Leicester V Poole Elb. 20/08/16
theflyingkiwi replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The irony of calling the SEC a two bit competition when the Elite League is what it is... -
I'd rather be last in the World Championship, than a w*nker starting meaningless threads.

One of the best GPs and people still find reason to moan. Having been around Cardiff all weekend, I still think its by far the best GP on the circuit for the fans. The stadium is bang in the city centre, the atmosphere is superb all the weekend because the majority of the fans/riders/officials congregate in the same bars and restaurants over the weekend. The stadium has a roof so we don't have to worry the weather. League speedway is dying in this country and I think if the GP was taken away from Cardiff to London it would be fatal for the sport. Alongside the fact that Wembley and the Olympic Stadium is miles outside central London so the weekend would be poorer as a result these stadiums have no roof. You only have to look at what happened at Gothenburg to realise how damaging one bad meeting could be, I very much doubt you would have as many fans paying hundreds of pounds to travel to one of these GPs with lack of facilities for fans and the potential of a rain off.

The Russians Are Coming!
theflyingkiwi replied to RPNY's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Horsens was a huge success last year, Prague is a staple feature on the circuit and then it's Cardiff... So not a bad few couple of rounds coming up. It's easy to take the SEC to established tracks where there is little risk although the SEC events in Torun to my memory are poorly supported, compared to BSI taking the events to national stadiums which generate more interest. -
Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions 18/5/16

Meeting is off. -
So why are you not ranting and raving on every thread possible about Nicholls as well? Your continual Tai bashing is repetitive and boring.
-
Excellent Grand Prix imo. Puts to rest the failings of last year, disappointed that I didn't make the trip back out there this year. I think the Poles will come in good in time, they are young and rode well. Tai grinding out the results tonight and in Krsko, riding like the champion he is. Disappointing night with Harris but what can you expect when he was riding in Scunthorpe last night at times he seemed on the pace but I think the new track and not practising yesterday caught him out. I think this is shaping up to be a great series.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

I didn't realise 'Tai bashing' had become your full time occupation. -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
theflyingkiwi replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As Tai explained himself at the weekend on periscope, how did the BSPA expect him to ride in the semi finals of the BF the day after Warsaw when he has no bikes in this country at what is most likely going to be an afternoon meeting in Glasgow. I will support Tai as he represents Britain both in the GPs and at the WC and has done far more for British Speedway than any other rider in the current era. All that is too quickly forgotten. -
Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News
theflyingkiwi replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Be serious. One permission would never be granted as it would signal that a greyhound stadium could have a number of tenants but also who would invest heavily on a speedway track that would only be used for six months if that. -
Sky may not be telling clubs to postpone a meeting early but I bet they are putting the pressure on the BSPA and therefore the clubs to cancel meetings. As BWitcher suggest perhaps there is a fine.
-
I think you will find Rooney swore directly at the camera when celebrating a goal and berated the English fans that travelled out to S. Africa in 2010 that booed the team after a disappointing result.
-
Surely he should be seeded though? What is the point of making the World Champion turn up for the semis. Could understand years ago when the field when every rider was top quality but now it makes no sense.
-
While its disappointing to see Tai not compete this year, could a possible reason be the fact that the two semi finals take place on the 13th and 15th May while the GP is in Warsaw on the 14th and the final is two days after the GP in Horsens.

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but does student admission cover Uni students with a NUS card? Website is vague.

Yes because BT Sport are scouring this forum as we speak to gauge whether there has been any "nasty" comments about her. -

Wasn't it Suzi Perry who said Speedway was boring when she thought she had 'made it'? -
Woffinden tweeted him not so long ago asking if he would be interested in sorting out the mess that is British Speedway, Hearn said that he wasn't young enough!

Plenty of time to do it before the new season starts.

Risk...acceptable Or Unacceptable?

I completed my Masters thesis on the topic of pain, injury and risk in Speedway. Very interesting to listen to the riders in their interviews with their early experiences in the sport through to the present day. -

Of course, just shows how bent these whole processes are.
