  1. Clubs seem "scared" to run with even the slightest threat form the weather gods these days.. I wonder if I would have fallen out with speedway in the 1970's with all this lack of effort to run meetings....? I may have discovered something else to do with my pocket money and paper round money and odd job money? Skating? Glice skating, Cinema, football? LCFC used to play some Tuesday nights... You see the floodlights from the top of the grandstand and top steps from the terracing!!
  2. Another early rain off, was it really necessary to call it today? The rain looks likely to be in and gone by 11:30/12:00 and then Manchester is rain free... Really makes our sport look so bloody unprepared, and unwilling, no wonder we've only got a handful of die hard supporters left, it's never on!!!
  3. And Belle Vue have bottled it for tomorrow as well now, this is just insanity! A band of rain will sweep through the spine of the UK tomorrow late morning, weakening as it goes.. it's an early afternoon meeting, once what little lying rain has drained off the surface, there's no further rain threat, no wonder speedway is bleeding fans like no other sport, it's never on!! Fans get out the habit of going, find something else to do and if they like it, they stay with it... These rain offs have got to stop.
  4. Yea, really gone off Woffy, getting far above his station as me mum used to say.... Gone from a likeable and talented chap, to well, not sure the words are suitable for a forum, so i'll use the term "jumped up, arrogant little so and so"!!
  5. These are the sort of situations when track covers would save the day, thought BV had them?
  6. Thought Poland had Sundays, Saturdays and Fridays this season? Or are they exempt from the one racenight rules?
  7. Yes, but when that was an issue, the draft riders were draft riders for the season, had the rule that allowed them to move into the top 5 had already been in place, I think he would have been ok with starting at 6... Great way to start a season, 4 matches to get ya bikes and head in the right place, then off into the top 5.. Perfick...!!
  8. You are spot on with this, should have reverted to the previous heat formula, once it was decided to allow promotion and relegation of rider positions based on how many points they score.... Absolutely straight away it should have changed back, no ifs or buts.... Completely and utterly self conflicting now..
  9. Will a VPN help to circumvent the problem...?
  10. sorry The rain is convective, the sun warms the land, heat rises, you get moisture rising, it gets cold and falls back as rain/whatever....
  11. So that's not true then;the buck tweet, it can't be if it was an Hour ago....
  12. 2 and a 1/2 hours before tapes up, naturally well watered, should be ok.........
  13. The band's of rain are now weakening as the sun is now on the way down.. diurnal heating receding...
  14. There were guests in the 1970's in fact lots of guests...
  15. Imagine the silencer is a bath, the water taps are the power, and the plughole is the baffles now in speedway silencer.. With the old silencer (bath with plug out) taps on full, no problem.. New silencer (bath with plug in) Taps on full, BIG problem!!!!
  16. Can you download Kodi onto a Windows 7 laptop, and connect the laptop to a standard definition tv with VGA cable? I currently connect my laptop to the same tv with a vga cable, but just farm for the streams that way, would having Kodi on my laptop improve my viewing capabilities? Thanks in advance.. PS, it's actually a HD TV, but due to some blown capacitors, HD will not work, have to use AV/RGB options..
  17. Re the Kings Lynn track. I used to rake and flag there in the mid eighties, and learned to slide with Ole Nygren there in the very early nineties, and I machine examined at last season's World Cup and the track material seems so drastically different to what it used to be...? It seemed to be a totally different colour, more like farmland soil, with added small stone chippings, also it seemed to contain small bits of straw and other unidentifiable debris.. It also seems to be flatter than I remember, much shallower banking. Can anyone confirm exactly what material is used on track there now? It just didn't feel or mould in the hand like Breedon shale or other brand of shale..?
  18. Wednesday's weather (Kings Lynn) Looking at the models and charts, I expect the day to be mainly dry, with the odd wintry shower, which could fall as rain, sleet or soft hail and there is the risk of thunder in any heavier showers. The evening will be similar, although the frequency of the showers may increase, I personally think they will be along the coastline, and Lynn should end up missing most of the evenings showers. Temps will be around 10c but will drop significantly during any heavy showers, but will recover in any sunny breaks.. Temps in the evening will be around 6c to 8c With busters availability of plant and nouse, you should be ok...😃 in my opinion ....
  19. Probably for the first time ever, I agree with Robert72 Tai is not a role model, Jason Crump, Leigh Adams, Hans Nielsen, Peter Collins are.. I wouldn't want my son (I don't have any kids by the way) coming home with inkings permanently added to his face, or golf holes in his ears!!!
  20. It's just like the Carl Wilkinson scenario from last season....!!
