing line entering turn 3, only when under floodlights the kickboards blend in with track so distance from fence is hard to gauge at that point .........
  4. Has the lack of castor oil leaking on to the track also had a detrimental effect on how track surfaces bind together now as well??
  5. Going back to this spray on protection..... I meant it to be sprayed on after the track is race ready, a bit like spraying PVA glue on a Cricket wicket, (the glued pitch) perhaps a substance could be applied to the track top that repels water to a certain extent, type of thing.......
  6. I am a cricket fan as well, I really like pure test cricket, for what it is.... But I also like T20 flavour as well! it's a great fun couple or three hours entertainment, and you can catch it after a day at work.. perhaps domestic Speedway could learn a thing or two from T20 cricket and the way its packaged and presented...
  7. You really are a doom and gloom monger sometimes!! Of course they'll be a press and practise day, when all seven riders are here..... And, if any riders visa is going to be in order, it's Doyleys! If nothing else, David Hemsley is thorough and likes his t's crossed and I's dotted......
  8. Also, don't forget, we have few assets yet, Poole av em all!! They wouldn't allow clubs to talk to them yet, except if fat Maud definitely wasn't gonna use em!!
  9. Who's to say the job wouldn't have been picked up by someone else...??
  10. Does anyone out there think that a racing surface could be protected from rain with a spray-on solution...? If you have the banking, half decent drainage, a well packed surface, why couldn't there be some sort of spray applied protector? It doesn't have to keep ALL the water out, just the bulk of it.......
  11. All tracks have rakers, just don't rake much anymore. Their roles now are red flag holders... In the pre-eighties, red flags were ONLY used in daytime meetings, when it was said that riders could not see the red stop lights around the perimeter of the track, now red flags are used in all Speedway meetings, also in them days, we had to retrieve crashed bikes during racing! Could be quite scary, we also had to enter the track to pick up anything else that fell off, Inc helmet colours, chains and guards, the only thing we were not responsible for were the riders!!
  12. We have fantastic drains, actually to good to an extent....... Clay easily washed out of racing surface.. We have fantastic drains, actually to good to an extent....... Clay easily washed out of racing surface.. We have fantastic drains, actually to good to an extent....... Clay easily washed out of racing surface.. Bloody hell!!!!!!!!!
  13. We have fantastic drains, actually to good to an extent....... Clay easily washed out of racing surface..
  14. Glyn Taylor built a track dryer, big fans and propane heat, could only really dry out small parts of the track at once, would need a bank of 25 or so to have proper go at it... What about some sort of waterproofing spray? For the track surface, pack it hard and seal it.....
  15. Perhaps its time to explore/experiment with new surfaces, or at least the top dressing, perhaps there's another or 2 natural/man made material that could be used to good effect?
  16. After nearly every meeting, every post match social media thread, every track fans and wannabe track curator moans about the state of the track... To little dirt, to much dirt out towards the fence, rock hard, bereft of dirt blue grooved areas on the inner racing lines, no grip, to much grip, to much tractor grading, no raking on bends, etc, etc, etc... Are there any Elite League riders out there, that view these pages/threads that would or prepared to tell us fans what they really want track wise? Marshals if anything only remove the shale that has built up during racing off the base of the fence on the bends, and flick it out only to a maximum distance of around 3 feet from the fence... So, what do riders want regards in-meeting track work/grading and why???
  17. In the (good old days!!) At Leicesters old Blackbird Road Circuit, the tractor that dragged the (in meeting) grader, used to lift it off the racing surface from around 10 yards behind the tapes and not drop it back down until it had gone at least 10 yards past the tapes. So any start gate grading was done by the start gate staff, and sometimes an over zealous 4th bend raker!!
  18. Les and Neil Collins at Leicester (Blackbird Rd) Les powering round the pack on the tote bend, and Neil, undercutting on the City bend, his front wheel on the kerb, just underneath the rider in front of hims rear wheel, silk scarf blowing in the Castrol R air....
  19. Nobody has mentioned the great Tony Rickardsson in any (best of) categories.......?
  20. Just as a matter of interest, how many of the top (European leagues) riders still use a Jawa motor? The last one I saw was in use by Lasse Bjerre, UK El and PL rider.....
  21. Well at the moment, Machine Examiners have to inspect race suits and helmets to make sure they comply, perhaps we'll have to do the new stuff, but sounds like stuff won't be labelled as compliant, so what checks and how to check could be a very grey area..... Now, it's pretty black and white.......
  22. You have to use your right hand a lot, the throttle does twist both directions you know...
  23. So it's having problems as well, perhaps the Polish Speedway Bubble has burst, if not at least severely stretched..........
