Just announced. Home v Bees on 13th May East Midlands Bowl.
-
I think someone took an aerial photo of the alterations that were made to bends 3 & 4 last winter. Presumably that was taken from a drone.
-
The 2017 Regulations are now, at long last, published on the Speedway Control Bureau's website. http://www.britishspeedway.co/2017_speedway_regulations_website.pdf
-
As a Leicester Fan I don't really want to intrude on the Bee's fans grief but I really think that you should concentrate all your efforts on trying to get the Bees back on track in some shape or form rather than continuing all this bickering and playing the blame game. I am afraid that that is all water under the bridge now and the Bees will not be running in 2017!
-
I would be interested to know what the "more important matters within the sport" are that are referred to in Horton's statement. They must be huge if they are bigger than closing the Bees down!
-
Thanks Glyn. Is this measurement the same as on bends 3/4?
-
Good luck with the weather Glyn! Keep us posted.
-
I am sure it could be arranged so that some of the temporary seats could be above the toilets etc. Might have to provide nose pegs though!
-
I wouldn't think that there would be much time involved. I don't think we are talking thousands of names, probably just a few hundred. If data protection is a problem the new promotion could set up a new list without too much trouble.
-
Yes I thought that at first but then I realised that the emails which were related to the press releases said some thing like 'click here for full details' so to read the full article you were taken to the Lion's web site where the hit would be recoded anyway. The other point to bear in mind is that the emails were a direct contact with fans rather than relying on people to visit the website. There is no reason, providing the club is properly registered, why the email list, and the one which the club presumably keep in relation to season ticket holders, cannot be used for direct marketing mailshots e.g. advertising club sponsors products and/or services direct rather than just on the web site or in the match programme.
-
You could ask to be put on the Lion's email news list. They then sent you copies of press releases and let you know other things, for example if a match was postponed because of bad weather. It saved you from looking at the Lion's web site every 5 minutes when we had one of those rain drenched summer days. The reason for stopping the service was given as :- This will be the final e-newsletter as it is linked to the old website and was part of the package. Thank you for your continued support to the Watling JCB Lions and please check our new website regularly where all news items will be posted. I would have thought that a way could have been found to continue the service. I think that this is the only backward step the new promotion have taken so far.
-
Will anyone else be sorry to see the end of the regular emails from the Lion's management?
-
Perhaps the new sponsors could lend us a JCB to put the track right!
-
Like you I would like to be able to see what's going on in the pits but the situation of the pits at Beaumont Park is down to the planning conditions and requirements to cut down the noise as much as possible. I also agree that the meeting presentation could be improved.
-
You had to be a gutsy rider to ride at Exeter with it's steel safety fence!
-
What I can't understand is how Leicester were allowed to track a team in 2016 when they still owed money to the riders who rode for them in 2015! The BSPA must have known the situation and should have stopped DH from signing any riders for 2016 until all his debts had been settled for 2015. You can summarise Norrie's comments in 3 words - 'What a mess'.
-
Just checked when the track alterations took place last year. Looks like they started at the beginning of January but there was not time to do bends 1 & 2 so I reckon you can forget any track alterations this season.
-
I know the promotion have been busy team building but I am a bit worried that it has all gone quiet on the track alteration front. Presumably there will be some sort of 'Press & Practice' event before the first home league meeting so that only leaves 6/7 weeks to get any work done and for any alterations to settle in.
-
He got 14 points from 7 rides last time he was at Beaumont Park. I still would not touch him with a barge pole though!
-
Thanks.

How about having a double headers between Leicester & Coventry - one home, one away? It would surely make economic sense for the promoters and fans. E.g only one lot of travelling expenses for riders, fans, officials etc.

ok M69 gets congested at the M1 end on Fridays where it reduces to 2 lanes from 3 with only 1 lane for the M1 North.
