Your Polish trip sounded great mate. Inspired me to think about a visit. You planning anymore? i reckon a fair few people off here would be up for it. What'd be an approx cost for an in and out visit?
-
I do give a toss mate and will try and do what I can but it'd need to be tested at the levels it goes out at during a meeting not before (when it's on quieter), hence a Sound Engineer being there throughout all the meetings. Plus the PA is constantly being changed in the various areas to suit, dogs, stox etc. The easiest thing is to tell a steward who will tell the engineer who should rectify it, but bear in mind if someone 2 seats away from you prefers it loud and requests it's turned up a few minutes later the engineer isn't going to keep adjusting it at a whim. Maybe locating a quieter area of the stadium would be a better option if it really bothers you but it should be your perogative to sit where you like and I understand that but everyones preference levels wise could well be different as it will be with styles of music etc.

I can't sort it out mate because the only speakers we have direct control of are the big ones on the dog track at Brum. At Cov I can't be on and off the track checking volume levels all the time as the have a sound engineer for that, it's his role to roam the stadium and check its appropriate. And re me having the word of the management I've been chasing Charlie at Brum for nearly a week now lol. And Yorkie wise as I explained if he's turned down then he will just talk louder as he's used to hearing himself at what he deems an acceptable level. Music wise and loudness wise we, again are guided by the promotion, it's a double edged sword, too loud alienates the oldies but then they want to encourage the youngsters and entertain them. But are there any youngsters? Maybe so at Coventry but definitely not at Brum. It very hard to please everyone mate. Every week at Brum someone approaches me re how quiet it is on turn 4 but if we turn it up on the master then someone on bends 1 and 2 or in the bar will complain it's deafening and the bar staff won't be on the ball enough to adjust it. We can but try........

Thanks fellas good to hear its appreciated. Some people dont like the associated jingles but each one is thought out. Its just getting in sync with our warped minds thats tricky at times to identify the link. With the playoffs looming Brandon should be bouncing again soon. Who knows I might even throw in a War Cry, although that probably wont suit everyone

At Cov the speakers are all operated independently and they have a sound technician so any problems just let a steward know and they will let him know. I know the main volume was dropped at some point on Friday as Rich told me on the way home. At Brum it's a bit different the outside is all one volume so if it's lowered in a loud area then someone complains in a quiet area they want it turned up (eg turn 4) but the individual bars have their own controls so again if it's uncomfortable in the bar just ask the bar staff to turn it up or down. Most stadiums need a big upgrade sound wise to cope with modern music presentation styles as they haven't been upgraded in years but then money is tight in the sport generally. Brum's so poor on the home straight that we have had to source seperate external PA speakers to ensure the home straight can always hear. A few seasons ago it used to go on and off during the meeting which was really bad. Not passing the buck but we just plug into the existing systems and they are controlled by the stadiums but we're happy to try and get the message across. With Yorkie he has a volume level he is used to hearing himself at through the tannoy so if he's on quieter he then speaks louder, His mic had an issue again this week due to some problem caused by the dogs so fingers crossed should be sorted for next meeting for his pits interviews. Apologies for any issues, we are working at both tracks to do everything in our power to make the presentation the best it possibly can be but a lot is out of our control.

http://www.wiltsglosstandard.co.uk/sport/10985194.SPEEDWAY__Terry_Russell_sets_up_live_streaming_link_with_At_The_Races/?ref=var_0 SWINDON ROBINS speedway team begin their final season at the Abbey Stadium in March as a new era dawns in the sport as a whole, with live daily streaming of race meetings. The building of the new venue for both speedway and greyhound racing at Blunsdon has suddenly come off the back burner with the diggers due to move in this week. Meanwhile, fans will soon be able to watch and bet on their favourite sport as speedway begins to shed its shabby mid-20th century image and drags itself into the digital age. Long-time benefactors of speedway, Sky Sports, recently signed a new five-year deal to televise a minimum of 25 meetings a year, starting with the Elite League Riders Championship from Coventry at the end of March. But awareness of speedway is set to be expanded both domestically and globally thanks to a partnership between the leading dedicated horse racing channel At The Races and Go Speed International. GSI, founded and run by former Swindon Robins co-owner Terry Russell, owns the exclusive media rights to British speedway. Sport Mediastream, a new in-house division of At The Races, will supply the technology to beam an audio/visual service of live and archive speedway races and data six days a week to fans via PCs, mobiles and tablets. The 4G technology will be trialled at Swindons greyhound meeting this Saturday by At The Races. Swindon Robins, Elite League champions in 2012 and one of the more successful clubs in the division, were not immune from the financially precarious nature of the sport and at one point last season their riders threatened not to race over non-payment of fees. Russell insists that all Elite (10) and Premier (13) league clubs will benefit eventually from the new revenue stream although at the moment, he says no money is guaranteed. Russell told the Standard: I have been working hard on this project with At The Races, who are partly-owned by Sky, for more than a year. In the first season it will be Bet To Watch'. Speedway fans will need to place a bet in order to gain access to the live streaming of races they are interested in. But in 2015 we could see speedway action live every night in betting shops and there are 10,000 of those around the country. Russell envisages the shows being up and running when the two leagues begin at the end of March. With almost 650 fixtures to choose from, in addition to those covered by Sky, there should be regular opportunities for Swindons speedway fans to watch and punt on their heroes. One meeting a night will be featured. As the only Elite League fixture on Thursday, April 3, Swindons opening clash of 2014 with Coventry looks a prime candidate for At The Races coverage. The line-ups of teams are known two days in advance which gives the bookies ample time to set up their odds, and the results will be supplied by the Press Association, said Russell. I cant say betting is something that interests me personally. I can spend a week in Las Vegas without betting a dollar. But this is a great opportunity for speedway to monetise and raise its profile. It should prove a huge boost to awareness of the sport." Matthew Imi, chief executive of At The Races, said: "There is a lot of depth to the sport (speedway), performance data, tactics and scoring systems that we think all serve to make it an exciting prospect as a betting product. "Through our Sport Mediastream division we look forward to developing this and other opportunities directly with our many bookmaker partners." Meanwhile, a Robins insider told the Standard that work was about to get under way on the new stadium development at Blunsdon. This is the last season of racing at the Abbey Stadium, revealed the source. The Robins will have a new home for the 2015 season. The first job will be to relocate the away team pits because that structure is due to be pulled down to allow the new access road to be built to the new stadium, which will be adjacent to the Motorola site.

Maybe getting DH on the BIKERfm Speedway Show would be a good idea with the opportunity for fans to ask questions over the phone or send in messages and questions? Having read this thread in its entirety to date it seems most people's opinions is the straights are too long for the tight corners and the costs with drainage are prohibitive to moving the bends in. A suggestion could be to only move one bend in to half the costs, bends 3 & 4. If you would like us to approach DH to come on the show to answer your questions we can set that up? -
