With all teams being complete, what sort of teams would people choose as their fantasy 1-7 for the season, fitting into the 42.5 average budget.

Who's Got The Best Reserve?
CaptainAudi replied to pete cc's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Berwick 7. Liam Carr (3.00) * Edinburgh: 7. Steve Worrall (3.00) * Ipswich: 6. Adam Ellis (4.14) Newcastle: 5. Lewis Kerr (6.09) 7. Lewis Rose (3.00) * Peterbrough: 5. Lewis Blackbird (4.81) 6. Joe Jacobs (3.44) * 7. Oliver Greenwood (3.00) * Plymouth: 7. Ben Reade (3.00) * Redcar: 7. Luke Crang (3.00) * Rye House: 4. Steve Boxall (5.69) Scunthorpe: 7. Matt Williamson (3.00) * Sheffield: 7. Josh Bates (3.00) * Somerset: 6. Charles Wright (4.30) 7. Paul Starke (3.52) * Workington: 6. Ashley Morris (4.01) These riders were all national league riders last year, and there is at least one in every PL club except Glasgow. You can't say the PL aren't doing their bit, there just isn't enough riders who would want to come up to Edinburgh or Glasgow every week. Those with a * are riding in the NL again this year, which shows there is a number of riders using the NL to PL stepping stone. Edited to rectify mistake. -

One of the races of the season last year at Armadale was Josh holding off Jason Doyle for the win after popping out the gate first, extremely clever ride from him to hold the much faster Aussie behind him!

Sneddon and Fricke? Auty and Jorgensen? Tungate and risager?

Pijper and tabaka?

Kasper Lyyke - 4.04 Michael Palm Toft - 4.92 Nicki Barrett - 3.60 Henning Bager - 5.30 Jake Anderson - 3.97 Max Dilger - 4.22 Tero Aarnio - 5.86 Facundo Albin - 3.63 Alex Edberg - 4.39 Linus Eklof - 5.76 Riders from PL last season who would still fit in the 9.21. (Maybe missed a couple) Take a pic of any two that fit! Anyone from Edbergs average upwards would push Compton(4.36) to reserve.

Joszef has been ruled out for longer than expected so he won't be racing at all till late next year at the earlies, possibly not even till 2015.

Peterborough Panthers 2014
CaptainAudi replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
IMO it would help Kings Lynn greatly to have RL Doubling-up with the panthers, as it would give him extra meetings to gain more experience and money. Obviously it boils down to a) if Robert/KL wants to and if it is feasible due to his schooling, German commitments etc. -
So, back to the 2014 team, what's everyone's thoughts on riding order? In my opinion; 1. Craig Cook - 10.52 (obviously) 2. Aaron Fox - 5.00 (give him time to settle especially away from home with less pressure. Extra points in heat 8) 3. Max Fricke - 5.81 (should do okay at 3, maybe will struggle but he's determined to learn. Can pack minor places well with DS. Good experience.) 4.. Derek Sneddon - 5.52 (hopefully balance out for having a weaker 3rd HL and decent points in heat 14) 5. Sam Masters - 7.43 (obviously) Reserves either way are quite strong, but personally I would go for: 6. Steve Worrall - 3.00 7. Justin Sedgemen - 4.99 (will probably move into top 5 after first average change and be replaced by Aaron at #7)

Where has a 'big announcement' been spoken about? I reckon it will mainly be regarding the air fence or simliar if there is anything to speak about, or possibly the first few fixtures?
-
IMO that is not the way to go, as apart from Cookie the current confirmed starters can all add to their averages (cookie will more or less match his) and I don't see lemon or tully doing that! Fricke, A seven point find/Claus and a young reserve such as Liam Carr (if Berwick don't use him) or James Sarjeant would be more beneficial over the season!
-
Scratch the ps, just re-watched the video and listened to the announcer this time. I'm guessing BJ would be fined for his actions??
-
Looks impressive, maybe a solid second string in the making, swapping with JS at reserve. That being said, I would much rather have Maxy, Claus and a steady 3.5-4.5 reserve if we can find one? Ps. What's the deal with the rider throwing a tantrum and breaking the tapes in the video, can anyone work it out? 😀
-
I know nothing is finalised, but if the limit is still 42.5, and we could get the riders in this, then we would be solid. obviously I would love to be able to keep Cookie, but if its affects the rest of the team building, then we would have to say goodbye. (Same as with Fisher a couple years back) (Latest average in brackets) 1. Ricky Wells (7.81) 2. Max Fricke (5.80) 3. Andy Tully (7.44) 4. Joszef Tabaka (6.00) 5. Sam Masters (7.52) 6. Liam Carr (3.00) 7. 4.93 Reasons: Ricky: He is no Cookie, but still good around Armadale, can ride well away from home as well (higher away average than Sheffield average). Wether we could convince him up is another thing though, but he always tweets that he loves Edinburgh so here's hoping! Max: Would you be stupid enough not to keep him after his improvement this year!! Andrew: Had his year away and hasn't got the pressure of #1 this time, solid #3 for Newcastle. Joszef: Can only improve, yes he has off nights but still a solid second string most PL clubs would jump at the chance of signing. Sam: Was looking forward to seeing him last year, very solid HL and most likely to push for #1 in the first 2 months of season. Liam: Bags of potential and can improve vastly with a year in PL, can win heats home and away for us! You may disagree, but I think that would be a solid looking team, especially away from home.
