Yea, Rembas ended up at Leicester as well as I recall! I think he was hot/cold/cold/cold/hot type rider, I seem to rember him winning some races.. We had quite a few Poles in the mid to late 70's, the best of the rest being Andrez Husczka.. He held the track record at Blackbird Rd for around 2 races, before Les Collins reclaimed it!! Incredible meeting, think track record was broken 3 maybe 4 times that night... It was a Tuesday night after a day of thunderstorms, and after a Saturday Stock Car Meeting!!!! Can't remember the opposition though....

It has now done it's job, good/bad is still publicity, wonder how many people on this thread will try a can of Monster.....? If the track has been cleared of rain regularly this week, and you stead clear of the "BIG" Showers tomorrow, they are forecast to be a little less widespread tomorrow, you could be ok. A lot will depend if you get a claggy morning, (low cloud, no Sun, low temps) = less angry showers due to less diurnal heating.. Or, Sunshine from the off (higher temps will induce diurnal heating) = Angry, heavy thunderstorms that will kill off the meeting....

Modern speedway has generally become sanitised, completely.. riders no longer race in the real wet, bikes are now super quiet, don't leak oil, have bouncy castle for fence, tracks have no proper shale......... It's now advertised "family friendly" bring the kids..... Controversial? Yes! But crowds averaging in the 100's, not the 1,000's True? Unfortunately, yes......

Don't know how to isolate a section of this post, but you mentioned that speedway has lost its "identity" I actually think you mean it has lost its "integrity" Enough said...

What's Woffy gonna do now?? Now Poland are using 3 race nights, Sweden use 2, So that's 5 out of 7 before you add in Denmark and UK... Perhaps UK, Sweden and Denmark would be better for a "less" busy schedule, if money is not the motivational factor??

Back to this national league is the same as the elite league, its not!!!! Do you think that if Arsenal, or Chelsea were relegated over the course of 3 seasons and ended up in league 2, they would still get 50,000 to 60,000 for every game? No, they wouldn't, it would drop to probably around 30,000 or so.. Speedway needs A Top League, with as many top riders as possible. Polands bubble will burst, it's over extended itself at the moment, it's like a Sun that's turned into a red giant, it will go pop!! We need to make sure we have a league that can take advantage of that, when it happens.. 2 seasons, maybe 3 seasons away from bursting, at the most...

I will put my rod away now, very rarely use it.. Not having Tai in the British Final is terrible, whoever wins it will feel deep down (I would think) that if Tai had been there, they wouldn't of won it.. It's happened before when riders have won meetings when one or more superstsar has been absent, it's been talked about on here in the past as well, can't remember which thread it was though..

Actually......... Races cut to 2 laps, (cost saver) Less wear on engines, clutches. Less fuel used, tyres last twice as long. League meetings return to 13 heats (cost saver) Team format changed (cost saver) Each team now made up as follows; Heat Leaders, no 1, 3 & 5 have to be (foreign riders) Second Strings no 2 & 4 (have to be Premier League riders) Reserves no 6 & 7 (Have to be NL riders) Team Suits Barred (cost saver) each rider purchase a blank race bib which is covered both sides with Velcro, (each rider will be provided with a starter set of Fuzzy Felt and simply create the team logo/crest/rider no for which ever team they ride for (bonus or given for best nightly effort) Riders allowed to guest for any team, in any League (but only at same position as last meeting for their allocated team) If a club in the top 3 positions of their league lose a rider/s for any reason, they are only allowed to use a rider from the MDL or lower ranked club/league. New rule for racing. If a rider loses any part of his fuzzy felt race bib during a race, he will be fined half his nights wages, if he commits the offence more than once in a race meeting, he will be thrown out and a novice from the crowd will use his equipment to take his place in any of his races remaining (crowd novice replacements, can not ride in heat 13) highest scorers race) Crowd novices can only be used at the same track they were first used at.
