  1. what even makes him think we should back him? hes never put a real challenge in for the title, had numerous wildcards, even this year creeped in through the back door, age is against him, and in a weaker league, got a naff average! <text speak altered>
  2. for once im lost for words interested in rosco"s view on this..he must hold an "opinion"
  3. whats with the age?........start marshalls could do with a bit more power id suggest
  4. think you know its not what I meant
  5. think the old ht 8 double tactical rides against numbers 2 and 7s created great races for me, when they outgated the top riders..as more exciting than this joker rule nowadays
  6. darcy racing understrength riders don't excite me much, it was the rush to the turnstiles where you got john Louis racing ole olsen in ht 1 or michanek racing Wilson etc
  7. cant agree with that.getting pts for losing is ridiculous
  8. there was a pre match anticipation, with that speedway smell, rules EVERYONE knew..
  9. I recall ole olsen especially coming to your track, penhall, lee, etc, riders that would get you talking before entering the stadium, another thing we don't have today.. will woffys world title get local newspapers hyped up when hes in town?.......don't see that happening, but tracks where hes appearing should jump on the bandwagon nowadays
  10. never ever questioned ivan"s ability..professionalism at all, and agree hes a utter legend....only stated he was up on the rolling. alongside ole olsen
  11. can to a point see it at gp level, only because the girls are professional and in step,,,,,,but lge level looks very amateur
  12. ss like everything, can be improved upon..i recall getting the ss as a kid and trawling through it to cut it up (sorry pr) to make scrapbooks, was great when you got your fav rider in colour..and was good when the whole back page was full colour picture..also think as a spectator, pics were better with riders in individual colours, before team colours emerged, for me, lost a bit of colour from the sport...I guess it was for the neutrals, but again, just one of those lost things in speedway
  13. im neither for or against, but not sure what it adds to he meeting, it surely don't attract a single customer in through the gates, I wouldn't of thought
  14. simple question..what is the point of this?
  15. would take issue with mauger as a great starter..(although he was), but the rolling starts over the tapes is a totally different concept than today.......and im takikng nothing away from him, it was the rules at the time, and he mastered it..great rider, never brilliant round foxhall though! theres riders that were never the best gaters, and never really changed throughout there careers..bonus like Morton and the likes as made better racing, think Jessup was electric
  16. yep, know what you mean..think others do, but like most, they just give up and walk away
  17. maybe not just penhall, maybe love them or hate them the usa riders as a whole? penhall, cook, sigalos, moran"s etc
  18. don't think I actually blamed sky, I maybe should of said sky hasn't increased attendances
  19. with the watering down of sides, im sure 1 league could happen, it would give more variety, and riders in just 1 team
  20. speedway was better attended before sky! that's answred you........sky always felt it had to explain the rules 10 yrs on, they don't do that with darts, tennis etc,, the constant crazy rules speedway shoots itself in foot with don't help/guests..(poole had 4 guests and r/r one night)!.. promotions that really tried, did keep attendances reasonable, and I know commentators have to make a bad game seem interesting, but viewers are not daft..
