Lakeside V Swindon 16 Sept 2016
Shale Searcher replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It will be gone in an hour or less, then clear/sunny/17c/breezy rest of day.... -
Watched this meeting last night, thought it was an excellent advert for the Elite League.... However, when riders are under starters orders (green light on) they have to sit still, but last night I noticed that particularly Rohan Tungate manages to have his rear wheel spinning before the tapes went up, surely this gives him a distinct advantage when the tapes do rise....? Should this be allowed? I have seen this practice before, but not to this extent and frequency... Thoughts please from the good people of the British Speedway Forum..

2017 Potential Signings

I have heard, that when Chris Holder had his big operations, when the surgeons cut into him, his body had Poole running through it like seaside rock!! -

Double R/R doesn't co-exist well with Sky, as riders have 2 on the trot, and it screws their tv timings!! I would imagine!! -
Wolves V Coventry 12/09.
Shale Searcher replied to Tommy Sweetman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Luckily it's coming from really high altitude cloud, and most is evaporating before it gets to ground level.. However, it's being discussed online as when the sun goes down, the hight you go, the colder it gets especially after sunset, the rain that's falling now could get distinctly heavier.... -

According to the latest satellite images/high res rainfall, there's rain heading your way, the saving grace is it's coming from high altitude cloud, and most of it is evaporating before it gets to ground level, but, this may change as temps fall at higher altitudes as the suns heat diminishes, it's just being discussed online as it wasn't in the forecast for today...... -
Speedway Referee Numbers In Decline
Shale Searcher replied to Dickie Head's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Perhaps they ought to firstly, to give themselves a bit of breathing space, increase the age of compulsory retirement by 2-3 yrs, voluntary of course. Then they need to advertise for some trainees from the speedway fraternity.. you know, clerks of courses, time keepers, pit marshals, machine examiners, track staff first, then open it up to fans themselves if still in a quandary... -
What's first prize these days? Remember from my Long Eaton days, I think the winners of Div 2 won a brand new JAWA!! What's the range of prizes now a cross the divisions....???

So was this a triple header? Never ever heard of one before... Or was it two PL fixtures and a National League fixture, or was it just a double header with sarcastic license??

Kings Lynn V Poole Elb 13/09/16
Shale Searcher replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Perhaps any of the other potential guests either are genuinely not available, or they want £xxxxx to get on a plane, get £xxxxx to get their bikes out the van, £xxxxx for their team, and £xxx per point!!!!! Chris Harris is UK based, and to be fair, has been riding with an injury the last 2-3 weeks, and always gives 120% -

Shale Searcher replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Maybe so, but it still opens the door for the "Ringer" getting into the reserve spot.... Just have one Brit, must be under 24 yrs old, and stays at reserve all season, that's the only way to avoid "Pedalbike" or "Klindt" similar happening.. -
Is the Larsen "money" owed to, anything to do with "Kevlarsgate" from 2011 (ish)??

Trouble with having this must have brit at reserve, is, if he improves, he ends up in the main team, and a jonny foreigner ends up dropping to reserve, like "Klindt" at Leicester, and "Pedalbike" at Poole, and the improved British reserve gets battered in the 1-5, confidence disappears... bit like "Sargent" at Coventry... It's hard to find 8 young Brits of equal ability, that when ensconced at number 7, can stay at no 7 for the whole season, no matter his average....
