  1. Think a lot of people are miising the point in that this is the normal time it takes, no shorter or longer than other cases.
  2. Ever been to a supercross, 250f pro circuit 14000 permananlty on the rev limiter, F1 18000- WAS 22000RPM, V8 engines don't like to rev but have you seen what nascar/ Ferrari etc have them running at ? yes single cylinder 500 tends really not to like to rev to high, BUT were talking 60 second races. To make a speedway engine last 8 months with a 4 month overhaul is easy with a decent design and all this rubbish is just tuners talk and a basic design going back 20 years with no real devolpment and poor design made of poor materials.
  3. Boring now this, maybe the FIM have hung it out as I have said before with his lame excuses. Not got my gear on didn't intend to ride mechanics carrying him out of pits with the knee injury as excuse as why not riding would it have been sorted earlier without all this and his lawyers trying to come up with every excuse under the sun ???? Bad stuff seems to follow him around and I think always will
  4. Yes, look at motocross, supercross, F1, motogp, nascar, over the season how many blow ups do you see ???? Less than five percent and these are all long races with plenty a revs and a lot of HP. Speedway engines blow up as rubbish design and no oil pump !!!! Oh and NASCAR run methanol for 500 laps at 850 hp :-)
  5. He is all about money and had no desire to be World Champion.
  6. Is that similar to being a DICK ? It covers ANY drug not disclosed or used without prior permission. The ban for all drink/drug issues is being increased.
  7. Just seen the new FIM rules on doping for 2015, any offence will carry a minimum 4 year ban.
  8. Dont think you can use Pontins and Prestigious in the same sentance.
  9. Indeed he is. be good to see how he gets on in MX1.
  10. Supercross and motocross run under AMA rules and only run in the states. Riders who ride MXGP do under FIM comps but with an AMA lisence as always. AMA have nothing to lose by kicking the FIM out of the states. The FIM and euro riders have a lot to lose though.
  11. Aero engines have very strict service guidlines, 50/100 hour checks. They are run at very low HP for there size. My lycoming has a TBO time of 2000 hrs. It is however 5.5 lites producing 180hp. very basic design but made to last not produce HP. I would not fly a plane with a GM engine, Period !!!! Or micolight with any engine
  12. The same as i hear the AMA is now going to distance themselves from the FIM ????
  13. Spoke to Kelvin about the new engine at the Torun sgp and he was very xcited about it. Competion with more engine makers should bring the cost down, also if it is good out the box like i have heard it will save on all these so called tuners costs. 100% agree Phil, the current gm engine is overpriced for what it is, basic rubbishe. The so called tuners in the UK dont have an engineering qualifaction that i know of, just there the best of a bad bunch who charge a fortune for basic tuning. Take motor cross, super motad and other 4 stroke single bike racing, they produce engines which are powerful but reliable. yes they can be tuned but the basic product is good. The main issue is the GM engine is not a good product from the factory and has had little Rand D for the last 10+ years. The best riders will always have the best equipment. been the same for the last 30 years. SGP has not ruined uk speedway at all. Look to the BSPA and the useless promoters for your reason it is in the state it is.
  14. As a Poole supporter i dont agree with the comments. Ward has been treated the same as others who have had similar issues. No worse no better. However the time taken to deal with all these peoples cases is far to long and the FIM need to look at this. For what its worth i think it will be an 18 month ban for Ward.
  15. Its not really the cost of the engine thats the problem, its tuning and service time that costs. Get a well designed modern engine which people can still tune but the cost of tuning and service will be far lower. If the basic design is good things like cams etc are not expensive to change to alter engine to riders liking. with a desent oil pump and circulation the parts will last far longer anyway. All this will reduce costs.
  16. The reason the GM does not last long is down to its very poor design, lack of lubricant and being tuned beyond its design brief. Yes a new engine is long over due and will reduce the large service and purchase costs of the so called tuners.
  17. Lets hope he is better at it than dancing. Looked like a monkey with a beer in his hand on the dance floor at the monster party after Gregs win this year. Not sure i have seen any other Race Directors doing this in the past
  18. Been changed as they want him in and trying to get more bums on all those empty seats Dont need Aus, just look at sales for the new Warsaw Gp.
  19. If they bought from them doudt tickets will ever turn up, had big problems with them and took months to get refund.
