  1. Perhaps any of the other potential guests either are genuinely not available, or they want £xxxxx to get on a plane, get £xxxxx to get their bikes out the van, £xxxxx for their team, and £xxx per point!!!!! Chris Harris is UK based, and to be fair, has been riding with an injury the last 2-3 weeks, and always gives 120%
  2. Exit EDR system, enter the new, improved, DER! EDR = Elite Draft Reserve.. DER = Draft Elite Reserve.... DER = same rules, different name!! Guest system abolished, in comes "IEL" Instant Elite Loanee, same rules as the old guests apply. Radical or what!!!!
  3. Re: Jason Doyles 2 yr deal...... What happens if the powers that be decide that next year, GP riders are banned from the Elite League? Or does "Rosco" have inside info on next yrs Elite League format??
  4. Maybe so, but it still opens the door for the "Ringer" getting into the reserve spot.... Just have one Brit, must be under 24 yrs old, and stays at reserve all season, that's the only way to avoid "Pedalbike" or "Klindt" similar happening..
  5. Is the Larsen "money" owed to, anything to do with "Kevlarsgate" from 2011 (ish)??
  6. Trouble with having this must have brit at reserve, is, if he improves, he ends up in the main team, and a jonny foreigner ends up dropping to reserve, like "Klindt" at Leicester, and "Pedalbike" at Poole, and the improved British reserve gets battered in the 1-5, confidence disappears... bit like "Sargent" at Coventry... It's hard to find 8 young Brits of equal ability, that when ensconced at number 7, can stay at no 7 for the whole season, no matter his average....
  7. I know, the rain band has stalled!! If you look at the hi res rainfall radar, you'll see that if it had limped another 25 miles south east, we'd be out of the rain now and it would of been sunshine all the way!! Now got to see if it can limp south east a bit sharpish, and be gone by 12 noon as I said originally........ Bloody weather, this is why club's need track covers!! It will stop raining, and had the track been covered, their would be absolutely 100% chance of racing tonight..
  8. The track is rock hard, should be little penetration from the overnight rain, as long as it stops by 12:00 noon/13:00, any surface water can be removed without damaging the track as most of the rain will have ran-off, which means it should be fine, the rest of the day is bright, 20c with a breeze, outside chance of a shower.. UPDATE: The band of heavy rain that is moving in from the west has broken up considerably over the last hour... Doesn't look like it's anywhere near the beast that was originally forecast... In by 02:00, gone by 08:00 I reckon now.....
  9. That was the run up to the recession, it did hit mainland Europe before we got it...
  10. A league followed by a mini league of 6 club's out of the 8 club's, that's whittled down to 4 who then ride in a micro league, then the top 3 club's compete in a round robin, of which the top 2 then play each other in a best of 3!!!!! To find winnner, second and third place!!!
  11. The Premier League is in as much do do as the EL!! Littered with guests, same number of doublers (obviously!!!) Random abscences, irregular fixture list, average manipulation, it's a league full of journeyman, failed EL riders and mediocre foreigners, with the token young British rider is an afterthought.... The whole EL/PL needs a major restructure, with Strict regulations on team building and race nights... + tons of other stuff..
  12. Not heard anything about the sale of the club, so, here's my take (my weather groups take) as it differs slightly from the Met Office, horrendous lack of agreement with the weather computer models, and ensembles... Heavy rain for Leicester, from around 02:00 Sat morning, will linger until around 11:00/12:00 Sat lunchtime, the rain will clear to the east, and we will be left with Sun/cloud mix, with a breeze, and dry rest of day, less than a 15% chance of a late afternoon shower.. temps around 20c Met Office have the rain hanging around until 14:00, and a 20% chance of shower.. I am confident in my groups take on the days weather.. Should be all systems go...
  13. You know, I thought that things were better then, but actually, they really weren't, were they....? An all to familiar situation.. Speedway is a very poor student.. Never learns from its mistakes. Speedway needs to die, it needs the life support machine switching off, and then, well, start again.
  14. So, no planned interval, just hope a rider crashes and gives people enough time to go for a leak or a drink of tea/coffee/other hot/cold drinks are available, but only if prepared in less than 10 mins!!
  15. The track record has changed this yr, after the track alterations shortened the length by 3 metres I think, so the track record was reset at the season start.... Not sure if Craig Cook holds it now..
  16. Perhaps Chris Holder is a bit wary on UK tracks? Having had a couple of big accidents, and being injured by a fence as apposed to being hurt from a stray bike....? Might even be at a subconscious level?
