  1. Do we actually know for fact riders are owed lots of money? I know people have said that they've been told by someone who's bezzie mate knows the girlfriend of whoever......... But, do we know all the facts? No We do not know enough to categorically say anything really about monies owed/not owed to riders, I would love someone who races for Leicester to actually state "I haven't been paid in full by Leicester, for services rendered on track this season" Doubt we'll here anything though until after October 31st 2016 And then I would still doubt it.... Other tracks are rumoured to owe riders monies as well, are they not?
  2. So, the only way anyone will use him in the EL league is going to have to plead for his EL average to be converted down to a PL average, then that figure converted back to an EL average, and whoopie doo, he's back at Poole as an EDR again...!!!! Crikey, these promising edr riders that improve are going to get locked-in to reserve!! Something is very wrong with British Speedway, very wrong..
  3. But, he is not a 7 point rider, he's the current world champion!!!! Should have been reassessed on his current "Live" league scores from Poland and Sweden..... Which would have probably meant Wolves would have had to get rid of 2 riders, which I bet they wouldn't have wanted to do...... So although not cheating, wasn't really within the spirit of sportsmanship, was it??
  4. They won't want his EL average used, why not use his NL average, or won't that be advantageous enough....
  5. Why the need for a list? Surely A line needs to be drawn, max age, not previously ridden EL and UK born is all that's needed, then let the promotors dig them out, scout them out........
  6. So, are you saying that Kyle Newman and others of that ilk like Paul Starke, Kyle Howarth, Josh Auty, Steve Worrall, etc should be EDR/2017 equivalent riders in 2017? If they cannot make it as second strings now in the top league, then maybe, just maybe they do belong in the Premier League/2nd tier of UK Speedway, otherwise there's no opportunity for more younger generation..... We'll end up with a plethora of 21+ something riders of good edr level riders and no new second strings, and consequently, no EL heat leaders and above, we'll be completely cut off from world team speedway, and no GP riders other than Tai Woffinden......!!
  7. So, there's 2 riders at least that should not be eligible to ride edr/2017 equivalent for Poole or Belle Vue next season....
  8. Totally agree, but we don't seem to have enough "good enough" riders to run 8 fully self staffed elite league teams, I don't want to see 3 more teams made up of recycled journeyman, with a recycled edr at 7, and a familiar guest at 1 or 3 every other week either.... You know, without a fresh influx of "new" riders, perhaps from abroard, I don't know how anything will change, especially with Poland's "Iron Curtain" restricting its team places/riders choices.. Perhaps we are doomed..
  9. The big problem in the Elite League, is when we get overprotective about young British Riders....... We say things like "lets have 2 young drafted British kids at reserve, they stay there all season, fine for the club's that got good ones, less so for the club's that got the poor ones.... So, we do the same again the second yr, but allow some to stay where they are, move some on, and introduce a couple of new ones... Year 3, because of the protected rides, most have not improved by riding in the most, the same riders last 2 yrs, so we go with in yr 3 they can move out of reserve, of at least one of them can, and because of that system in yr 2 there's no true British EL second strings around, so when a young British reserve does make it into the main body, you end up with a ringer foreigner 2nd string dropping into reserve!! And there have been examples at Poole, Swindon, Leicester and Wolves of this and it blows the having 2 Brits at reserve out the water!! If you say next season, all EL club's have to track 2 British under 20, or 21 say at reserve, the only way to keep that true is track 2 kids, that will stay there and improve, but keep em there all season, get rid of heat 12 as a protected heat and just keep the 1-5 averages grouped seperately from the reserves..... Or bin the 2 young Brits idea at reserve altogether, and go back to how it was, pre draft ideas....
  10. A lot of stuff starting on this date, could end up being a milestone date of speedway in years to come!!
  11. Also, we need to cut loose the the time served draft riders... How? I'm not sure, but cut loose they must be, otherwise they will not develop further in UK speedway, the "draft rider" tag alone, holds them back, wether by the will of "their club" or their "own will" as being in a "safe" "comfortable" zone... They should be promising, inexperienced, young British Riders in the draft, not experienced, "TRUMP CARDS" as some have become, whilst still remaining in the "kids club" end of the team, crikey, there are riders in the draft that are like 20 something's still in yr 2 at school!!
  12. If a rider is looked at as a "steal" on a particular average, then patently it's "NOT" a real world average, it's somehow contrived/manipulated to suit.. and should be thrown away/disregarded and an assessment made by the authorities.. Kyle Newman a 3.79? So you are saying on average, in the elite league, he should ave 3.79 points per 4 races?? So he finishes third or worse most of the time in the elite league... How can you in all honesty, actually say that???
  13. Sorry, but the track wasn't waterlogged, it had a solid base, admittedly, the top dressing was wet, but was drying out, the riders were to blame for this farce, the main protagonist being Shlein, and the rest of the sheep followed his lead.. We've all seen speedway start with wet tops, once you've had 3 to 4 races, the shale gets turned over and dry lines appear.... Every man and his/her dog thought this would go ahead, in this instance, the riders were to blame.
  14. He wants to race again, team manager perhaps isn't the same sort of "adrenaline rush" that racing provides!!!! Money is probably better racing as well!
  15. Ahhh, like Jason Doyle did with Leicester...... 3 yr deal as I was lead to believe, DH did lots of work to sort that out for Loyal Doyle, and he blew us out when he got his GP status after 2 yrs.... So deals aren't worth the paper they are written on!!
  16. Yes. but it's not a "can't" ride in the UK, it's "won't" be riding in the UK..... His choice, not the rules prohibiting him from riding UK..
  17. But, does doubling up cause riders to stagnate? Become comfortable, the income from riding for 2 teams, in 2 leagues, negates their ambition/need to get better? Could it cause the UK speedway scene to be totally populated by average British Riders? A third rate national team forever? The riders would become devoid of the need to improve their speed/skill/equipment and basically go no further in speedway?
  18. But, it could be tuned more precisely to Freddies riding style, for example, faster from the gate, or higher top end speed, or quicker mid-range acceleration, or....... Basically same procedure that riders do with their GM'S or JAWA'S, it would probably weaken the engines reliability, make it slightly more frsgile but probably not as fragile as the other engines currently are?
  19. Woffinden said "in Poland, you can use a new tyre for "EVERY" race, making set ups so much easier... That would be another added cost for Promoters in the UK EL... Don't also forget, that the Premier League voted to scrap "New Tyres" completely in their League, because PL promoters couldn't afford to provide ""New Tyres"!!! So the PL is obviously in really good health! Not!
  20. Think Go-Speed is a canker of British Speedway, it really holds it back media wise...
