  1. I met her at a pre (New) Leicester Lions launch night, had my photo taken with her, a very nice person.. Wishing you well Charlie Webster.. #Keepfighting
  2. Yea, the rain didn't materialise either!! Still, that's what the punters want, weeks between matches, called off if track not 100%, and 6 man teams littered with guests and R/R, looks like a corner has been turned in British Speedway!! 😉
  3. Mileage would only have been just into double figures, so maybe 120 mile round trip from his home to Belle Vue, @ what, 48p per mile?
  4. Yes, I know. But Tai did say he would be running some training schools, didn't he...
  5. They cancelled the 2nd meeting... If they'd ran it, both teams were without key riders because of fixture clashes, team A, 3 guests and R/R, team B, 2 guests and R/R!! Only joking!!!!!!😊
  6. Having been "up close" to Bomber when machine examining, I can confirm he is very lean indeed, he is no longer wearing a "personal" bouncy castle, but does wear some bulky protection, and don't forget, he's only 5"5 when he wakes up in the morning, so often when Kevlared up, does look bulky... Bit like me!!
  7. What I meant was a rider of his calibre should NEVER be allowed into a situation where he rides in races that are protected for the EDR'S...
  8. Is Peddlebike still at reserve? This is another BEL anomaly that needs seeing to before next season....
  9. Double uppers and double downers... If they get injured, that's 2 British Clubs that are then short of a rider, this also increases guests and R/R
  10. I suppose this also includes his planned training schools?
  11. But the Premier Football League, and Champioship, plus leagues 1 and 2 play Fri, Sat and Sun afternoons.... If fans of both have to choose, I think the football would win.. Speedway is best in the evening, tracks are better, and there's less football.. The sport (speedway) can't afford to haemorrhage any more fans..
  12. I know, until proven otherwise, but it's worth discussion don't you think? If you don't want a discussion on the matter, don't get involved in the thread..
  13. We moan about missing riders to overseas fixtures, and yet the Elite and Premier Leagues cannot get their own houses in order fixture wise!! You couldn't make it up.......!!!!
  14. So what is behind the scenes at the BSPA? For crying out loud, it's a group of 30, middle aged business men who decide rules for the sport they fund.... It's not like the FBI or A multi departmentalised government, or huge quango.. It has to be down to funding, and the BSPA ain't got 2 pennies to rub together.... In my opinion. For example, the BPL abandoned new rear tyres for each league match down to the promotors being skint!!!!
  15. I think its down to money, the BSPA are pretty much skint. Things that TW wanted to have cost money and its just not there.. Speedway in the UK is, in the views of most councils a hinderence, noisey, a cause for complaints wherever a track is within 100 miles of anything representing residential.. It pollutes the water table, pollutes the atmosphere and blocks up A & E.. In Poland, that's a completely different kettle of fish, tracks/stadia are built by the govt, the running costs are subsidised by govt and rider wages part govt funded. Tracks are accessible pretty much 24/7/365.. it's also near as damn it on the schools curriculum!! If TW is only asking for a tiny bit of money from the BSPA, they just don't have it to give..... IN MY OPINION..
  16. You never know, they might have already taken on board ideas from this and other speedway related forums, and have/are incorporating the chosen rules/formats/punishments/rewards..
  17. Yes, it isn't looking good at the moment, but I expect a change of forecast, or modification of rain time by weds evening.... Very difficult forecast at the moment, must be due to that damn planet x or Nibiru what ever it's called....
  18. Here's a copy of the original tweet.... Tai Woffinden ‏@TWoffinden 24m24 minutes ago Good luck to #TeamGB in the future! A lot of you wont understand but true fans will! I ain't being mugged of any more #LastStraw #OverIt If any other top sports person tweeted that, dont you think that fans would be up in arms about it and would want an expansion and explanation of the tweet?? Quite rightly fans want to know how he's been "mugged off" He needs to explain, so fans know why, what and wherefore. Otherwise it does just look like he's chucked his toys out his pram, like a petulant child that's been told he can't go to the park today....
  19. Firstly, I started this thread before seeing that statement.. Secondly, how many times do people/organisations say one thing, and then do exactly the opposite!!! This clearly won't be answered until nearer the 2017 SWC!! I may have a small wager that he lines up for "Team Australia" in 2017
  20. Hmm, the statement does not explain his "tweetrant" in any way, shape or form.. The statement has smoke screened the "tweetrant" and it doesn't reflect the "tweetrant" content or its angry bias.. #nowiser "Tweetrant" meaning = A tweet that is written in an angry manner or Rant without substance.
  21. Big heavy rollers destroy the track surface, they crush shale and when under compaction from a roller tries to return to its original state, which is rock... The tractor wheels do a much better job of re-gripping the racing surface, once the shale has been graded in... [During the meeting]
  22. Just a thought, it's oh so very soon after this years SWC and getting Team GB A Silver Medal? Perhaps the switch of allegiance has been in the pipeline for A while..? Discuss....
