Will this meeting ever happen, as someone said who pays the fine anyway. The whole thing with BP is a total shambles. The best thing that DH could do is to just walk away from it give the stadium to a new promoter who knows a bit about running a speedway club. Can't see him ever doing that though. He should hang his head in shame for what he has done here, for all the hard work that so many people put in to get speedway back up and running again in the city, for it only to get in the mess it is in now. All because he would not listen, he would not listen to anyone on the track shape, this is my baby, keep your nose out, then the worst thing that happened he took the club into the Elite League. Running the team on a shoe string budget. This year was even worse, he got together a team that would have stuggled in the PL and the fans started walking away. Lost his main sponser and noone else wanted to know. What will 2017 bring, will things be sorted out over the winter and see the Lions under a new owner or will the stadium be locked up and taken over by the council and be bulldozed flat. The last part I hope doe's not happen, I just wish they would have the guts to come out of Lala Land and let people know what is actually going on. Mr Bump mentioned the Mafia, even they talk more than the Lions management do. What a terrible state of affairs to let, things get this far. Shame on all of you if you let speedway die again in Leicsester..

Liecster built a new purpose built stadium. And a nice great little stadium it is too. Very nice clean toilets and a grat stadium to watch the racing from, shame about the track and the rubbish teams they have been putting together since they joined the Elite League. It was far better when they where in the Premier League, at least they put together far better teams than they hva now. Plus the fans have been walking away in droves, but the powers that be can't see why and all they do is complain about fans not turning up to watch. I go with my grandson and we have a 30 mile each way journey with the £28 plus a programme and a couple of £1 raffle tickets, and on top of that the cost of diesel I am looking at £60 for a rubbish night out, not been this year, they have ateam that would have really struggled to compete in the Premier League. It now looks like the whole thing has gone belly flop, I just hope we don't lose the sport in the city again, there is talk of new management for next year but it has all gone quite again on that front. How any one can let a stadium like that not work other than shear blind stupidity on David Hemsley's part who would not listen to what any one told him and let things get to the point they are now is a shear disgrace.

What Would You Like From The Agm
weatherwatcher replied to kingbee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The AGM is an annual get together by a bunch of people who run the sport. The sport would be dead on it's kness if it was not for the fand turning up and paying thier money. So I should think that when they hold the AGM, That from the clubs that make up the EL, they should be made to allow 10 people who go to watch the sport and pay to keep them in business to go to the meeting, sit and listen to them waffle on and on for 2 days and chage very little at the end of it. to be able when all the pointless nonsense is over and done with, to have thier say, to let them know just where they are going wrong. Not that they would listen, but at least they would make it plain that they actually realise that without the fans then the whole show, would grind to a halt in a matter of a few meetings/ -
Saw holder a couple of times when he came onto the track to talk to a rider, he seemed to be limping preety badly on his left leg, think that bit crash he had is now taking its toll on him. There is only so much damage the body can take.
-
It didn;t so much backfire as completly blow up. For all the swaping and changing of riders, it all turned a very nasty shade of Purple for the tonight. The best team won.

What ever happens, this is going to be a final that will be very hard to call a winner, but when push comes to shove, I think that Belle Vue win win. It would be the icing on the cake for them, with this thier first year at the new stadium, what a track it has now turned out to be, it is going to be a nail biting 2 legs.

Belle Vue V Lakeside 2nd Leg September 26
weatherwatcher replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
An easy win for Belle Vue, shame they only gave them so very little coverage of the races. It was a Poole night that went the wrong way it should be a cracker of a final betwen to of the countries top teams. At least they will be able to show all the races next week. That is unleoss they manage to get Poole to do an extra 2 meetings and cover that and show highlights of the finals. only joking of course. But do Sky love Poole. -
What was the article about in the Speedway Star. Was it all bad news or was there a rosy glow on the horizon

So what is happening at BP and why are they not holding the meeting there when then had the National League final there last week. Something smells like what comes out of a cows bottom here. It was about time they came clean and let the fans know just what is going on and are there any plans for next season. Would be a great shame if we lost Liecester for a second time. If only DH had the balls to sit and listen to folks told him. They would not be in the mess they are now. Such a shame. Hope all the hard work that was put in by a lot of people to get speedway back at Liecter to see it all lost again, by one man who would not listen.

