  1. 14.30, not rained now for over a day!! And no rain in sight, at all, anywhere near Leicester.... Whoopee!!
  2. 24 hours with no rain, and no rain expected.....
  3. First and foremost, I would ban doubling up/down in any Professional UK leagues. Hard to do over a single season, but do-able over 2 seasons I think.. So: Season 2018 Only 1 double upper or downer allowed in a teams 1 to 5 Only 1 double upper/downer in the reserve births. However, any team that has NO double uppers/downers in their 1 to 7 will be allowed.. Season 2019 No double uppers/downers allowed in any teams 1 to 5 1 double upper allowed in either reserve birth.. Season 2020 No Double Uppers/Downers allowed in Professional UK Speedway League/s So, that's double uppers/downers sorted No, what to do with UK leagues and Foreign Leagues... Answers later today.....
  4. More double uppers/downers = more bloody fixture clashes, guests, and unhappy supporters who fork out good money to see [THEIR] team, not 4 or 5 and 2 / 3 guests!! Just making more trouble for the sport...
  5. That's what I have just said, bloody awful, and that's an understatement.. Some of the ruts i'd need ladders to get in and out of!!
  6. Doubling up/down has to go.. I have followed Speedway since 1970ish, you supported your team, your riders, your juniors.. You adopted them, even the lesser ability riders, they were your family, you'd bleed your teams colours, if your rider got hurt, you hurt, when they were winning, you were winning, when they cried, you cried, and after the meeting, you could share a few moments with your hero's, share a joke, share an insult.. If you saw one of your riders on the road, the hairs stood up on your shoulder, if you were going to the Speedway, you followed your hero's in their cortina with bike trailer, or them in their Citreon Safari, 2 bikes even 3 origarmi'd into the back!! Riders rode in the sun, cloud, rain, they got dirty, wet, but were gladitorial on track.. Now, its not the same, your team races on a night other countries don't, else your best guys won't be there, the meat of your team changes week in week out, picked from who's available, not your riders.. Rain in the air? Forget it, riders don't do wet meetings now, Your riders, are not your team, just a hashed 6 or 7 that are available on that particular day, meanwhile your riders are off riding for someone else, somewhere else! The only time they race now is out the pits, into their fully loaded Scooby van, and off to their next pay check, no loyalty, no affinity, just like playground footie, perm your team, any seven from who's not riding yet tonight. In the bar after? no thanks... Why have team suits, riders have several, no loyalty. To be A professional, bona fide team sport, then it needs to be "one rider, one team" until this happens, we will be the Micky Mouse of sport, not to be taken seriously, by fan or by finance..
  7. I think the "doing it on the cheap" has credence here.... Speedway relies so heavily on volunteers, perhaps getting people to take monies off customers at the entrances/turnstiles these days is difficult.. Don't think any turnstile staff have been done over, but the threat is there.. It's hard work getting track staff these days to attend, which is possibly the best place to be as a fan.. Turnstile staff must be the worse possible volunteer post available..
  8. I disagree, Natalie much prettier, in a quirky sort of way.... I'll get my coat..
  9. I don't think so, the track since had been awful.. GT treated like a disposable commodity, which is wrong.. Not only can he prepare a race circuit, but he gets the best out of antiquated equipment!! If he hasn't got it, he makes it!! The bowser broke down last night, an hour before the start, if GT had been there it would have been repaired straight away, even if it only did the meeting, he would have got it working.... I have never seen so much track lamination, ruts, bumps, and out by the fence was a minefield.... It's a shame, but I don't think Glyn will be back, I hope he gets another gig sorted asap, he knew every nook and cranny of the Leicester circuit, he will be sorely missed.. Treated very poorly by the club...
  10. At old Leicester, I used to stand 30 yards behind the start-line, once riders passed this point, I held a flagged rope across the track to stop riders riding back by that point, combined with the not entering the centre-green, would this not stop the constant riding back round the track at race start......?
  11. That's not what I meant, but it's interesting if the BSPA had nigh on £360k to blow on GTR'S... Could have got a decent national tv ad for that money and benefit ALL UK Speedway, if those figures are to be believed??
  12. Re club bail outs/monies owed to riders/suppliers.. Ok, if no assistance is to be given, then the BSPA shouldn't take circa £50k bonds from clubs.. Problem sorted, well, moved along....
  13. Talking about star riders missing UK meetings, because of the Polish having first dibs on rider services, if you also take into account what Chris Holder has said about the huge difference in pay rates between UK PL and Polish top division being huge, how can you trust a rider to ride with 100% commitment for your UK team, for a fraction of what he can earn in Poland, knowing an off, could make him miss Polish meetings? How can you trust them to give it 100%? Perhaps that's why MF got rid? Knowing CH might only be riding for Poole at 75%/80% by not taking chances he would for his Polish team? Even subconsciously, CH might not give 100%.. You'd like to think this wouldn't happen, but this is real World stuff.... What do you Kings Lynn fans think?
  14. I have heard that Poland were going to insist both Lebedevs and Wolbert would have to miss UK matches, more than when the signings were declared..... In anyway, you can't do right from wrong can you? Fans kicking off because to many foreigners signed, and British riders available....
  15. Not guilty i'm afraid...... We were hampered after lunch by heavy rain, sleet mix.
  16. It's easier to get bright colours, easy to print sponsors on, no sew on sponsors, that's the reason, and its wrong, Leather should be compulsory...
