Glasgow V Sheffield
Fenway Bleachers replied to Fromafar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
But Masters or Cook may have helped the crowd a bit more..... -
Congrats Worky better from tapes consistently Howarth looks to be improving and realizing his talent and Greaves rode a smashing blocking ride in his 5_1. Cookie trapping remains hit and miss,Sam sublime Sedgy a welcome surprise and young Erik looked happy on a track that suits his style. Best team won..let's move on we can return at end on May and win with Kevin back but we need to gate better. Hope Rusty recovers quickly looked a bad spill from stand and air fence helped but damage done when coming down I guess. Nice chocolate and Bovril too!!!

Postponement likely but what to blame this time..........?? Airfix ambulance?? All the drugs used up already?? Plague and pestilence ?? Shale sponsored by Pritt ?? Emergency rugby league game ?? Bed bugs in the pits ?? Ed Millipede speech and rally ?? Punctured air fence ?? Ashfield tapes ?? Watch this space !!

I think Morris is a marmite figure then paulco, bit like fisher and grieves before him. as long as we avoid bad crashes and terracing bile and expletives..... that`s good for rivalry North of Border. Tongue in cheek........looks like george is joining me with the Morris encore on friday.......i`ll start the boo just as he parades past the shed george you join in when you are comfy !!
-
No George that kind of language and expletives are not justified in any sporting arena. I would not defend that at Ashfield or in the street. I would not excuse that outburst from anyone and despair if fans of the blue and gold resorted to that within your earshot. Disappointing that kids exposed to that at a sporting event. I guess they will hear that kind of language in many aspects of life even school classrooms these days I learn, but it does not excuse it. I,m sure you explained such neanderthal lingo as it merited to the wee one. It may be banter at football grounds but needs weeded out and banned at speedway before we end up considering segregation to avoid conflict, and that would be very sad. I,will continue to Boo Morris, and banter and share the sweeties with Weegies supporters in the Armadale shed or Ashfield back straight as always. Enjoy Friday everyone, shout, bawl Boo whoever you want but keep the language sensible for the company you are in, then shake hands at the end and commiserate with the beaten Weegies but thank them for coming!!

ACH George I,m sure as a parent you are good at making up stories and with a bit of diplomacy explaining to a 10 yo in terms they will understand and adding a wee dose of humour! To Nagy,s point yes accidents happen but a few are unforgettable and live long in the memory. No rider I believe puts themselves or anyone else in harms way,but occasionally poor judgment and reckless riding can lead to disaster. October 2013 was one such occasion. It,s not possible to forget when someone as passive and polite as wee Joe ends on the dog track with a thigh bone exposed. Morris may call it a racing accident, maybe he,s right and an contrite apology would be a start. Monarchs fans who witnessed the crash are not likely to forget or forgive it,this will continue to boo, give the fingers to reflect the injustice of it all. I,ve been watching speedway on and off for 41 years and in my view it,s the worst incident I,ve seen

Here here BM Cook attracts criticism thru some of his Tweets and some of the time fairly. I think many PL fans envy his points scoring and heat 13 and 15 records, cause he does his THING on most tracks. He is a Monarchs legend already, with more to come. Gavan, next time he beats Danny Olympic .......he might get to keep him!!
-
Hey! To the Victors go the spoils. No excuses Glasgow won nicely balanced team, Monarchs tail found out. Let's move on fellow Embra fans we can still top the group and Friday becomes tasty. Tiggerati have a much better team this year and they have beaten us handsomely at Ashfield for first time in a wee while in something that matters more than challenges,so good luck to them and enjoy the moment. You are only as good as your last match, so we will need to reverse that in 5 days to resume our mantle again. Hope young Clegg is not too sore,Kozza strips fit,and well done Sam....top of the PL averages I reckon

Achtung! The panzer twins in harmony getting ready for sundays blitzkreig..........well here`s hoping -
Don`t think half the meeting will be over at 4 Dorothy...... 1st two meetings started at 3-20 and with a few tapes issues, paramedic alerts and dodgy beer in the main stand......?!........you just might get through a few chapters of war and peace. Weather looks set fair so maybe some ambre solaire will be required for all the "patrons". hope the tuck shop in the back straight sells cereal...........it could be along one.
-
How many Weegies will fall ill in the main stand this week? What kind of beer are they selling? Will the meeting be over at 6pm ? Whose knicker elastic will be employed as tapes this week? Will the sun put the meeting under threat ? Will Dickie throw a sickie? Might Spud get a haircut? Lock up your daughters cause Nick is on his bucking steed. Turn up in the peoples republic of Possilpark just before 4 for the start of the fun to find out who will top the Border Group and assume bragging rights for 5 days until the Armadale return.R

Cookie sublime tonight and clearly enjoyed the victory parade, pumping up the fans on back straight. Difficult to believe its the same guy with the aces. However with that saltire on his chest he is absolute GRAVY!!!!!

Fenway Bleachers replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hey!! Hey!! at least we got an ambulance...........just turns up late sometimes!! -
No signs so far that he`s under par for the monarchs....... thanks Gavan! however he struggled a fair bit last year with BV and that hasn`t changed YET! This weekend will tell us more especially Shielfield where gating is at a premium, and his pal maybe back for the badnits
-
Oh dear !!!! Sick note Dickie strikes again! Can't the Triggers wrap him in grease proof paper? Still the broken finger nail should heal quickly! Still at least with Prick missing the safety fence won't be burst, and we can welcome back Stevie albeit with a rash on his race jacket. Surprised Fricke was not asked cos unlike Dickie he can win races at the dale.....
-
Just as others are keen to criticize and crucify him Arson. Now Cookie is no angel and at times opens his mouth before engaging brain but tell me who hasn,t done that during sport? Since he is the PL top dog I guess the criticism might just reflect jealousy for some, a very British disease n,est pas???
-
The track was rideable and for the determined few (our reserves) raceable, if you chose to go wide enough. At the start if you were behind, then you got filled in. Just a pity that the races took so long to get started and a few more "you have 2 minutes" would have moved things along. Pity Erik the "kinder" fell and popped the fence as this added to the delay, and we could have done without the track grading in my opinion. (just pulled mud back on to the drier racing line) However quite why we didn`t start until 3-15 surprised those of us on the back straight who had adjusted watches forward........ Cookie clearly does not enjoy heavy tracks (remember the 4`s at leicester?) though he did show some ball5 in heat 5 between the 2 Tiggers, so it was rideable, especially with clear track in front. tigs deserved their win so roll on Friday. Any chance Dickie lawson pulls a sickie???
-
Listen. This is a great development, I can now enjoy the racing and have a few beers without the wife in tow.....she's now banned!!!!
-
Agreed tyretrax.... matches this season should be feisty (no more spearing opponents Morris) and well supported to the benefit of both clubs. in recent years matches against the Tigs were never meaningless but all the Wooping of the weegie a5s meant they were meaning less with familiarity. No more..... Head to heads with Cumbrias no2 should keep Cookie honest and whilst we have a longer tail, we do have 2 no1`s with firepower at the end of meetings, to help keep it close. Tigs may have a secret weapon at reserve with a pairing who could average beyond 5 each and so this might only be our first meeting this year, but we might end our season at ashfield in the playoff final...... bring it on ........................
