Swindon - Leicester Sep 1st

The bikes have been constantly upgraded over the years, they are A second A Lap quicker than they were pre 2000, and the tracks have stayed the same, but with less dirt on them.... The tracks were built to handle 2 valve bikes, with plenty of dirt on them, the bikes are so far ahead of the tracks, that's the issue... -
Erm-er wasn't that an "Ermolenkoism"? "Speedway out the top draw"!!!

Wasn't Ludwig injured, so could ride for neither team? Hurt back? -
If Krzysztofs average is about the same, saying he is poor is incorrect, as is saying he has improved!!

So, based on what's been said on here, Alex Hales got a bigger payday in the 4th one day international against Pakistan the other day, because he scored over twice as many runs than any other team member!! I cannot believe that anyone would think that the prize money in the speedway world cup would be divided any other way than an equal percentage for each team member, and perhaps a reduced payment for a non riding reserve....

Then you get water run-off down the track banking, which erodes channels in the racing surface, can be difficult to eradicate in between meetings...

You say that (Rory as replacement for Rob Lyon) But team manager can't be that well paid? And I'm sure Rory still needs to earn a decent wage?

You'll have to fit it inside a dog track, yes? So there will be size issues.. Also, banking might be an issue because the doggies will need to be seen all the way around the track from the main stand? So, the banking won't be allowed to be to high, as it will obstruct parts of the dog track bends..? Just a thought....

To be fair, since we did the track alterations pre season, the racing has been tons better at Leicester, and I am sure, there are fans on here will confirm that.... However, the weather in the run up to this fixture was truly awful.. The track was completely flooded after Saturday's horrendous thunderstorms... On Sunday, we managed to get rid of ALL the laying water by 5pm, only for the heavens to open again!!! And we were back to square one.. Then on Monday morning, on waking it was raining again!! (The only rain cloud in the UK was over Leicester!!!) So, once the rain stopped (around 10.30am) we set about removing the fresh laying rainwater once again, which was done by lunchtime. The rest of the day was spent on shale drying, and relaying the racing surface, which made the track slicker than normal..

Broken finger wouldn't keep him out, but head injury? Did he knock himself out? Because that's a mandatory rest.. I was on that corner, and when I arrived he was trying to sit up.. The impact had knocked off one of the air-vent covers off his helmet, so he defo took a blow to the head.....

Tracks don't hold up to well for heats 16 to 30, maybe ok for 16 to 18, then slick as Bruce Willis's head!! -
Drugs In Uk Speedway?

Ok, but they weren't available when the show was made.... They did say that Proving Opiate false positives were very difficult to micro dissect to prove drug miss use/ not miss use.. So that must have changed then, be interesting if someone could clarify that?? -
Lakeside "squad System"
Shale Searcher replied to speedwaysliders's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So 2 of the 8 man teams are rested every match, surely you need 9 for 6 man teams, 10 for 7 man teams (1 heat leader, 1 2nd string and a reserve?) Just a thought, because if you are missing a 2nd string, you'll need a 2nd string, and if your no 7 and 8 are heat leader and reserve, you're screwed or back to R/R or a reserve in main body?? -
Any other forum would be removing these Tai posts and asking members to keep the thread on topic..... So, I think it will be tight at BP this evening, track got naturally watered last evening, I know as I got soaked! And again this morning, the only rain cloud in UK was over the speedway!! So Weather forecast.. After this early drizzle fizzles out the morning will end on a bright note, if not sunny. Clould cover will break early afternoon to leave a fine and warm afternoon, temps peaking around 19c, and if the sun breaks out in earnest, we could get to 22c. No rain this afternoon and evening, cloud returns around 6pm/7pm and temps will fall back to 16c/17c, and it will feel pleasant with little or no wind.. So set fair for the visit of the "Pesky Poole Pirates" Are Poole at full strength (unless any incidents at Belle Vue this afternoon)?

Did or does anyone watch the repeats of Mythbusters? It's on the Travel Channel at 6pm m-f.... Well, to cut a long story short, they were testing the myth that eating foods with Poppy Seeds in/on, and could this cause the eater to fail an Opiates Drugs test..... One ate bread that was covered in poppy seeds, (he actually ate Bagels) about 6 of them... The other one ate cakes that had Poppy Seeds in and sprinkled on the outside, he ate about 4 of these cakes....... And guess what happened?? Yes, they both failed the test for Opiates..... And kept failing until about 15 hrs had passed!!!!! These are called False Positives... Just goes to show......