I am not sure if anyone else feels as I do, but I have a strange feeling, that the Lions will not race again this season. What will happen in 2017 is anyones guess. Don't think they can keep going in the EL, have they got enough to start next season on the PL. Just wished that someone in the know would make a statement of some sorts to what is going to happen next year.I guess I am not on my own, hoping that the Lions come to the tapes in form or the other next year. Fingers crossed,

I could not help sitting with gritted teeth last night watching the Belle Vue/Poole meeting last night on sky. Oh dear Nigel does need to get his house in order, there is not a more avid Poole supporter in the world, he was shouting and screaming every time a Poole rider won and made himself look a total idiot when he was ranting on and on that Newman was going from last to second only to go back to last in the next few yards. I know he gets a little fired up when comentating but nothing on a scale as when he is doing it when Poole are on SKy.

The Lions web site seems to be worse than ever now. Just had a look and I see that they have not given a write up about the meeting against Belle Vue. Was it that bad that it was to much to even bother writing about it.

Swindon - Leicester Sep 1st
weatherwatcher replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Too true on all that you said, the only stadium that is really suited to this new breed of super bikes is the new one at Belle Vue. The bikes are just to fast and to unpredictable to do anything around the really tight narrow stadium we still have over here. -
Buz was just the same when he rode for Leicester, one good meeting 2 bad ones, he was consistant if nothing else, at least he has gotten out of the habit of hitting the fence every meeting and ending up in a big heap. The days are riders overtaking are few and far between these days, the bikes are to fast, we see a rider roar of to the front for the win, he dose not give to hoots about his team mate who is fighting for his life behind him in third place where a good bit of comon sense could have given the team a 5/1 if he had riden for his mate, instead of being greedy to get all the points and glory, not to say the money involed.

What Is Going On At Leicester
weatherwatcher replied to weatherwatcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I must say I love my speedway and would hate to see anything happen to the club. But it has slowly gone down hill since it was in the PL.The stadium was nearly always full. With plenty of meetings a year, now I just don't know how the club manges to keep it head above water. I may have made a mistake about the re-schedualed meetings, I am not wrong though with the state that things are. There are no real big sponsers now bringing in the money they need. It is time that the club passed to someone who is commited to the sport. Because I am afraid that those in charge don't seem to care. They moan about the drop in crowd levels, but really do you blame them. I for one do not see paying the £60 it cost me to get and the fuel to get there and back a very good return. The first year in the EL you could live with, they promissed big name riders that never came, Last year the same and that was not a great deal better, there are no excuses about this year. There are better PL teams than we have there now, if they can't afford the top riders wages, then they should have gone back down to the PL this season, I know DH would think he had not achied what he set out to do, but I am sure the fans would have come back again. At the moment we are the laughing stock of the EL. Far better to say we had a go at it, we can't get the big riders here, that is if you don't change race nights and go back to the PL. It would be no disgrace. I really think that the club are finding it really hard. No meetings, then they have no money coming in. The whole system of the EL looks looking at meeting wise as clubs will soon be out of pocket. Sorry if this hurts a few, I am no doom and gloom merchant as some folks have said, but a speedway fan who loves the sport, and can see the writting on the wall. -
What in heavens name is going on at Leicester. Just seen on the Lions website, that not only the Poole meeting has been postponed, but Swindon and Kings Lynee as well. Have the riders told the powers that be that unless they get paid then they will not race. It all seems rather fishy to me. Is there anyone out there with more of an idea than I have what is happening. The best thing they could do is to not bother selling the place but to give it to someone who has an idea, what they are doing, because the way things are going, I can't see BP running for much longer. Maybe the B.P.S.A should step in and do something before the preverbiale whosit hits the fan. Don't want to see speedway lost again after the hard work by a lot of people, to bring the sport back to Leicester again.

