  1. I can't say if it's a good decision or not. I'm not a track curator and conditions at the track might be different to where I am. All I can say is that my garden was dry at 2.30 pm yesterday when it started to rain. It wasn't heavy rain and it had left off by about 8.00 p.m. What I will query is why the decision was taken so early, especially as Sheffield is only 70 miles away up the M1.
  2. I'm four miles from the track. Its been very windy but no rain so far today. It was sunny this morning but very overcast now.
  3. Home Try Speedway Info News Fixtures/Results Premiership Championship NDL Events More+ ROWE Motor Oil Premiership PREMIERSHIP PLAY-OFFS UPDATE Wednesday, September 3, 2025 IPSWICH have been confirmed as league leaders in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership ahead of this month’s play-offs. The Witches’ scheduled trip to Sheffield on Wednesday was postponed due to rain, meaning the Suffolk side cannot be caught before the cut-off on Thursday night. It means Ipswich will face a play-off semi-final against champions Belle Vue, starting in Manchester next Monday (September 😎 with the return at Foxhall on Thursday September 11. Witches manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “We are confirmed as top for the play-offs. It is great for us to finish top, we haven’t done that for a long while. “It gives us the second leg in the play-offs which everyone likes if we can progress and win it at home, if we can do that. “That is a long way off, we know we have got two very tough meetings against Belle Vue next week who are the reigning champions.” The other play-off semi-final, to be staged in week commencing September 15, will be between Leicester and Sheffield, with the order of legs to be decided by positions in the league table following Thursday’s fixtures. Premiership CEO Phil Morris said: “Sheffield did all they could to stage their match against Ipswich twice in the last week, and it’s very unfortunate that they were beaten by the weather on both occasions. “The play-offs will be proceeding according to the schedule next week. We already knew Belle Vue were finishing fourth, enabling their home match to be allocated for next Monday some time ago, and their opponents are now known as Ipswich will be top on Thursday night regardless of results.”
  4. If Ipswich and Leicester both win tomorrow night doesn't that mean that Leicester finish second anyway?
  5. I think it's all about making sure they have shown the same number of meetings from each track by this time of the season.
  6. I suspect Steve Worrall was picked because he scored 16 against Berwick on Saturday!
  7. Steve Worrall scored 16 from 7 rides against Berwick on Saturday so I suspect that's why he is guesting tonight!
  8. There's also a post from Dan Gilks saying he needs an operation on his knee and won't be back this season.
  9. My memory isn't what it once was but I think that when the City Council granted planning permission for the track they decided what the lighting levels should be. Despite there being no residential property near the track. Those involved at the time will no doubt correct me if I am wrong.
