  1. Nothing new about that, I remember in the 80's we had Wolve's start marshal on loan at old Perry Barr (think his name was Kev ?) and woe betide any rider who P1ssed around at the gate! unlike the current incumbent who riders take no notice of! Back in the 70's we "borrowed" Cradley's track man Ted Flannahan (sp?) who sorted out the many bumps and potholes on the new circuit. You know it's called mutal cooperation and long may it continue. Good Luck to Wolves in the play off final!
  2. We don't get decent crowds at Perry Barr - that's the major problem! and if Tony Mole was a rich owner we wouldn't be in the National League! - Birmingham is NOT a rich club! - Quite the opposite in fact and it's down to the fans to support the club in the 3rd tier or Speedway in Birmingham is history!
  3. A great race indeed - spolt by the prat with the microphone!
  4. I think - "you bubble headed boobey" is a bit harsh :P
  5. 8.90 it is as confirmed by Phil on the Brummies forum
  6. The curfew is 10pm but there is also a limit on heats which I think is 21? so double headers are out under the present conditions. Maybe the council could exercise some flexibility (and common sense) but don't hold your breath
  7. There wouldn't have been enough wednesdays to accommodate both Birmingham and Cradley if The Heathens went PL nothing to do with "Terms" set by Mole or anyone else! Planning conditions are quite strict at PB and that means only one speedway meeting per week.
  8. Nothing complicated about Cricket - You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game! See - Simples!!
  9. That would be the same tried and trusted PL that Gary Patchett lost bucket loads of cash when he ran Brum for a year and couldn't get away quick enough!
  10. You're not missing anything Peter The forums going the same way as our team!
  11. Birmingham were doomed the day Alan Phillips rejected Tony Mole's offer of buying the club back and instead decided to run the club on his own assisted by his mini me son! - "Amateurs" - to quote Phil Morris! and bloody ell was he right! Birmingham's demise is not typical of the EL as a whole, but I do admit The EL in it's current format is on borrowed time and needs radical changes in order to survive.
  12. To be fair Tony Mole has said EL was perfectly viable when he was running the club. Moley made a big mistake selling the club to a pair of keen and enthusiastic amateurs with no experience of running a speedway club - that's what killed us off.
  13. It seems Tony Mole is quite keen on resurrecting the Brummies in 2015, in what league he won't say. Apparently there are a few problems to be ironed out but happily the GRA doesn't appear to be one of them! Below are the last couple of articles from the local rag http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/other-sport/tony-mole-keen-resurrect-birmingham-7433245 http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/other-sport/tony-mole-plans-birmingham-talks-7441673
  14. I think the new guy is Brummies announcer Dave Rowe - could be wrong of course
