  1. Also, don't forget their spokesperson (Tai) says that elite league tracks (not all of them) need improving!! Not 100% which ones, and what improvements, it may be some need widening, but we don't know which...
  2. If this move had been allowed to go through, it would have opened the floodgates for more of the same, it should not be allowed.. Double uppers/downers are bad for speedway, it is responsible for more guest riders, and if a double upper/downer gets injured, two teams are then missing a rider!!
  3. I will be updating this forecast tomorrow afternoon (Sunday 8th May) around 4pm.. At the moment, the only significant change is the likelyhood of thunderstorms has lessened as the charts seem to indicate that any storms initiated, will track North but from a more westerly point, therefore, missing the Leicester area completely!!
  4. If Craig Cook wanted more track time, to bolster his earnings, why on earth choose a track that has the same race night as his other club?? He can only ride in one place at a time, so that defeats the point of the whole exercise???
  5. Also, it would be a snide way of getting good guests when he's on Belle Vue duty!!!
  6. Double up / double down / double down, down. All are inherently bad for speedway in the UK. It removes loyalty, team togetherness, team/fan identity.. This is one of the many reasons speedway is in decline...
  7. Realistically, should Elite League Heat Leaders be allowed to ride in the lower league? Yes? No? Don't know? I personally think they shouldn't be allowed to ride in the lower league. No matter what nationality.
  8. Weather forecast for Monday - Leicester.. Difficult forecast, lots of convective activity from today through to at least Wednesday next week with a weak plume advecting warm, moist unstable air from the continent and up into the UK.. It looks like the south west will be the first area to go nuts, maybe as early as overnight tonight with elevated thunderstorms hopping over the channel and triggering home grown storms, these will gradually move north into Saturday (central England, west Midlands, possibly east Anglia) as we move into Sunday. Some heavy rain, will accompany thunderstorms, but, and its quite a large but, not everywhere will see them.. Monday should be mostly dry, warm and humid, maxing out around 22c/24c. Again isolated thunderstorms are likely to break out during late morning and again heavy rain where these storms do break out. These Monday storms will be fewer and further between than Sat/Sun and will clear the Midlands in the early afternoon, so there should be NO issues weatherwise, once we get past 1pm/2pm Monday. Monday evening should be dry, warm but a little less humid, temps around 18c to 20c. I will update this forecast on Sunday afternoon.. C'mon the Lions, we can beat these pesky Pirates!!!!
  9. Exactly IronScorpion.... When Leicester were PL, we turned up at Scunny on a Friday night, it lobbed it down and the turns were 6 inches deep in water!! No chance given, but they sucked the water off the bends, graded and we started.!! This would only have happened at maybe 1 or 2 other UK tracks, Leicester Kings Lynn, mostly EL riders don't want the colours to run in there kevlars!!!!!
  10. By staying away, you're making it easier for the place to close, without looking for a new site, showing it has lack of support is not the way to go.... It's better to protest when you are there (Brandon) in numbers, passion in numbers (big numbers) is the way forward.... For instance, how about every home supporter in the stadium turns their backs on a race or two... Stuff like that, petitions, banners etc. By just not going, you make it so much easier for the place to be closed, or promoters to not invest in replacement riders, extra shale, not paint the kerb, shoddy track prep, you are playing right into the developers hands etc......
  11. Sorry starman, not a pop at you either!! Got quote wrong, huge fingers/all thumb!!
  12. This thread has wandered off topic already!! It's meant to be about Craig Cook doubling down now with Peterboro'! Not a list of riders who don't want UK Elite League!!!
  13. There's no excuse for having "sink holes" or "moto-x" jumps anywhere on an Elite League track....
  14. This topic was not, I repeat not me having a pop at Craig Cook, just a topic that deserves a good debate...
  15. I understand that he has lost £££££'s with no home fixtures at Belle Vue, and needs to recoup lost earnings, but, is it right? But is dropping down into the 2nd tier of UK speedway to make up lost earnings the right way to go? And is it legal? I thought there was a rule introduced that was supposed to block this sort of move? Would it not have been the pertinent to try and get rides in Sweden or Denmark? Dropping down to the PL is not going to benefit his skill set, he's to strong for the PL, it's like teenager who has left school and gone to college, but still visits his old school to pillage the kids dinner money!! Thought there was a 2 year maximum stay in the PL when you are also riding Elite League.....? Your feelings on this subject good people of the British Speedway Forum....
  16. Could Eddie Kennett be loaned out to another EL team whilst he isn't getting any rides at Lakeside??
  17. If the stock cars had not been on that afternoon, they could have possibly have delayed the start for an hour?
  18. Its all relative though, isn't it..? How many do the Brummies get to watch them in the National League nowadays? 300 / 400 / 500 / 700?
  19. KB has had more than his fair share of bad accidents over the years, his confidence must be at an all time low, perhaps he always thinks he will crash? If he has a change of track, and has a run of decent, crashless meetings, he could maybe turn it around...? When he's good, he's very good... He was a regular in the GP'S for a good few years, wasn't he...? I would be ok with him at Leicester, perhaps in place of Seb Ulamek...
  20. So Danny, Some tracks need widening.. Probably impossible for a lot of EL tracks.... Some tracks are to bumpy. I will add wavy to that as well, probably the easier than the widening issue to fix, will still need the hiring in of some pretty expensive plant, but doable. Which tracks do you think he means need widening?
  21. Change of race night, an amicable decision due to qualifiers and LCFC Premier League Champions at Home!!!! Weather, well coats away, sun tan lotion on instead!!!! Expected temps in the evening, a pleasant 22c to 23c should be a belter!!! Will add another weather forecast Saturday....
  22. He needs asking then, because if the BSPA go for one night next year on the basis that Tai (and maybe another 2 or 3 GP boys) would come back, he (Tai) could turn round and say "struth Cobber, you havent done the track improvements!!) So I ain't coming back Sheila!!
  23. No referendum yet, unless I have missed it, we are still in Europe!!!!
