  1. Will a VPN help to circumvent the problem...?
  2. sorry The rain is convective, the sun warms the land, heat rises, you get moisture rising, it gets cold and falls back as rain/whatever....
  3. So that's not true then;the buck tweet, it can't be if it was an Hour ago....
  4. 2 and a 1/2 hours before tapes up, naturally well watered, should be ok.........
  5. The band's of rain are now weakening as the sun is now on the way down.. diurnal heating receding...
  6. There were guests in the 1970's in fact lots of guests...
  7. Imagine the silencer is a bath, the water taps are the power, and the plughole is the baffles now in speedway silencer.. With the old silencer (bath with plug out) taps on full, no problem.. New silencer (bath with plug in) Taps on full, BIG problem!!!!
  8. Can you download Kodi onto a Windows 7 laptop, and connect the laptop to a standard definition tv with VGA cable? I currently connect my laptop to the same tv with a vga cable, but just farm for the streams that way, would having Kodi on my laptop improve my viewing capabilities? Thanks in advance.. PS, it's actually a HD TV, but due to some blown capacitors, HD will not work, have to use AV/RGB options..
  9. Re the Kings Lynn track. I used to rake and flag there in the mid eighties, and learned to slide with Ole Nygren there in the very early nineties, and I machine examined at last season's World Cup and the track material seems so drastically different to what it used to be...? It seemed to be a totally different colour, more like farmland soil, with added small stone chippings, also it seemed to contain small bits of straw and other unidentifiable debris.. It also seems to be flatter than I remember, much shallower banking. Can anyone confirm exactly what material is used on track there now? It just didn't feel or mould in the hand like Breedon shale or other brand of shale..?
  10. Wednesday's weather (Kings Lynn) Looking at the models and charts, I expect the day to be mainly dry, with the odd wintry shower, which could fall as rain, sleet or soft hail and there is the risk of thunder in any heavier showers. The evening will be similar, although the frequency of the showers may increase, I personally think they will be along the coastline, and Lynn should end up missing most of the evenings showers. Temps will be around 10c but will drop significantly during any heavy showers, but will recover in any sunny breaks.. Temps in the evening will be around 6c to 8c With busters availability of plant and nouse, you should be ok...😃 in my opinion ....
  11. Probably for the first time ever, I agree with Robert72 Tai is not a role model, Jason Crump, Leigh Adams, Hans Nielsen, Peter Collins are.. I wouldn't want my son (I don't have any kids by the way) coming home with inkings permanently added to his face, or golf holes in his ears!!!
  12. It's just like the Carl Wilkinson scenario from last season....!!
  13. Speedway needs an outlet on bog standard prime time tv to generate some interest from people outside "our little world" We are sometimes speedways worst nightmare.... We slag it off on line (facegram, instabook, tumbledown, twatter, etc..) anyone that hasn't discovered speedway, would be put-off straight away by some of the ascerbic comments/reports we bung on these sites.... We need a "be positive about speedway" week online/ down pub etc, just talk about all that's good, and give the not so good a rest!!
  14. Also, Tai probably won't actually run many.... The "Michael Vaughan" cricket school, Michael Vaughan wasn't actually there beyond the opening day!!! Same with lots of sports training schools/camps/days.. it's just branding...
  15. I don't understand this mass hating of track grading??? When I first started going speedway in the early 1970's, tractor grading and hand raking took place after every race, nobody moaned then? If anything, if tracks today were graded "a little less, but more often" this would be far better for the track, the riders racing on it and the fans watching it!!! You would get a better spread of the dirt, a better track equality and more overtaking.. When you race on the track just before a trackgrade, it's totally different to just after a trackgrade..... 2 quick laps with the tractor + 4 rakers on each bend would make for much better track conditions....
  16. Rain was forecast to appear around 8pm/8.30pm, when it did arrive, just as the MDL fixture was completed, it fell as soft hail, which I had predicted... Not cold enough for sleet/snow, but cold enough for the lesser spotted Soft Hail!! Other than missing out on a win, I thought that was a very entertaining speedway match, 2 evenly matched teams, and riders that were prepared to try the new lines around 3 and 4, which produced some great overtakes, and probably quite a few pairs of soiled pants!!!
  17. Remember the days when speedway attracted sponsorship from Blue Chip Companies, not just the Leagues, but clubs from all levels.. The Gulf British League (Oil Company) The CPL British Final (Coal Products) Long Eaton were backed for ages by FINA (oil/petrol) More Please....
  18. After a look at the models and charts, I expect it to stay dry all day/evening, just a chance of a rogue light shower after dark, could be light rain, or possibly soft hail, not an issue.... Temps around 12c in any sunnier spells, otherwise around 10c Light winds.... So all systems go!!!😃😃 Can a number 8 guest for anyone else in the EL? If so, he could end up guesting against his own team!!! If not, he doesn't get a very good deal, does he....??
  19. I remember watching the "Midland Riders Handicap" meetings at Blacbird Road in the 70's.....
