Ok, but they weren't available when the show was made.... They did say that Proving Opiate false positives were very difficult to micro dissect to prove drug miss use/ not miss use.. So that must have changed then, be interesting if someone could clarify that??

So 2 of the 8 man teams are rested every match, surely you need 9 for 6 man teams, 10 for 7 man teams (1 heat leader, 1 2nd string and a reserve?) Just a thought, because if you are missing a 2nd string, you'll need a 2nd string, and if your no 7 and 8 are heat leader and reserve, you're screwed or back to R/R or a reserve in main body??

So, I think it will be tight at BP this evening, track got naturally watered last evening, I know as I got soaked! And again this morning, the only rain cloud in UK was over the speedway!! So Weather forecast.. After this early drizzle fizzles out the morning will end on a bright note, if not sunny. Clould cover will break early afternoon to leave a fine and warm afternoon, temps peaking around 19c, and if the sun breaks out in earnest, we could get to 22c. No rain this afternoon and evening, cloud returns around 6pm/7pm and temps will fall back to 16c/17c, and it will feel pleasant with little or no wind.. So set fair for the visit of the "Pesky Poole Pirates" Are Poole at full strength (unless any incidents at Belle Vue this afternoon)?

Did or does anyone watch the repeats of Mythbusters? It's on the Travel Channel at 6pm m-f.... Well, to cut a long story short, they were testing the myth that eating foods with Poppy Seeds in/on, and could this cause the eater to fail an Opiates Drugs test..... One ate bread that was covered in poppy seeds, (he actually ate Bagels) about 6 of them... The other one ate cakes that had Poppy Seeds in and sprinkled on the outside, he ate about 4 of these cakes....... And guess what happened?? Yes, they both failed the test for Opiates..... And kept failing until about 15 hrs had passed!!!!! These are called False Positives... Just goes to show......

Don't think he'll want to race in the Premier League.... Firstly, if his bottle for first corners is suspect, it'll being worse for him in PL, and, they are more attuned to racing in suspect conditions and wet tracks, that really won't suit Rory....

Holder was pretty decent in last night's GP, very fast and reasonably aggressive, probably the best he's ridden in a long time.... But that was a GP, on a very well prepared track, and on his best bikes...... Wonder how he'll go Monday?

I have just nipped onto the Storm thread for last night's meeting, to see if any news about Sam Bebee? And guess what? There is a thread and an introduction post, but no comments whatsoever!! Why is there so little interest?

Before Lions joined the EL, and Belle Vue were the whipping boys, did they only get one meeting on tv a year? How many wooden spoons have they got in their prize cabinet?

Right, track grading...... How long did the 13 heat matches last in the 1970's? Leicester used to start @ 19:45, then, they eventually opted for 19:30, and I reckon the main meeting was done and dusted for around 9pm/9.30pm And they tractor graded, and raked after every race!!!! So, perhaps little and often, rather than 4 / 5 major track relays! Optimum Meeting Duration 90-100 minutes is about right I think, the main time consumer is riders farting around at pit gates (very start of race) clutch/rear chain tightening after practise start. And then, all the gardening and mind games at the tapes!! They are perhaps the 2 areas that need work to restore the "Goldilocks" meeting time..

Possibly the tests were planned to be taken before racing started, and the meetings fell foul to the weather before the riders got to the track, or got in the plane from Poland or Sweden..........

If, the speedway in the UK decided to go down the no "superstar" route, commit to UK, or you don't ride in the UK, creates a problem over aspiration.... Johnny Singer, new, debut in 2nd Division start of season, within a month had progressed to heat leader status, come June, he's in top 10 of the averages. Gets approached by Sparta Polski and signs, even though same race night clashes every other fixture.. Ronnie Bathurst, promising 18 yr old qualifies world under 21 series, he also becomes unavailable for 5 of his home clubs fixtures.... Simon Gronfer, heat leader (same team as Ronnie and Johhny) breaks his leg, and out for 10 weeks, team now has 2 heat leaders and top second string missing.... In Speedway, I think there will always be the need for guest riders, I don't see a fair way of getting around it, as Johnny, Ronnie and Simons team have lost 2 heat leaders + top 2nd string for a good chunk of the season, and promoting juniors, although admirable, will not be good for crowd levels..
