  1. Well, an early start on this one.... Will the Lions face a Kings Lynn backlash after their lacklustre performance at Belle Vue last night..
  2. Thanks for the info, hope it becomes a success on the shale as well, GM needs a competitor if only to keep the prices in check, hardly anyone on Jawas now in Elite League, Kim Nillson of Lakeside rides a Jawa, don't know if either of the Bjerres are Jawa riders still......? Are there any pictures anywhere of this new Godden? Had a search on Google, didn't seem to find much about it at all, let alone a photo!!
  3. That rule never made it to the final version!!!! Stipulation is rider can dismount, as long as machine pointing the right way, he never lets go of the machine and his cut out is fitted. He can then garden to his hearts consent... The rule was modified because it is hard for short riders to do any meaningful gate prep without getting off machine!!!!!!
  4. That's the problem when rain is in the forecast.... Track prepped with little if any water, and no dirt to speak of.... A little bit of rain and you get a wet, rock hard base, with a little wet shale on top, turns into a skating rink.. the little bit of rain sits on top of the bone hard base because it's had no water on it to speak of, so the rain cannot get into the surface, it just gets so slippery, should have been watered properly during day.. it would if handled the rain shower much better..
  5. It is forecast, but in the form of showers, I've ran a couple of the lesser models, Manchester could be ok.... At least between 7pm and 9pm...
  6. Read in February that Godden were going to make a new speedway engine?? Anyone know anything about this project? Is one out there being tested/used perhaps in lower leagues....? Or?
  7. Apart from the Rugby Team, Leicester clubs in any and all sports have always been well down the pecking order on tv time....... Always treated poorly, even the cricket team, when we were top notch back in the day!
  8. Yes Tina, it was...... even during the downpour, the track was kept traceable, the tractor put in a lot of laps, and trackstaff stayed out on troublesome areas, kept the shale moving, the surface scarified to stop it turning into an ice rink, the riders didn't even have to have a look when the rain stopped, they could see with the work being done... And it can be done with right attitude.......
  9. If you continue to roll and roll a damp track, any moisture deep down in the track underbelly is drawn to the surface, making the task of trying to roll out ruts even harder, eventually the track would start to dry, but in the micro climate of an indoor arena like that, maybe not......
  10. As far as I know, these seated areas covered over are covered to stop people trying to sit there, it's an area deemed to risky for spectators, and so they just cover the area over with shading mesh or similar...
  11. I think a lot of the accidents we are seeing nowadays are higher speed incidents, the bikes are ridden in straight lines a lot more than in years gone by, less time is spent on full lock in corners now it seems so riders are hitting things or being hit at much higher impact speeds..
  12. Perhaps the "Windows" required to put tracks in these stadia is the real issue.....? I think the track needs laying and then at least a full week of time needed to bed it in, test it, re bed where required, test again before the meeting is due.... The timeframes are currently not long enough....
  13. And now Steady, how many more.....? How many are now out due to injury, injuries that won't heal overnight. Broken bones etc.. it's got to be double figures now in the top 2 leagues..
  14. It wasn't a fishing trip, just wanted other people's opinions on the subject.. I personally don't agree with doubling down, if that is its correct phrase... Doubling up, an up and coming youngster, to good for fast track, dipping his toe into the Elite League I think is good for British Speedway. But not so good the other way round, and the new rule capping it to two seasons is the right way to go especially the double-downers.
  15. Scary stuff, has the yolk gone with the forks and bars, or stayed with the diamond? A well unusual off..... Bad welding possibly??
  16. Yup! A totally ridiculous statement, Blimey, some people's imagination, next you'll be saying Sayfudinov is being lined up as a replacement for Bjarne!!
  17. Should he have set his heights a tad higher and got more rides in Europe, rather than doubling down?
  18. I was wondering myself, if in fact these new silencers are giving the engines a better airflow... So the spent gasses aren't getting backed up in the silencers, and killing the engine in the deeper dirt up the banking......? So when a rider goes up there, instead of the dirt killing the motor, the motor is providing usable revs instead of stopping the motor in its prime........ Scotty Nicholls was using the banking on turn one and two with good effect, with the old silencers, he'd have been left out to dry there!!
  19. You know exactly what I meant, it was a sarcastic question, no ifs or buts, it was sarcastic..
  20. I don't know, but a bit cruel to say that before having ALL the facts...
