  1. I would say probably because he averaged 9 at home and 5.68 away from home I wouldn't have wanted him back personally I wouldn't take Allen on a 7 I'm all for new assets but that's one big gamble I would love to see Pepe back on that average he would be an excellent second string but his longtrack commitments may prevent us having him back
  2. I would say this could work in our favour losing Kus with the chances of Allen coming in on a 7 point average getting higher and higher if we added Kus in to the mix we would look seriously weak at the bottom end. Lots of issues to be ironed out I wouldn't be signing anyone until Allens average is sorted out.
  3. Makes very little difference still averaged more last season at reserve
  4. I have actually just worked it out Including guest bookings I worked out that in the main body TJ averaged 6.62 At reserve he averaged 7.17 I used the stats from www.speedway-stats.co.uk
  5. A lot of his good performances came at reserves, he's awful at Berwick and I don't see him upping his average Yes he is talented and yes he could end up doing really well for us but due to the reasons above I think it's a gamble.
  6. What about Doolan, Alex and Adam Roynon leaves us with 5.98 to play with It gives us a strong reserve in Roynon although he is very injury prone which would have to be considered I would say Pepe for the last spot but with his Longtrack commitments I don't see that happening Thoughts?
  7. Matej has always had the potential to do it and he did look superb last season I just think it's a big gamble and I already feel that Jorgensen is a big enough gamble For me it would be Kev but that's just my opinion he gives us more to play with average wise and he was Mr Reliable at the tail end of the season I think they will both be back though but based on the strength of some other teams that does make me think we may be toiling for another play off run.
  8. Kevs a better rider than 6.91 could see him going up to a 7.5 if he picks up where he left off its a big if though 2011 he averaged - 7.39 2012 - 7.36 2013 - 6.19 2014 - 7.52 He has been on this level for a while now its unlikely he will up his average up imo.
  9. You need a strong reserve no matter whether you have a big hitting number one or not Edinburgh are proof of this year in year out We had an excellent year last year with a very average 1-5 due to having one strong reserve the wheels came of when both Kus and Jensen were in the main body and Matty wasn't 100% as proved by our home defeat to Edinburgh in the play offs with Sam Simota at reserve Edberg would be a good signing although I don't see him as a lead reserve that will get double figures I would rather see Doolan signed than Kus can't see Kus upping that average and on late season form Doolan looked back to somewhere near his best and has more scope to raise his average I think but I think they'll probably both be back.
  10. It might be cheap but Robbo would walk in to any team I was putting together and Skidmore is capable of scoring big points on his day I'd be pretty happy if we had signed them Robbo especially.
  11. Four or five years ago maybe I would have him back though as the third heat leader in the number 3 spot he showed us he's still got it at the back end of last season.
  12. I think if we are to have a team capable of making the play offs we need to sign a quality second heat leader to back Barker up in the big heats.
  13. Barker - Cracking signing an out and out number once which is what we lacked last season in the play offs against the likes of Cookie and Masters very pleased with that Allen - I don't know an awful lot about but I'm pleased were trying out a fresh face we'll see what he has to offer Jorgensen - Don't really rate him personally he's never shown me enough and most of his big points hauls seem to come at reserve can't see him upping that average but I'd be happy if he proved me wrong.
  14. I don't think having both of them would give us the fire power required at reserve to do well in the league it would be on or the other and now that Barrett is away to Workington it'll have to be Alex who I would have chosen in the first place.
  15. I don't think it's crazy at all I would rather the promotion tried a new face with Alex rather than bring back the not so successful partnership they once had. He did look improved on the occasions I saw him riding for Peterborough last season but he is what he is a 4 point man can't see how bringing him in to partner Alex would be a step forward.
  16. I understand he is in New Zealand at the moment and isn't sure when he will be coming back and the talks stopped there.
  17. Jorgensen is an average rider from what I've seen he has scored well in past and did well for us although previously pointed out it was at reserve and against Sheffield. I would say 7.09 wasted as I've never seen anything from him especially at Berwick that has really made him stand out and on that average he is more than likely going to be a heat leader and I can't see him winning the big races. If this is our first name for next year it I think its a poor one.
  18. Winning is the aim of the game I'd be pretty disappointed if they didn't try anything to win in a grand final Not that my team will ever make it to a grand final to worry about things like this Cracking meeting shame the Rebels couldn't do it and end the Monarch monopoly it's a bitter pill to swallow watching them win but they do know how to put a team together.
  19. As much as I'd like to see us progress from this group I can't see anyone other than the Monarchs getting through with two big home wins and a win at Worky they could even win at Shielfield if we continue our stuttering form in the middle heats. I don't think Jensen will be much of a miss although he was our best rider at Armadale on our last visit as he seems to have been very hot and cold recently either untouchable or can't get near anyone whether that's down to injuries or not I do not know but I think we have adequate cover for him.
  20. Firstly great news about Matty and Aaron. Berwick is what it is and its not going to change and I personally would much rather watch a meeting like last night with plenty of ups and downs and that went down to the last race even though passing was limited than go to Armadale and watch the Monarchs beat everyone by 30. There is more passing at Armadale but I think it is due to away riders making mistakes as there are few riders other than the Monarchs who go well round there where as most of the riders in our league can go well round Berwick but if I was a Monarchs fan I wouldn't complain about them winning by 30 every week its just not that interesting from a neutrals point of view.
  21. Once again one step forward two steps back with this promotion Liam has been poor this season which is understandable it's a big step up from Buxton and he has struggled but to replace him with Alex just does not make any sense a fresh face would have been nice granted theres not much out there but this is a step backward in my view.
  22. Kevin and Matej are both underperforming the difference is Kevin will start scoring points I think when Claus goes to number one. Kevin has proved time and time again he is good enough at this level and this is just a poor start for him, Matej on the other hand has been like this for 3 seasons at Redcar and so far this season I don't see any improvement he hasn't scored more that 7 but has only failed to win a race at Edinburgh inconsistent at the very least. Been very impressed with the other boys especially Stormy and Claus. I think we will win on saturday I'll go 48-42.
  23. Meeting was won and lost in the reserves with heat 12 being a perfect example Sedgmens never went well round Shielfield but did his job and Steve Worrall looked like a heat leader Kus was typical Matej Kus looks good when in the points but when it really mattered missed the start and looked disinterested and Jensen so far is the biggest disappointment he needs to start scoring fast if we are to do anything when it comes to the league Can't really fault the rest of the team Liam had an off night but that is to be expected as he's still learning League Cup is a write off now can't exactly see us going to Derwent Park and turning the Comets over.
