No need, just add a start gate and line on the back straight, give the ref some binoculars to do the starts, the finish will be on Tue old start line, so 2 refs not required....

Is it the streamers that are actually nicking it...... And the watchers aren't? Like watching a stolen car go by? Just a thought...

Still no news coming out of SGB/BSPA/SCB/ACU Towers...... Surely, something has to break soon, A yes/no is needed and quickly, another maybe, May as well be a no.. Come on folks, give the Bees fans and speedway fans in genereal the news that's required...

Another claiming to be in the know.........

Don't forget the 20% VAT.......

So, if Buster is just an interim lease holder of Leicester Speedway (See Cov Thread) and is ultimately looking for someone else to take the reigns.... Who would you like? Who would be ok? Who you definately don't want?

If it was to give time for the Bees promotion to get Brandon up to H and S spec after the lease was sorted out, I can't see why that wouldn't work? The Bees temporarily using Leicesters track for the start of the season, why wouldn't it work? Just say for the Bees first 3, maybe 4 home meetings....

Oooooooops!! Slight misscount!!

Anyone that even had brief mental issue and thought about getting into speedway as a sponsor/promoter, and thought "let's have a look at that sports national forum" to gauge interest and the sports general feeling/place in the sports community would probably spend 10 minutes on here and then run for his life, book an appointment at the nearest psychiatrist, just to check he hadn't lost his marbles!!!!!!! Can't some posters on here play a bit nicer for a change, show some maturity to Coventrys plight and if they have to comment, hows about a simple good luck message??? Surely it can only be bad for speedway losing any track? This year, it looked like an additional team numbers wise to bolster our top league to 9 clubs, adding a bit more variety to league fixtures, now we need to hope that Coventrys plight is sorted out positively, just to standstill at 8 teams..... Come on peeps, let's hope Coventry get a positive outcome, for the good of our sport.... Rant over.........

Joonas Kylmakorpi is often referred to by the nickname "cup-of-coffee" Now if I remember correctly, he had a brilliant meeting for the Bees against Leicester, not last season, but the season before at Beaumont Park, but I cannot remember if he even rode against us at Beaumont Park last season whilst riding for Wolverhampton.. Can anyone remember?

Why can't they be a little more transparent....? Either some sort of lease is being negotiated, or not you would have thought.. Could they not at least indicate this is the case, or a at the moment there is no potential lease taker...?

Also, don't forget the oil no longer just drips out, so don't get on the exhaust pipes, they are no longer total-loss systems...

The "unique" smell of burning castrol oil, burning clutch plates, the noise of virtually un-muffled, single cylinder engines thrashing, the smell of proper hot dog sausages and onions frying, the clank of glass pop bottles rolling down concrete steps, the sound of kids trainers being skidded through dry, dusty shale, and the echoey tannoy competing with the old tractor fighting its way through shale.. That's how it was in the 70's......

British Speedway - Dead Or Alive?
Shale Searcher replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I agree that the racing at Scunthorpe is generally really, really good... Always passing, and rides well, even in the wet, and they always make a really good effort to get meetings on in inclement weather... The foods ok, and the prices are reasonable, but not much in the luxury seating/indoor viewing..... BUT...... Why don't they get the crowd levels you should expect from a track that produces top notch racing??? It should be packed to the rafters if attendance is based around good racing. But they struggle with attendances.... WHY??? -
If things were beyond coming off, then surely they would of said so.... Whilst no decision us forthcoming, then surely, there must still be hope?

Does British Speedway Have Future?
Shale Searcher replied to Pieman72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Don't think the top league in any professional sport should have an image of "cheap and cheerful" If a sponsor could be found that could provide funds for televised fixtures, on top of the sky deal monies, perhaps the tv fixtures could be run at no cost to the promoter, then, they could run the tv matches at little cost for admission, perhaps even on a donation to the "Ben Fund" could secure admission.... That's a win, win in My book, although that would mean a better and more spread of tv fixtures being allocated amongst the clubs.. -
Why did Sandhu rip the innards out in the first place, and in December? That makes no sense at all.... If he was gonna do that, he should have done it as soon as the last event staged was finished, not after the negotiations, and surely he should have taken them out without damaging/wrecking the substructures they were fitted to!!!!

British Speedway - Dead Or Alive?
Shale Searcher replied to SarahLapworth's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What I don't quite understand is, well, back in the 1970's/80's tracks were graded by tractor and rakers after "EVERY" race!!! The main meeting was nearly always done by 9pm/9.15pm..(13 heats) Now we have 15 heats, grading is only usually done 4, maybe 5 times per match, after heats 4, 7, 10 and 14 (roughly) depends on track conditions.... Still only finishing around 9.30pm, what's the difference? More regular grades, but shorter grades are perhaps quicker overall, than fewer, more extensives grades.... Possibly? -
If, the panels were made by having 2 parts, an upper part and lower part, with a 70% & 30% of current height, the upper part being the 70%, when a bike hits the fence upright, the upper section would lift, leaving the lower 30% still in its original form to catch the rider.... This dual section panels would need some fine tuning, but it's could be worth looking at...

The Premiership Cake Shop
Shale Searcher replied to BurntFaceMan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is their a list anywhere of riders that haven't got team places yet in the SGB Premiership League? I also mean a realistic list, not one that contains the likes of Greg Hancock, Emil, the Laguta Bros etc, etc....!! -
The Premiership Cake Shop
Shale Searcher replied to BurntFaceMan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Arex their any decent cakes left in the Premiership cake shop? Or are we down to the "whoopsie" (ASDA speak for near sell by date) ones left....? -
I said that earlier today, Sandhu has the lease, Jim Lynch promoted from manager to promoter.... Easy peasy, lemon squeazy!!
