  1. Practice was not mandatory at Berwick on Saturday, riders could do it or not. If not practising, they didn't have to sign in until 5pm. Riders don't even have to attend practice for GPs. The Friday 20th meetings at Coventry, Lakeside and Edinburgh, all with qualified riders, will be fine. (Info courtesy of the much-quoted "Supplementary Regulations")
  2. On topic, Suchanek appears to have taken a number of scalps last night (Pawlicki, Doyle, Cook, etc) and would perhaps be no bad thing for a club like, er, Redcar?
  3. I see the German and Austrian gentlemen have withdrawn due to "illness". Get well soon, lads -- and don't go trying to race anywhere else until you feel better.
  4. Berwick: Only team in PL with full league points from all matches, home and away -- and you think they are considering changes? I think you should consider psychiatry.
  5. Good chance for Tyron to get himself back in the reckoning for bigger events.
  6. If Josh doesn't make (and everyone must hope he does) the next qualifier from the 2014 Aussie Title series would be Justin Sedgmen. After him, Mason Campton, Sam Masters and Max Fricke, in that order. All of whom are based pretty close to Berwick if there was a last-minute call-up.
  7. If Josh cannot start, MA will re-nominate another rider. If he pulled out too late to get the re-nomination into FIM, would Lawson move up.
  8. You ever been to Plymouth, mate? Hardly a clone of Shielfield Park. I guess your pal the Beast who said she'd settle for a point is nearer the mark.
  9. Back for a third bite at the cherry, eh? There you are, Bears -- if you want to know what your promotion's up to, sign up for the Berwick newsletter!
  10. I'd guess that the new averages, to run from Sunday onwards will see Chris Mills' CMA reduced to 3.00, as he had a few poor (by his standards) matches in May. Presumably Newcastle won't be able to re-declare until June averages are released.
  11. Well it smacks of unprofessionalism on one front (and good organisation on the other) if Berwick can set up and send out an e-mail to 500 people by half-past ten in the morning to warn them of the meeting being off, and the people who put it off haven't told the BSPA by noon.
  12. Might Workingtom have considered doing what Scunthorpe and Berwick are doing, and taken the bold step of giving the jacket to a teenaged local lad out of one of their two NJL teams?
  13. Troy might be parachuted in on a wild-card by MA, as he was injured and couldn't contest final round at Gillman. Aussie Title 1-2-3 was Holder, Doyle & Grajczonek. Chris isn't doing the GP Challenge, the other two are at Berwick. Rohan Tungate was fourth, he might have decided not to go for it. No law that riders have to qualify for these things, federations can really nominate anyone they want.
  14. I read exactly the same words on the BSPA site. If they copied it from you on here, they don't seem to have given you any writer-credit?
  15. I suspect Theo Pipjer will qualify. Tobi Kroner will also rattle a few. It isn't cut and/or dried!
  16. What do we know about Daniel Gappmaier? Not a name I've heard before.
  17. From where I'm sitting, the rider you want rid of is just one of six guys with almost-equal averages, all of whom ride to, or above, their figures every meeting. Who cares who wears a number one on his back? Berwick's strength-in-depth has them 100% in the league so far, what does it matter who scores most points? If the new averages bring you a different No 1, will your whipping boy then be acceptable as No 2, 3 or 4 in the club's averages?
  18. Yeah, maybe. Kevlar is OK for some kinds of protection, is certainly miles lighter than leather. But rips like Aaron Fox has sustained would have been better-protected by the old cow-hide.
  19. Eh? According to my sources in Rugby, Nathan Greaves was in, but is now out. Instead, as from tomorrow morning, Matt Bates will be in. Dan Greenwood? Doesn't seem to be so.
