are any wolves fans "happy" with your line up?,....
-
spot on, hancock move was great dedication, when other sides would of just seen out the season
-
just think you poole fans should just take it on the chin......the fact lakeside don't come in to the abuse you get, shows they not worth talking about..you will never get the credit deserved off these people..just sour grapes
-
wouldput pratt. adams, berry, ford in same bracket

Chris Morton - An Absolute Legend.

loved the "rent a rider" quote..those brit finals were cut throat days, had the excitement of watching winner, then had excitement of the riders desperate to make the cut..every rider had 5 rides to go for glory, todays closed shop stops that..i personally love the gps, but would love the return of the qualifications....did riders go awol before those meetings in them days? -
I suppose id hope for better racing on sky nights woffy retaining title winning world cup since 89 would be nice (optimistic here, but very few would of picked woffy this yr) track covers to prevent rain offs tac sub when 6 down re-introduced better sound systems at some tracks

agree, sorry, lets get back to subject

I am no ford fan, I just admire what he has achieved..who wudda brought greg hancock in with the wage he clearly commands..what promoters would of taken that gamble? winning equals sponsorship---larger crowds---more sky air time.---.trophies----atmosphere in stadium---bigger crowd attendance to any track they visit----which mean bigger income for YOUR club
-
puzzled by the people constantly knocking poole..a promoter with a winning mentality? yes pls everyday of the week
-
agree with all of above, all I was trying to say is, as a fan in the 70s (don't mean to harp back), yes still had guest riders, I just preferred pre-doubling up, knowing whose in what team, and not seeing same riders every other week in different race jackets...im fully aware it has to be how it is, and personally bringing in 20 odd national lge riders isn't a step forward for me..(know people will disagree), but surely its up to promoters to spot talent and sign them up themselves..after all, we do have the current world champion, who was spotted and came through the ranks. I DONT claim im rite, I personally unsure, and come October I would happily hold my hands up and say I was wrong....after all, this forum is opinions, and we all differ
-
I think I said the world cup almost got it rite..totally agree with you bout the joker rule..i do believe the gps are credible, and I wasn't havin a pop at lge racing, but it isn't easy to sell to a large audience, when things like 1 guest riders appear 2 r/r 3 poole last season racing with 4 guests and r/r 4 doyle riding at 1 with Birmingham whilst in prem lge, the list could be endless..just think personally, gps come across in the main as a proper sport
-
could you explain why that post is a joke? if riders wear 3 different race jackets a week does that do the sport credit? do you know who owns who anymore? gp rules are far more locktite than lge racing, unless you pinpoint what is soo wrong with the post?
-
know not all will agree here, but I preferred riders having there own leathers, rather than team colours.. even tho most still know whose who, there was something special bout john Louis tiger leathers, ole olsen in his black etc.. think they stood out more and looked more charasmatic
-
its difficult to feel you are ever watching "your team" when they are doubling up elsewhere, nite after nite.. it feels riders are just earning there crust riding where ever, whenever..course they have to make a living, but it get to a stage when you don't even know who owns who..the sport itself is fine, but the product is let down by a whole host of things.. it needs lock tight rules like the gp..gp racing comes across as professional, and the w.cup almost has it rite..
-
teams like, lakeside, eagles, ippo plus a few more, tend to stick by same riders yr in yr out..poole don't seem to hesitate in changing things around, they don't stagnate and just see seasons out..hence there success

ljung one of best signings imo -
think they be some real weird averages come October , anyone having a good yr in a diluted league could be hard to employ in 2015

Peterborough Panthers 2014
ColinMills replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
any team not winning the league after topping it would be disappointed, but this format, rightly or wrongly is not a new thing, the league title is decided in a play off format..simple..hence poole are league champions Mod Note: Please remember to use vowels in your words too! - no abbreviations/txt spk please. Post amended -
I know people say you should support team through thick and thin, but as far as brummies are concerned, joe bloggs can see this line up is not play off material...the fact is, no club increase attendances hovering down the table.. clubs will only get die hards, and as much as people moan about fairweather fans, its those exact people that makes the difference of financial gains/loss
-
let me re=word it than bluepanther..belle vue were a huge name in the "speedway world", and now poole clearly are..whether its a big or small sport, in the world of speedwy, poole are a big club..nit picking or what?
-
have to disagree with gavan, but hey, we all have different opinions, personally sport IS about winning..the taking part attitude isn't for me...sport is competitive, give me the matt ford mentality everyday of the week..again, I no poole fan, but you have to admire there position
-
who would you suggest the biggest club?.. I personally think you judge biggest team by trophies won/crowd attraction, and who draws in crowds on their travels.. in modern day speedway, I would have to say poole myself....belle vue if you go back in history, but in todays world belle vue are miles away..Ipswich under berry were awesome, and the bees too have great history
-
wolves may well surprise me, but with away format, woffy going from ht5 to ht 11, looks an open goal to do the damge
-
y starting line up, wolves bottom spot me thinks
