Great lad and a Monarchs legend…..he bleeds blue. Will never forget his leadership during our purple patch and back to back league titles. My personal favourite was the last heat wonder in the 4s at Redcar, balls of steel ride round the boards for a max and to bring home the bling. The heat 15 masterclass with Sam against Somerset is a close second. He was more than a big hitter during that spell, more a sledgehammer, and a certainty in heat 15 if you needed it. He will be welcomed back at Armadale if that’s what he chooses…..just remember the passport to get through at Harthill.

Edinburgh - new home required….

Once bitten, twice shy.. Not sure the Monarchs would go West again given current financial plight, given the past “ experiment” What day would they run? Fridays spoken for. How many would travel? Some Monarchs fans have not returned to Ashfield since 2015, would that change? With uncertainty , riders liable to look elsewhere for security in 2023, than risk losing out on getting fixed up. Would all sponsors stay loyal? Maybe a year or 2 out is inevitable. -
Well done Captain courageous!! Highest average in the league, inspirational skipper for Monarchs and riding with dislocations, fractures and metalwork. Well deserved, for the second time, having won in 2011. He has now won everything the league has to offer in our colours. Skills and bravery on track, and at home (with another babe on the way) He will be acclaimed with much warmth when back at Armadale.

Not sure what meeting you were at. !! Paco left no gap, I was at the 4 th bend. Ostrich carried too much speed , dived up the inside where there was no room and wiped him out. Reminded me of a similar Wolbert move on James Grieves at Ashfield in 2011 Scottish Cup which was equally dangerous, and James did not enjoy, or sad to say the Nick Morris move on the same corner that ended Tabakas career. All well and good trying to get your team a point, but not if you might hospitalise your opponent. !

No, no problems with Sam. He is a legend up here and much loved. I’m sure ice and Ibuprofen did the job. He has not hidden his distaste for Scunny. Glad to see he will be back on form with Josh for Friday when your mob come to Armadale. Should be some fine tussles with him and the good twin! -
KOC Sat 4 June - Glasgow v Edinburgh

The Devils are not riding Saturday, so they could fill the holes of the missing riders. That would fulfill the fixture. I am sure the Weggies would enjoy seeing the Millars at Ashfield. -

Southerness…..right in the middle of nowhere, even mobiles get no signal there….gorgeous place with the sun out, gave you guys at Silloth a wave too. -

There is an historical reason for some not to come. Travel and traffic in Glasgow not easy after events at Parkhead earlier, plus golf on the beautiful Solway Coast too tempting. Pleased with the point, Sam back on his own bike after playing around with the Lawson mobile on Friday. -
No problem, you are using the rules….just as others have in the past. Cam makes you stronger no doubt, but then if you are allowed a guest, it makes sense to pick someone suitable. No doubt we will have a word with him after the meeting about his availability for 2022, and whether he and Drew might travel together to Armadale, to ride for us of course. I am happy to assist with the diesel for said trips. !!

Indeed. Truly dreadful incident with Sarj hitting the air fence( thank goodness) at high speed. Hope he makes a full recovery. Now my frustration would be the delay…. With a knee dislocation, the extent and nature of such an injury would be quickly obvious. He would need quickly assessed for bleeding and shock and transferred with haste to hospital. NHS ambulances do not respond quickly ( a blue light during the day can take an hour or longer) and response times when there is medical back up on site likely to be much longer. Therefore a trip to hospital was justified, by the quickest means. That would have been appropriate and understood by the crowd. Waiting for an hour made no sense. With speedway it seems now easily cancelled with a racing incident of this sort, or any heavy rain shower near the start, it makes you wonder if it’s still worth attending. No wonder the sport is struggling to attract new fans. I hope all the Bears fans are refunded for their wasted trip…

Indeed. 4.95 for Cam. He is much better than that and an Armadale specialist. Maybe we could convince him and Drew Kemp to van share next year !
