  1. this past /present debate is clearly individual preference, for me, I preferred 70s in both league and world championships...everybody has different view, but at least I actually seen both...
  2. totally agree, but in "my opinion" speedway as a package was credible, rules that wasn't swayed the way they are today..i cant see many sports around that has lost the fan base in such huge numbers the way speedway has.
  3. or Wembley crowd doubled Cardiff, mainstream TV covered our sport (world of sport), national newspaper gave it credibility (daily mirror)
  4. leigh adams, craig boyce, Jason crump, travis McGowan, shane parker.i believe 2002 when known as silver machine
  5. hard to believe they never won it with that Australian line up, back in the PROPER league days
  6. just wondered if WINNING a GP should up your chances of a wildcard?
  7. blimey.....speedway and rules don't go together....list is endless, nicholls riding for both finalists last year...a promotion relegation(joke idea), have a rider who represent both teams
  8. was all around the kings lynn area last night for a show attended, but saw no posters on display about the play off....whenever theres a circus in town, posters are up everywhere...not blaming the promotion, but bearing in mind kings lynn have never won the top flight league, would of thought plugging this everywhere may of helped...a little?
  9. having seen both gps and old style world championship, its old style for me everytime..(my choice) my reasons are you had the drama of the one night final, but you got to see a variation of riders along the way...im simply bored with a closed shop of riders every round, then as sometimes happens, the same riders get given the wildcard...add on top of that indoor speedway, no thanks
  10. good luck poole…...butid say good luck to ANY team, if it meant stopping kings lynn winning the top flight title for the first time!
  11. the product no longer works. reasons are endless, probably all gone over on here. when I return from a cruise holiday you get a questionnaire.. What would make you return?
  12. Parker passing and re-passing louis/rickardsson in craven shield round kings lynn
  13. would guess its not easy with it being the throttle hand
  14. wolves my preferred track for racing, agree with poole over kings lynn, though saddlebow USED to provide quality racing, enjoyed overseas titles there
  15. I would guess most people here could name the teams no1 during the gulf oil british league. riders did create buzz and interest, for me Olsen...seeing people like chris pusey, soen sjosten just once a year was a reason to get to the track...for me, I cant be done with rider sharing, we all different, I even preferred 13 heat format,..it worked, rules were kept too, more than today. we all different
  16. spot on...what a rich vein of riders England had all at the same time...louis, Jessup, betts, simmo, Collins, ashby, kennet, Morton, Wilson, wyer.....and we saw these riders every week, no wonder it thrived
  17. I don't recall riders given byes into the final? not saying you are wrong, just don't remember that
  18. yes, Wembley had the majority of finals, but in those days, most riders (and the best) rode in Britain. today Poland gets 3 rounds, they now have the best. Tai clearly is the only true world class rider in Britain. its such a shame belle vue isn't the gp venue, its an amazing track that easily produces the best racing in this country
  19. I may be wrong here, but from memory, didn't tai enter the gp system as a wildcard in 2013? if im wrong in this, (I hold hands up if wrong)….wasn't this due to lack of british riders qualifying?
