  1. Who mentioned Tai?????? I was merely stating how some Countries require their riders to compete.... Hence I enquired 're Fast Freddie?? So not irrelevant....
  2. Well, with Poland now using Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, that leaves Sweden, Denmark, UK to fight over the remaining 4 days. I'm sure Sweden use 2 and Denmark use at least 1, not a lot left for UK is there....?
  3. People now won't travel if there's the slightest hint of rain a week either side of the meeting they were thinking of going to..!!!!
  4. Zagar had to ride in the Slovenian Championship, Patrick Hougaard had to ride in the Danish Championship, the Poles have to ride in ALL Polish meetings, did Fast Freddie have to compete in the Swedish Championship? Australia and USA is a little bit different geographically... Looooooong way from Europe..
  5. But Poland don't race one night a week anymore, they use Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays now!!
  6. It's what we've come to expect though, "it's only Leicester" attitude from BSPA/SCB/SKY. We're only here to make the numbers up.... That's what it feels like most of the time.....
  7. Just been to the blunsdon blog, and theres nowt there! Except a paragraph saying the blog is on summer holiday!!! How do you view it's history? There was no buttons/dropdown or any link go read past content????
  8. Every team that comes to Leicester needing a H/L guest bags Bomber!! Hope he has a good meeting, it's great seeing Bomber when he is on song.... And that's from a Lions supporter!!
  9. Yea, Rembas ended up at Leicester as well as I recall! I think he was hot/cold/cold/cold/hot type rider, I seem to rember him winning some races.. We had quite a few Poles in the mid to late 70's, the best of the rest being Andrez Husczka.. He held the track record at Blackbird Rd for around 2 races, before Les Collins reclaimed it!! Incredible meeting, think track record was broken 3 maybe 4 times that night... It was a Tuesday night after a day of thunderstorms, and after a Saturday Stock Car Meeting!!!! Can't remember the opposition though....
  10. It has now done it's job, good/bad is still publicity, wonder how many people on this thread will try a can of Monster.....? A couple might try and will like it and become Monster consumers, a couple might try it and not like it, but as they were not consumers anyway, Monster haven't lost anything, but may have gained a couple of consumers.. Jobs a good un!!!
  11. If the track has been cleared of rain regularly this week, and you stead clear of the "BIG" Showers tomorrow, they are forecast to be a little less widespread tomorrow, you could be ok. A lot will depend if you get a claggy morning, (low cloud, no Sun, low temps) = less angry showers due to less diurnal heating.. Or, Sunshine from the off (higher temps will induce diurnal heating) = Angry, heavy thunderstorms that will kill off the meeting....
  12. Ludwig Lingren makes his official debut for the Lions, Belle Vue going well, Cook, Fricke, and the Worralls seem to go ok round BP, Nicholls, not so good, should be a good meeting, weather, well, probably the driest day of the last 7 days!!! Lions 46 Aces 44
  13. Modern speedway has generally become sanitised, completely.. riders no longer race in the real wet, bikes are now super quiet, don't leak oil, have bouncy castle for fence, tracks have no proper shale......... It's now advertised "family friendly" bring the kids..... Controversial? Yes! But crowds averaging in the 100's, not the 1,000's True? Unfortunately, yes......
  14. Don't know how to isolate a section of this post, but you mentioned that speedway has lost its "identity" I actually think you mean it has lost its "integrity" Enough said...
  15. What's Woffy gonna do now?? Now Poland are using 3 race nights, Sweden use 2, So that's 5 out of 7 before you add in Denmark and UK... Perhaps UK, Sweden and Denmark would be better for a "less" busy schedule, if money is not the motivational factor??
  16. Did Boley end up at Leicester that season...?
  17. Tai was drinking directly from a monster can!! Yellow writing on it...
  18. Back to this national league is the same as the elite league, its not!!!! Do you think that if Arsenal, or Chelsea were relegated over the course of 3 seasons and ended up in league 2, they would still get 50,000 to 60,000 for every game? No, they wouldn't, it would drop to probably around 30,000 or so.. Speedway needs A Top League, with as many top riders as possible. Polands bubble will burst, it's over extended itself at the moment, it's like a Sun that's turned into a red giant, it will go pop!! We need to make sure we have a league that can take advantage of that, when it happens.. 2 seasons, maybe 3 seasons away from bursting, at the most...
  19. I'm not disputing the presence of a valid sicknote, come on, it was in Swindons advantage to do what they did, it's not the first time or the last time this sort of scam will be pulled....
  20. He was in quite a jocular mood in the Leicester pits that night, moving freely, and not scared of getting repeated slaps on his back.... Defo injured. NOT!!
  21. How's about come the end of the season, ALL points and rides taken by a number 6 or number 7, and all points scored and rides taken by any 1 to 5, that were gained riding at 6 or 7, including any reserve replacements, reserve swaps in any of the protected heats to be expunged from the racing records before averages for team building are finalised???
  22. Cor Blimey!!! So Swindon obviously pulled a fast one there, didn't they? But I suppose it was in the best interests of British Speedway!! Retrospective punishment? Unlikely, will they pull the same stunt next time Swindon race? Probably.... What a corrupt sport speedway has become...