Strauss, is the old public school boy, who always has a stuppid sickly grin plastered all over his face, he had a few good games and an awful load of bad ones. The only way that he has got where he is now is through the people he knows at the top, not what he did by merit, He was hopeless as England captain. Without Tai we may not do as well in the SWC next year or for a couple or so years after, but with the lads coming through and I hope with the backing, if it is there for them we will have a team that go go out there to make a name for British speedway again. I hope that when they do, that it will be under the name of Great britain and not the silly stuppid tearm the now use for them team GB. I fail to see why they use it. Never saw a team Rus, or team Swe, so lets get it back to what it used to be.
-
Or is it a fact that Tai now thinks he is something far bigger that to be seen on the British team. Wish we knew the fact of what has gone on. No doubt this is something between him and the B.P.S.A/SCB. They don't really get on very well together do they.

Charlie Webster Fighting For Her Life
weatherwatcher replied to BWitcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
A real nice person. Spoke to her a couple of times when Sky came to Leicester. Not at all stuck up and always had the time of day to talk to you. She is a real fighter. So prove us all right and get well soon lass. -
People have moned on all season long about him not bothering to ride over here in the EL, he signs for Woles for the rest of the season and some folks still think that it is wrong. Glad he came back even if only few a few meetings. It may put a few more bums on the seats for the weeks to come.

Should Greg Hancock Ride For Usa?
weatherwatcher replied to John Leslie's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
They would have been far better, letting the two old stagers step down on Friday and have had a team of 4 youngster ride to learn the ropes, but it would have ment bring them over here and all thier equipment for one meeting, perhaps the powers that be in the U.S.A speedway are as tight as our lot are here. Who knows where the Brits would have finished if they had some money thrown at them. A couple of weeks spent together before the final and some decent equipment for the other 3 and they could have come away with gold. But typical of British speedway, they have to use thier own engines and bikes that where well off the speed off most of the others, will it ever happen in the future, when we see them get some help, for what is one of the major compititions in the speedway calendar. But I doubt that will ever happen. If the folks over here that run the show, got some decent sponsership and put a bit of money from funds if they have any then we could well bring home Gold next year. They can't even get a major sponser for the Elite League, so the British team stand no chance. Not really sure what the B.P.S.A and SCB do with thier time, other than hold an A.G.M once a year and make a hash of that, because they don't other getting out there to get a big name sponsor to help run the whole shouting match. It is time that things where done rather differently, that is if they want our sport to continue. They should be getting all the lads that are now showing some promise and arranging some decent meetings with team from the other big players to get them, and British speedway once again one of the best out there. -
Glad that Great Britain got silver, but I think the Aussies made the wrong choice in bringing in Josh instead of letting Brady take his place that he showed he diserved in the final, reserve or not there is no saying that he could not have rode and brought in another under u21 in his place. Can't say I am to sorry to see them lose as they are such a load of pompus know it all who have the opinion that they deserve to win the SWC year in year out. Never liked them as a team from when England knocked them out of the cometition at Kings Lynne all those years ago, when they where laughing and making fun of the British team until they started to get on the losing end of things then the smiles sudenly disapeared off of thier faces. No I am not taking Starmans side, I just think he rode his heart out on Friday and he deserved his place in the team on Saturday, win or lose, they lost big time so now we will never know how well they would have done with him in the team, do we.

Should Greg Hancock Ride For Usa?
weatherwatcher replied to John Leslie's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The only difference between the Brits and the U.S.A was the fact that Great Britain had a chance of getting into the top 3 the U.S.A knew deep down that when they rode on Friday with Grin in the team or not then there foray with this year SWC was over.
