Peterborough Panthers 2016
HadrianDog replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Cert. that he would be popular in a return to Brough Park- even in the opposition. That's Bjerre, by the way, not jenga {missed some posts} we have to draw a line in the sand. -
Though many posts on here seem only to make sense after a few post meeting jars
-
Knew I should have opened a new page re the Kus statement.
-
Well if it is who we think it is, then many of their fans don't want said rider- if the posters on their portion of this forum are to be believed of course! And now a post supposedly from Kus in which he had hoped to announce his new team on Xmas eve, but has been delayed by league technicalities. He does confirm he is transferring, but claims it to be to the 'strongest team on paper' in the league. Whether not that would be deemed to be us is open to conjecture. Oh for the vagaries of our rules and the all too regular attempts by some to bend them banana like on a personal whim.

Would love to know who is the Christmas Grinch who has caused us all of missing out on the extra pressie of finding out who our final rider will be?
-
My guess on the spelling Had never seen it written down
-
Old American slang meaning a good thing.
-
He's from outer space cos his reduction will be a dusey- travel costs are met from his end too.
-
Was at the Wasps' last ever meeting up at Glasgow and that Gjedde was far from jaded. Looking forward to seeing him at Brough in the coming season.
-
Not sure if that was a post or a still from an eighties Pac-man game? Either way- cryptically funny.
-
Hoping that to be deliberately sarcastic and not regionally defensive TWK
-
So, an extra incentive to be the one retained then? Or better still to reach a main body berth!
-
More like a certain club's official { official what?} has deliberately delayed signing on the dotted line to prevent us from naming our final rider on the night. Perchance an errant bargaining ploy?

Yeah, god forbid that the EL 'crème de la crop' have to travel further North than the 'Watford Gap' for a fixture! -
While I and many other Diamonds fans would love to see a 'bach to his best', Rene in the b and w's, has he not decided on a break from this countries' leagues in 2016?
-
Speedway Star has George saying that the deal on our final rider was done weeks ago, pending agreement on an transfer fee. Careful not to name said rider or his current owners. but speculation must be high for a Kus/Redcar connection. Also seems to rule out an European 7 pointer as the rider is currently in the PL according to the article.
-
I wonder if George and co. knew of this KL rumour being substantive and it is influencing their decision, hoping to persuade Kerr to return?
-
Seems like we are in an Haverlock/English showdown ala. OK Coral. All I can say is - aim at his nuts, George, and failing that, the polished baseball bat could be an viable option.
-
Yeah, thanks, post edited as such, cheers.

Interesting that the article on Richie being chuffed at being back at Belle View with his brother at EL level makes not a hint of his PL plans. I know the subject matter was EL based, but it does hint towards either him to be still in discussions or shielding some clubs' fancy announcement. Come on Richie, do a double brother link-up and sign for us too- you know it makes sense-pretty please. F*** It, was writing this when the 'new post' flag came up and had an awful feeling U should have checked prior to posting. Either way, good luck to Richie, unless against us of course. There goes our 'super sub' as well damn it other than away.
-
Not claiming to 'know' anything, other than the general opinion seems to be that Richie has had an offer lucrative enough that he has yet to follow though on his statement of intent to ride with his brother this year made to all and sundry at Brough. The 'big money, buy out from under' tactics of the Glasgow promotion in 2015 are well documented and thus the 'silly money' comment well justified IMHO. No, just a very lucrative deal on greyhound sh!te. One of those 'concessions' that George mentioned on telling the fans about our new stadium deal. Resisting the temptation TWK.
-
Or was money destined to lure back Richie used on Lambert when 'daddy warbucks' offered him silly money to go even further north than us.
-
Whomever we get, it is already more potent than the 2015 team which always looked to be 'on a budget'. Have the promotion suddenly had an cash injection or simply reasoned that better riders equal better crowd attendance?
-
With one change of Tero for Adam or poss. Anton, I would cert. think that 'fortress Brough' would be back for sure. Might even pick up some away points too.
-
And some less discerning people are very easily pleased. The sad thing is that in bygone days speedway had the same level of 'automatic' support.
