  1. no, I couldn't see them scheduling it a night before..agree...I never denied its an ideal date martin ashby was never a major contender, so hardly same comparisn
  2. ULLEVI...one of worst major race track I ever visited
  3. of course "it could" he "could" get injured in a league match, he "could" miss the plane, he "could " win both!...he may not even be in contention!......anything "could" happen!
  4. I'm not disagreeing with you that its ideal, far far from it. its one round of the GP calender. I seriously don't believe it will cost him the title. Bearing in mind, he has no british dates, I would of thought, just one big effort, one day of the year . Travelling miles is an everyday part of life to a speedway rider. I would understand more if it was a league fixture, but the british final, I would assume, is slightly more appetising.
  5. in that case call me deluded. I think we both know of riders who has ridden in 3 different countries on 3 different nights. its not that unheard of for an international rider. I really do doubt, one big effort one weekend would not ruin any world title bid.
  6. its ridiculous to ride a night before GP? come on? its not impossible is it? its one big effort, the ONLY effort in one whole season. this is one issue I cant back woffy on.
  7. certainly does (though you wouldn't think so if saw twitter details) ,but yes that's right
  8. be interesting to know if any NEW fans are on this forum for their views? but I don't think there is.....I always said, until we get credibility like the grand prix, speedway is doomed. theres too many gimmicky rules with very little credibility, buster did say he would listen, but very few signs of it at present
  9. you will see I have had a poke at Tai, but I do believe you have to be fair, when he does something good. its not my thing, but most youngsters tend to have tattoos these days, and probably out-weigh the ones who don't. I'm not sure any sportsman has to be a role model, you live life for yourself and your family not others. I would say the people taking a pop at Tai, would still be first in line for a selfie, if he was near by. I believe he should be at the british final, but that's a separate issue. I know when I was younger, I would of loved an insight from the speedway champion of the day, and those that do "could" one day, say they had tips from the first 7 time world champion!
  10. the product isn't right..big empty spaces and no atmosphere will never entice youngsters, and us "oldies" who has seen the sport diluted with crazy mix n match teams are losing interest
  11. i have booked darts players for exhibitions in the past, the likes of scott Mitchell £700 (didn't book him), same as kevin painter and wolfie..you try booking phil taylor!....any champion can and should demand as much as he can get, its a short term profession
  12. blimey,as stated earlier, i have dissed Tai over the british final, but any potential rider would love to learn from the best. Of course any world champion of any sport would make the most (financially) its stupid to think otherwise
  13. if you forward wind 10 yrs, its extremely unlikely domestic speedway will be around, unless theres a major upturn
  14. whilst i thought Tai missing the british final stinks, on this occasion, i think he deserves credit. If theres any possible british youngster out there, what an oppertunity for them. As for whatever the cost, would you expect Andy Murray, Phil Taylor etc, togive their time on the cheap? these are champions, and will always be a little bit costly. Yes i have had a poke at Tai, over stuff, but i think its only fair to give praise when its deserved
  15. get most of that, but consistent refereeing? dodgy refereeing creates atmosphere and passion
  16. monster appears to be a big sponsor, but just look at there website, no pictures of speedway at all on there main page, it highlights how low speedway is, when it comes under those other sports on that site
  17. agree hes better than 5 of the bees riders, but WHEN bees strengthen, I doubt Bjarne is a rider that would send a buzz through your bones
  18. "popular" isn't a good reason for signing him. hes a spare part rider these days, the kind of rider who "fits in"
  19. i believe there was a grand prix style competition in late 70s? early 80s?
  20. watt or Bjarne? wouldn't want either! both in the same mould these days
  21. end of d/u and ftr....personally just want a team of 7 riders. realyy detest riders swapping race jackrets every other night
