Team riding, you remember, 2 riders from the same team, riding together in close proximity, bossing the lines, race speed to gain that all important 5-1 or in some cases a 3-3 by keeping the opposition behind them.... Don't see a lot of it these days, what are the main reasons? Is it mostly lost forever?

Well done Bomber, if only you could produce this form more often in the GP series.... -
Rolling, Moving And Jumping At The Start

Why not have a bar on the track behind the wheels, all riders have to have their rear wheels in contact with it until the tapes rise....? Can't roll back because of the bar, can't roll forward, they will touch the tapes..... Sorted for less than the price of a couple of tyres!! Unless an ex rider sticks his nickname on it!!! -

Per Olef Seranius, watched him live and in the flesh at the 1985 world ice racing final at Assen, Holland... A real frightening sight to see in full flight!!! -

You are bang on there, he did guest regularly towards end of season, a lot thought he would be Bees bound at the end of last season...... Quality rider with bright future if he can stay focussed and injury free.. -

Totally agree, getting ridiculous now, either go/don't go... If you want to criticise, then fair enough, but be critical.. but where you are critical, what other could be done to alleviate the problem you're critical of.. With the conditions tonight as they were, thought it was a decent meeting.. obviously we would prefer the Sun shining, 23C, riders according to programme, free beer and a close meeting, a bit of passing, bit of controversy, with a home win...!! But it's not like that, 99.5% of the time, it can't be. -

This type of set up guarantees this type of shower... but hard to predict when/where, and they can do lots of track damage in short time Windows.. -

Trouble is, they are popcorn showers, impossible to predict where and when they will strike as they are not from organised belts of the wet stuff, here one minute, blown out the next... -

Bone dry in Leicester, only 25.6 miles away, ridiculous..... -
I was working on the track the night Leiff Waehlman was killed.. Sickening incident, an air fence would have probably saved his life... Look how many years it was before they were introduced.. Speedway as far as safety is concerned is behind the times, much like the sport in general according to A certain number of fans on here.... The question is, could it be the riders at fault for the state of speedway in general around the world? It's not actually growing in any country at the minute... How many riders of all ages, would prefer to spend £500 on flash guards, covers, than the same amount on better quality protective wear???

Great factoid!!! -
No I'm not an ex rider, Old Leicester, Peterborough, Kings Lynn, Millenium Stadium, New Leicester track staff and Machine examiner... It's my most treasured possession, other than my car... Which sadly needs some expensive tlc. It's been in a double sided frame for the last 11 years..... (The race jacket, not my car)!!!

They have had what we have had (Leic), just a tad earlier than us, so yes, must have rained until 12ish, then again around 1.30ish and then again around 4pm.... -

Is this the first time Doyle has used a neck brace? Also had different lids as well I think? Cannot remember seeing him in one before..... -
The minute you give it to a top rider, they'll have it in bits, throw half away, and modify what's left to squeeze another couple of horses out of it!! (Well, their tuner will) That's not what the project is about in my opinion.........?
