Ok, here goes.. We have a flabby (thermal low) trailing from beyond Cornwall and diagonally up and out through the south of the Wash.. This is different to the usual cyclogenic type of low pressure.. It has lots of moisture wrapped up in it, but they are hard to plot.. Leicester will be very wet overnight Sunday into Monday, and most of Monday morning, but now indications pop for it drying up around lunchtime. Sunshine will be limited and it won't be Summer temps, but it looks likely now to be dry from Noon'ish maybe 1pm onwards. We have great drains, and great staff, in my opinion, we'll be ok..

Hi, thanks!! The weather this extended weekend is an absolute horror show to forecast.. Very very complex weather patterns, lots of systems all banging on the UK, trying to get in... Could be very warm, very wet, reasonably dry, thundery.... Will attempt a forecast tonight, (Saturday) after the GP and Saturdays model runs.....

Risk...acceptable Or Unacceptable?
Shale Searcher replied to customhouseregular's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It wasn't even perimeter "flagged" or even a pile of hay bales would have prevented that from being a fatality? Why oh why was staircase not cordened off!! Ridiculous accident, 1 million percent preventable!! It might as well have been a cliff edge, or a minefield......!! -
Risk...acceptable Or Unacceptable?

Well, you can if they are professional drivers, you know, lorry drivers... They are limited to maximum hours over a 2 week period, don't know exactly what the regs are at the moment.... And they get severely punished if they break those limits..... I will find out and add to post... -

Too Many Clubs?
Shale Searcher replied to Christopher Bcmma Cook's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Nothing will change until the Elite League and Premier League sit down and work together as one sport... Not like the WBA, WBC or Rugby Union and Rugby League.. Yes, promotors are going to want the best for themselves/their club, but the two main Leagues in the UK need to be symbiotic... Elite is division 1 Premier is division 2 The national league would be a 3rd division with strict controls on team ages, proper training, and links with the Premier league, which would also be a stepping stone to the 1st division, not a den where 2nd rate foreigners and unambitious elite league riders race as a second job which can take up team places where the best of the National league riders should be aspiring to move up to..... Uniting the league's into a single entity, 1st div (best) 2nd div (2nd best) and 3rd div (for new starters) with clear upward progression routes for British speedway riders first is paramount.. The single entity would be The British Speedway Leagues. -

Yep, where? By letter? Landline phones? Pub? After meeting in the track bar? I think most people didn't argue except on race nights, fans were very much home team living.. Cov fan to cov fan, Poole fan to Poole fan, you never had fans from different teams chatting/arguing except on race nights, most fans lived in the team's area...

There's taking a step back to go forward 2 steps, but this is not one of them.........!!! -
Right, weather time.... Saturday is awkward, but from what I can extrapolate from the models is as follows.. A plume of very warm and wet air is pumped north into Britain on Saturday, when this reacts with a forming low pressure over the west of the country, this area will become very, very unstable and begin breaking down, at the moment, it looks like the west, west Midlands will develop strong thunderstorms, which will move north and east up the country during Saturday evening and night.... The east Midlands should miss most of this untill late in the night, and early into Sunday morning. It will be very warm Saturday, peaking at around 27/28c by 4pm the evening will remain dry over Leicester until the storms break late evening..

King's Lynn V Coventry Wed 19th August
Shale Searcher replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely someone would have mentioned the ht 12 debacle to the ref on the phone when complaining about the double exclusion? "Come on ref, if you've excluded Sargeant (breaking the imaginary tapes at 15m) then that would have meant you had stopped the race at that point? So Garrity, or any other rider could not be then excluded as you'd stopped the race? Or, were you using the same discretion as when a rider anticipates the tapes, but does not gain an advantage, so letting the race continue? And you would of excluded Sargeant at the conclusion of that race. But because of the Garrity incident, you excluded Garrity, and then announced Sargeants exclusion, which would of been announced at that races conclusion.........?? Is this possibly the case? -

If Sergeant moved (which he didn't) the start was unsatisfactory, and Garrity could not possibly be excluded.. if Sergeant didn't move, then the Garrity exclusion was correct, but Sergeant should then have been in the rerun...!!!! End of!
