Peter Craven/grand Opening
Shale Searcher replied to Trevor's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
By all accounts, the moisture was already in the shale, there has been little chance for evaporation, despite no real precipitation over the last 7-10 days.. Doesn't matter how much packing/rolling/scarifying, re-rolling, the moisture has not gone anywhere.. Tracks are almost a living entity, track curation is complicated, there is such a narrow window in track prep, it's a knife edge between a good race track and no race track at all, especially from new, and even more so this time of year... I'm not making excuses for anyone, but it's such a narrow "goldilox" timeframe for success/failure prepping tracks.. -

Great pic Mr Hall!! -
If, Newman had of returned to the pits, or wait for another rider to take another pair of goggles to him at the start line, or tried to rectlfy the fault with the goggles at the aforementioned tapes, he would have been rightly excluded under the not ready to race rules (2 mins) It wasn't spotted by the ref, but if the ref had of had the bottle, he could have excluded him after the race finished for not wearing goggles. He didn't, so we move on..

It's going back to the days of having a ringer foreigner at reserve, except now they're British ringer reserves! No ambition, won't be or get any better than they are now, reached his /there level. -
Problem with that is, you become a student, get a card, then leave.. you don't have to hand the card in. An official letter from your university with supporting photo ID is probably less easy to forged.. NUS cards are no longer valid for lots of things...

There's a second line, behind the start/finish line, it's so positioned that when the front wheel spindles are lined up over it, the front most part of the tyre will be within the regulation 75mm of the tapes.. -

Yes, it's cooler today, my weather station is saying 8.2c I did say the warm temperatures would be governed by the amount of sunshine, and up north Scotland who have had blue sky and Sun most of the day, reached 18c today, yes 18c!! Still pretty dry until 24/25th March, and in any prolonged sunshine, we will get into double figures... 12c, 14c, maybe a 16c...

Weather Forecast 10th March to 20th March 2016 Well, a high pressure system is moving east and will set up camp over the UK for at least 10 days... It is a claggy high, hence it will bring with it quite a lot of cloud, but, it will be mostly a dry high, with little or no significant rain anywhere over the UK. Where the sun does burn through the associated cloud, temperatures will respond and rise into the low to middle teens. Where clear overnight, there will be some frost. So, to summarise the next 10 days or so, it will be dry, calm, daytime temps around 10c to 14/15c, mostly cloudly with occasional sunny spells, very good speedway weather.. There are signs of a return to something colder around 25th March..

The weather forecast 10 March to 20 March 2016 A high pressure system is spreading east to centre itself over the UK this weekend, and is set to hang around for at least the next 10 days or so. There will be no significant rain anywhere over the UK from Sun 12th March for around at least the next 10 days, it is a claggy high, so cloud could/will suppress the daytime temps, but where the sun does burn through, temps will quickly move into the low to mid teens. There will still be frosts where the cloud clears overnight. So in summary, Dry, occasional sunshine, daytime temps between 10c and 15c, and importantly, no rain.. -

The weather will be set fair from Sunday this week, large area of high pressure centres across the UK for at least the next 10 days or so according the the models.. only fly in the ointment is that it's still March and its a dirty high (lots of claggy cloud, sun may not be strong enough to burn it off) if and where the sun does break through, low to mid teens temperatures can be achieved.... There should be no signifacant precipitation of any kind over the next 10 days or so, still frost possible where clear sky's form overnight.. -
Weather Forecast... From Saturday 12th March. The weather for Manchester will be mainly dry, and I mean dry! High pressure in control for the foreseeable future. The nights may be cold, with the chance of frost, but no significant precipitation between 12th March and 19th March. Daytime temps will fluctuate between around 8c and 14c depending on how much sun you get, which is still a tad hit and miss, it's a dirty high.... But it should be dry between 12th and 19th March......

Perhaps you will get a speedway bike up against a plethora of engined racing machines with him hanging out at Rye House, we had Tai at Leicester against a top of the range range rover a couple of seasons ago...... Must be good for our sport.!!
