  1. i can put up with rob72 with his views, some points are decent, some are not, but why the secrecy? he says riders going in free to stadiums is good pr, but how if we dont know him? he says he rode, but wont say who he is? id respect him for riding even if he WAS crap, just dont get what hes trying to achieve, but his choice i guess
  2. only just seen you tube clip of tai signing that wall..big respect for that
  3. if speedway was a BIG sport, the pr argument might just be taken into account. unless your a keen fan, lots of people wouldnt reconise a speedway rider with his helmet off, let alone in normal clothes!
  4. 1 ...2 nights racing a week, promotion/relegation, no guest riders, all of a sudden I feel optimistic...could this feeling be the start of a upturn?
  5. finance aside, promotion/relegation is perfect for fans, it makes every match meaningful whether you in top or bottom half.
  6. why should you expect to get in for free rob72? I assume you were paid for your services at the time of riding? I would guess its up to the promoters discretion?
  7. woffys selection.....re-twitter woffy king/s. worrall lambet cook ellis/bates.....
  8. eddie kennett beats king for fun in the prem league, but dont hear kennetts name put about
  9. on the basis of cardiff last yr, neither is cook. yes he scored ok, but he backed out in a few situations
  10. harris hasn't done it for yrs in the GP, but......I do think he performs in the world cup (albeit not last yr)!
  11. agree...if the pick was today....but "if" he goes and bang in two 12point scores and king does his normal 4 to 6, what would you do then? no one has to select a team on a one off performance...what has king done for witches this year? and ave just around 5.60 at Coventry? not spectacular really?
  12. king did get a reward for it, hes at Cardiff..king is not an international standard.. Only Tai is guaranteed points, lambet and cook should be automatic..the rest is open, and its too early to write Harris off for a spot imo.
  13. my point was, the best team will win the league, no matter how often you freely give losing teams a point
  14. has anyone noticed if the league outcome would be any different under previous league scoring system?
  15. the best way to bring on youngsters is by giving a test series
  16. age isn't always a factor. I admit I don't know Jason doyles age, but he progressed late on, hancock is an exception!
  17. for me,king is not performing in prem league and averaging under 6 for Coventry, I cant see him being an automatic pick. "if" being brit champ, gives him a kick, and he becomes consistant, then yes, but too early for me yet
  18. not automatic imo. yes he had a great night, but whose to say next week, bomber has a stormer, nicholls even? yes king is british champ, but I'm nowhere near convinced hes a international standard....just my opinion
  19. I think steve Brandon could of possibly asked tai the question at the GP, sometimes its nice to listen to a varied question, other than "hows track conditions", but the brit final is done now, so maybe this thread will soon end?
  20. nice to see GB team selection make the daily star today. for once, we are back to a selection, rather than automatic picks. imo the 3 automatic ones are tai, cook and lambet...
  21. you are right and pretty good thread, just seen brit final, thought it was really good. excellent move by king in the final. yes, the standard don't match up to the past, but if you look at it as a night out, belle vue dished up a "good night out". if you look at it as the future of speedway, are you still optimistic? I'm guilty of comparing it with the past, but I now realise, like tv entertainment, the golden age is unlikely to return..its about accepting what we now have
  22. hope these kind of threads continue in this manner. good points made here..
  23. its a well tought idea, and would probably be ok in poland or denmark, but not convinced britain has the depth in quality to run this over 3 nights tomake it a financial success (and its nothing against last nights riders)
  24. although I wouldn't pick king, the british champion must carry some weight....id go woffy, lambet, cook, harris, worrall
